  1. The player has to sign it, right? Just cuz the Sabres offer, doesn't mean he'll sign it.
  2. But what is a pure scorer? That's what I was asking.
  3. What is a 'pure' goal scorer. And is 24 goals what to expect from one?
  4. I get that. But do you think he made the roster because of Eichel or was just considered as a FA signing?
  5. He's been in the NHL for 9 seasons. He's an NHL quality player.
  6. No, maybe to you that he couldn't make the NHL without Eichel. He was obviously an NHL caliber player, even if you didn't see it.
  7. I can't, but I do remember so many experts here claiming the only reason we signed him was because he was Eichels friend.
  8. I'm guessing because , at the time, he was one of our best goal scorers and we needed to hit the cap floor.
  9. This Edmonton/Vancouver series has been incredible.
  10. Skinner says $9 million a year.
  11. But what would you expect? The PC with the bad news wasn't as positive as the PC with the good news. That shouldn't be a shock.
  12. It's not like Rochester is packing them in either. It's minor league, and I still believe the Tucson fans will be sad to see them go, wtf wouldn't they.
  13. Tucson fans won't be happy losing their team. This ownership group is making a lot of enemies.
  14. The team also spent a lot of money on youth hockey. They provided free equipment for mites just starting out. Youth hockey is pretty big here, hate to see it suffer. My kids played 7 years, it was a great program.
  15. Wonder if they bought the domain names yet?
  16. Would be weird having the new SLC team's top prospects playing in Phoenix. We've been stockpiling draft picks and to watch them develop and never play for Phoenix would be strange.
  17. It was poor ownership(s) and poor arena planning. It's not on the city or fans. The final year in Glendale, the Coyotes outdrew both Buffalo and Ottawa. Hockey has been here for decades, it would have done well with an arena in the right city. Just because 30k people voted in Tempe and the majority of those votes were against, doesn't really reflect the potential support from almost 6 million in the area. Just been a mess from the top throughout.
  18. I know a few people that went. A lot of really bummed out people. The ticket prices were outrageous, I heard $1000 and up. There's enough fans here to support a team, but crappy owner after crappy owner doomed the franchise. Reminds me of the Braves, crappy owner, bad arena situation, and the fans have up. The big difference is that the Braves tore apart a great team while the Yotes have a good foundation, a strong prospect pool and a boatload of high picks the next few drafts. I only went to a game or two a year, but it was a great time. I'm very bummed.
  19. The big mistake of the nhl appears to me that they did a terrible job vetting new owners, each one was as bad as the prior one.
  20. Easy guy to root for. I'm glad he at least made some good money.
  21. They'll wear white shirts with black ties.
  22. Will the players need to wear the magic underwear?
  23. Hard to say, the league obviously really wanted the team here and it sounds like this plan had been discussed for a while now, as the team worked towards a new arena. Lack of information from the league and ownership has been really aggravating.
  24. My guess is that there was a good chance the project would take longer than the 3 year plan. A lot of work needs to be done to prep the land. There's nothing there, fair amount of infrastructure before any building happens.
