I never said he's acting like an ass. He wants out, the Sabres want him out. He's injured , they disagree on the type of surgery required. Would you trust the sabres to make the right health decision for you? It wouldn't surprise me that if they agreed on surgery from the outset, a trade might not be inevitable.

I meant specifically about Eichel, not in general. If someone called Beane about Allen, after he stopped laughing, should Beane discuss what it may take to get Allen, even hypothetically? Of course not. Be careful about using an emoji during negotiations.

https://www.si.com/hockey/the-hockey-news/the-jack-eichel-era-is-heading-toward-a-cliff-in-buffalo https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/podcasts/the-instigators-20259/02-18-sportsnets-elliotte-friedman-357325363 Don't act like nobody here heard any of these stories about teams looking to trade for Eichel before last season. I've read more, you can use The Google if you are really interested. While you read these articles, notice he is referred to as Jack, not John.

"the sabres apparently have been looking to trade him for 2 seasons now" This was my statement. I think you need to look in Websters dictionary to learn what 'apparently" means and what 'definitive' means. They are very different. I based my comment on what I've read, I can't prove it is true, hence, apparently(as far as I know)

I know it from reading articles that the Sabres were listening to other teams asking about him. If you weren't interested in possibly trading, you don't even engage. How serious the talks were, i don't know.

because his behavior hasn't been that bad. He hasn't said anything publicly since the end of season, the sabres apparently have been looking to trade him for 2 seasons now and they're having a disagreement on treatment. Oh and the Sabres organization sucks. He certainly isn't trying to look good, but he's been quiet. The Sabres have messed up everything they've touched for 10 years now. I blame them for everything. It's a frickin sad emoji face. Be serious.

Quite a reaction to an emoji. Jack wants out, the Sabres want him out, why get personal , especially because an emoji. Jesus.

GMKA probably just had a meeting with his agents and told him to get ready for LTIR, that no team is meeting his price.

Sabres Hired Tim Kennedy and Nathan Paetsch as Development Coaches

It was a joke about all the $750K contracts we've been giving out recently, apparently, not a very good one. -

They only offer $750k -
He will be playing for one of the top coaches in the NHL, multiple cup championships , offense minded coach. He will have success in the playoffs. At least he'll have an opportunity, one that he wouldn't see here.

It seems as though the Blues have no takers for Tarasenko right now, might be a bad move for the Sabres to pick him up with intentions of trading him later. So many are worried about Jacks' NMC , why take on another , potentially worse contract with a NMC?

or not.

Sabres Identity: Hardworking, Relentless with Speed.

Agreed. I made a point of mentioning that we lack the talent to compete. -

I'm not sure people are ignoring the garbage time concept. Nobody is really expecting the team to be very competitive this season, but I do think Granato did an admirable job and the team showed some talent and energy severely lacking under RK. I still expect them for finish at the bottom of the league this season. -

I know this a little bit of cherry picking, but I think it's legit. I think we lost his first 5 or 6 games. Once they got some time under their belts with the new system, they were a .500 team and very entertaining to watch. I think that's why Granato got the full time gig. There's reason to feel good about the new coach, but we are still lacking in talent to compete over a full 82 games. -

Good point. Cupboard is really bare, isn't it. -

Yeah, since they are not property of the Sabres and I don't believe we have any say in their coaching, training...., It's a technicality for sure, but until they sign.... , also, save for UPL, these goalies discussed are a few years away, so you really can't count of them for rebuilding. If we're in rebuilding mode when these guys are 22, 23 years old, we'll have a new GM/Coach combo again. -

One reason I didn't mention Portillo is because I don't really consider him in our system. He's an unsigned draft pick, correct? But from what i have read, he seems to have the highest upside. My point is that we almost are not even really rebuilding if we don't have the proper foundation. -

Are UPL and Levi the goalies you want to build around? They're not even NHL ready as of today. UPL has not fared well in limited professional games and Levi, still very young. -
It's quite the mess right now. I'm guessing they're hoping UPL can do well enough in Rochester to earn a callup maybe after the new year. He hasn't played many games since his surgery and his stint in Rochester was underwhelming. If the team plays like they did late in the season, the poor goaltending will be really frustrating again.

Talent and goaltending would be a great identity for this team. We are severely lacking in both right now. -
I think too much is being made of the no movement clause. If he's healthy and elite, we'll get value no matter what. He doesn't have all leverage, Jack, either add more teams or suit up.
-
Do you think the Sabres were going to fool other teams on Eichels medical situation? You can't trade a guy then later disclose that surgery is needed. Any team trading for him needs to have access to his medical records.

I meant about the discussion of the 2 procedures in question. Skating isn't a concern, playing professional hockey is the issue.
