One can be a Sabres fan and still respect someones decision to stay in college. Usually fans complain about greedy athletes, now some complain when they delay a nice contract to continue in school. This is why athletes shouldn't listen to fans and only to close friends and family.

Darcy was our most successful GM since Punch. To single him out for the teams failures is ridiculous. To say he allowed losing to be acceptable is an absurd statement. We never had consistent, high expectations and results with any other GM. He told it to us straight, Golisano wasn't going to spend what was needed for a quick fix, he knew that and he said that. Not his fault.

I'm not advocating a trade , I like VO a lot, my point was that we need to get a upper level goalie for next season and might need to trade some quality for quality.

If he can get us a very good goalie, need to keep an open mind. Not really excited about going into next season with what we have now. This team might be very good next season, except for 1 area.

I agree with you , I was just trying to make a point where the poster said that 'going all in' starts the clock too. That's part of the job, I think Adams has earned some trust and time, but I don't think it's wise to count on college players to jump to the NHL and guide the team to the playoffs. We need a 2 - 3 year bridge to the young kids.

Something really good brewing with this team. I was all gloom and doom at the start of the season, but I'm totally on board now. They're a fun team to watch, some great young talent on the team, and some real exciting players ready to make the jump next season. I take back most of what I said this past offseason. Still work to do, but reason to be very excited for next season. I forgot how great hockey is to watch when it's played with passion and skill. What's really great is that they are focusing on scoring goals, not winning boring games. Just the style fans love to see.

I'd be thrilled with getting another high pick. The thread is not about the draft pick, it's about Eichel possibly missing the playoffs again. Just like the Sabres.

Yes he was being a prick, I know he should be above the pettiness and personal attacks from the fans, but I'm guessing after not being able to have surgery he wanted, crapped on by fans after working his butt off here, he probably didn't give a crap and said what he said.
