To be perfectly honest with you, this is the first time I had ever heard of this. Do you have a link to it that I can find somewhere? Perhaps a specific YouTube video? I will say this much: If everything you said about Huckabee's ad is true, then shame on him. Gov. Huckabee should know better than to say something like this, given his vocation before he became governor of Arkansas. As a Southern Baptist minister, he should know better than to make deals with the devil - especially since most Southern Baptists (and this Reformed man) still consider Mormonism to be a cult. Then again, it's only symptomatic when church "leaders" make a significant departure from the Calvinistic roots that led to the founding of the colonies before it became a nation. Even so, our days are numbered. Each nation/empire has a beginning and an end. They rise and they fall. Ask the Romans. Ask the Ottomans. Ask the Brits.

Here's something that John Newton had to say about us back in 1778! "The times look awfully dark indeed; and as the clouds grow thicker, the stupidity of the nation seems proportionally to increase. If the Lord had not a remnant here, I would have very formidable apprehensions. But he loves his children; some are sighing and mourning before him, and I am sure he hears their sighs, and sees their tears. I trust there is mercy in store for us at the bottom; but I expect a shaking time before things get into a right channel, before we are humbled, and are taught to give him the glory. The state of the nation, the state of the churches — both are deplorable. Those who should be praying— are disputing and fighting among themselves! Alas! how many professors are more concerned for the mistakes of government, or of the Americans, than for their own sins! When will these things end?" (edited to make the font easier to read)

Better selves? Seriously, there is nothing good in any of us at all.

It sure does seem that he loves to do things like this just to get under our skin and get attention. Think of who you're dealing with. No amount of pin-point accurate reproof is going to dissuade him and his antics. Even the Boss Man has called him out on this before. Having said that, I replayed a video on YouTube that never seems to get old with me because of the dead-on accuracy behind it. Then I thought, What if I substituted the names Joel Osteen and Benny Hinn with Barack Obama (and possibly Mitt Romney (maybe))? It made sense because of the veracity of the message being driven.

What are you getting at with this?

:clapping: Classic! I wish there was a way for me to look at this and not think that there's some kind of conspiracy to add more confusion than clarity to the issue - especially with the elections being just a few days away. Oh, and Mayor Bloomberg: You're an opportunist.

I thought about this recently. I can't remember for sure if I've said it on here before, but I'll say it anyways. There are very few atheists who have the mindset of someone like Nat Hentoff or S.E. Cupp, so I'm pretty sure I have an idea how the rest of them are going to vote (and it sure won't be for Romney). Having said that, whatever comes from the pulpit will most certainly spill over into the ballot box - whether one goes to John MacArthur's church or Joel Hunter's church. All I can say is that in the aftermath of all this, God is still sovereign - and He has made nations rise and fall in the past, in the present, and definitely in the future (including America).

You weren't looking to give these oh-so incredibly brilliant college kids a pass because they didn't know something that had happened just within the past few weeks (even though it had been plastered all over the news)? I came across this less than an hour ago. I thought it was well thought out. I only wish that people like Samuel L. Jackson would take her words into consideration.

I said on last Thursday's complaint thread that I was going to report on the good news the following day. However, with everything that was going on last Friday, I didn't have the time to fully disclose what happened. 1. We finally bought a house and moved a lot closer to our respective jobs. My wife no longer has to commute 40-45 minutes to work. Now it's down to like 10-15 max. My commute is a bit shorter as well - especially at night! :D 2. Right after we closed on the house, we filled out a preliminary application to adopt a child.

I'm not sure how to classify this music (grunge/funk), but I heard this a number of years ago. Quite creative to say the least.

Given what day it is today (no, not "Halloween/Samhain"), I haven't been able to get this out of my head since Sunday.
-
It's Reformation Day today. AWESOME!!!
-
Better yet. This guy is more consistent.
-
Well, you assumed that it was a guy that said it, so I reckoned to show you that it wasn't.

Ask Friedrich August von Hayek. Better yet, ask Congressman Ron Paul.

Love the avatar! How apropos. My sister-in-law's husband believes that Bettman is the worst commish in all of pro sports. I can't argue with that. And these kids have college degrees??? John Dewey may be dead, but his "spirit" is alive and well. Ok, my two complaints for the week. One's pretty strong, the other one's tepid. 1, Ann Coulter. What an embarrassment she is for conservatives! I expect Chris Matthews to spew the venom that he does on MSNBC and just about get away with it. However, for someone who claims to be as conservative as she is, she knows better. 2, It's not Friday yet. Not because it's not TGIF, but because I can just taste what's going to happen tomorrow. I can't wait to break the news when it happens.

Oh, did I forget to mention that it was a woman that said it?

I would agree with the bolded part as well. At the same time, there are some very highly intelligent people like Wayne Grudem who make a case for why they will vote for Romney. While I may not necessarily agree with it, I respect it because Dr. Grudem has stated his position articulately and didn't resort to sophomoric straw men. Concurrently, I have very close friends on Facebook who are also voting for Romney. Again, they have their reasons and I respect them for it. As one of them put it, "We've tried change. Now try competence," - and this was coming from someone who voted for Obama in 2008 and deeply regrets it.
-
Fixed. You can thank Woodrow Wilson for where we are now (as has been discussed earlier). Oh, BTW. These kids scare me. There is no excuse for their ignorance, especially when information on current events is readily available at their fingertips - both inside and outside of their respective classrooms!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2EoZq2rXXI&feature=player_embedded He has a legitimate axe to grind. As for the warden comment, that was way out of line. Keynesianism = multiplied exponentially ad infinitum.

What? AOL is still in business?

Well, since you mentioned it... +1

Think again (if you're not being facetious). How true. You might as well throw in almost the entire American "church" while you're at it. While I have a lot of respect for the friends that I have on Facebook, many of them are supporting Mitt Romney while sidestepping the whole "Mormon" issue. The fact that Billy Graham gave his wholesale endorsement to Romney spoke volumes. Sorry, but I just cannot give Romney my vote (and Obama certainly won't get mine either). If Romney gets into office, a lot of these church leaders are going to be expected to scratch his back. Stuff like this makes me miss King George III.

Proof in the pudding.

Nope. Not at all. Down where I live, I was talking with one of the gas terminal operators for Magellan. On a good year, 70M gallons should be coming out of their facility. He told me they'll be lucky if they break 45M by the end of the year. They were also told that they would not be working overtime unless absolutely needed. He also said that he knew some people up in Michigan that were getting laid off from casinos (of all places). The fact that not even gamblers are coming in to waste their money should say something about the state of the economy. Now, is it still W's fault?

I didn't watch the debate; but from all the times I've seen Candy Crowley on CNN, she looks like she is always angry and bitter. I certainly would not have picked her to moderate the debate, but I wouldn't have picked Ann Coulter either. It could have been worse. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbifHevHekE  You just don't get it.
