I read another story where Abilene Motor Express out of Richmond, VA was helping the Publix grocery store chain to make deliveries for their already overwhelmed drivers. One guy wound up driving 4,000 miles in a week - which is highly unusual under normal circumstances. But, since this is a state of emergency we're under, that can be legally validated.

I see what you're getting at with clickbait. I just couldn't outright dismiss it, given their references to their NHS.

I just came across this article. Do any of our resident medical experts want to weigh in on this? https://www.newsbreakapp.com/n/0OcSqX1G?s=a99&pd=04oiQ1U0

SEC. Even without the logo, the crimson shirt says it all. RTR!

I wish I could have been there. I miss that place!

I've been a Christ-follower for over 30 years. And yet, I still learn new things every day.

Wow. I hear ya. It's not just you; it's been hard on all of us. We have taken so many things for granted that we have become spoiled and most of us don't seem to know what to do. It's no wonder why we feel so arrogantly entitled! ATST, even if some of us disagree with each other over some things, we all have to admit that there's a really intelligent crowd on SS - which is more than I can say about most of the social media outlets. The stupidity of the irrational imbeciles has definitely shown itself. They don't know a thing about thinking critically. Having said that, you sound like you love the medical profession. Don't let a bunch of idiots ruin it for you. Also, this isn't going to last forever. The Spanish influenza didn't. I do have one question for you: Who's in charge?

The head honcho of SS gets blocked from an opinion piece on WaPo? Something's not adding up here.

So I went from a very dead place yesterday to an overbooked receiver this morning. I was at the Walmart DC in Pottsville, PA. I had to wait 3 hours before I could get a dock to get unloaded. In the words of Dick Vitale, "Detention pay, baby!"

Here's the thing. I don't make my faith a secret. Having said that, there's something out there called common sense. If I was a pastor, I would have no problem with complying with SIP orders. I clearly understand that this is an unprecedented health crisis, and I would not want anyone in my church to get sick and die from this virus because I insisted that we all meet for worship regardless of what the powers that be ordered for the safety and health of the state and nation. Plus, with the availability of YouTube and live streaming available, there's no reason why he couldn't do this. As an aside, the "pastor" in question has been on the receiving end of justified criticism in the past for his unorthodox theology. So, it doesn't surprise me that he would pull this stunt during this critical time. Goodness! Even Joel Osteen had enough sense to cancel church services for the health of his congregation - and I can't stand the guy!

Shall we add this jackass to the list for Scaphism punishment? https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/30/us/florida-pastor-arrested-river-church/index.html&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwiSj-mH-cboAhVDbc0KHckzDnoQFjAAegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw2WDu6dTYduW6IaMadJ8xUf

So did I. That is one "last meal" I would NEVER want!

Sorry for not saying this earlier. I remembered since a lot of people are thankful for truckers getting food out to everyone. So, here's my big THANK YOU to everyone who work in hospitals, the CDC, immunology, virology, etc. I don't want to be arrogant and assume to speak for everyone: know that the work you do is greatly appreciated, since you all are putting your lives on the line to help us recover from this pandemic.

That scares me. Not because of what inmates are capable of doing, but all of those people so close together.

Prayers to all in the healthcare industry and the patients. BTW, I'm posting a picture that I just took. This is at the Sysco Hampton Roads near Virginia Beach. I have never seen a normally busy place like this look so dead - even in the midst of a "normal" recession.

So there's this one book I read many years ago, and I am re-reading it again on Kindle. Very profound, to say the least. The problem is that it was translated from 16th century French into English in 1689. While I'd like to say that I've read enough English from that epoch to know what it's saying, most people these days probably wouldn't know what was being said. Having said that, I'm trying to take a crack at modernizing the language without sacrificing the context so that people today may understand it better.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
FogBat replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I see where you're coming from with WoK. But the one I like out of the entire franchise is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. There are so many memorable scenes and one-liners in that movie. ("Everyone remember where we parked" comes in handy at Walmart.) -

I read somewhere a few years ago that George Lucas never had Episodes 7-9 in mind. The creative and artistic differences between 1-3 and 7&8 are so glaringly obvious. (I haven't watched 9, and I don't plan to at all.) Some things should be best left alone. -

We've been watching NCIS on CBS All Access. Not your typical whodunit by any means. -
Looks like rush hour in Pyongyang.
