I'm rooting for Nashville, but I won't be upset if Pittsburgh wins. I was rooting for them last year and generally dislike them much less than my other Sabres friends. I said before it started that I don't care who wins, I just want a great display of hockey and a fairly officiated series. So far, the "display of hockey" has been putrid with the overturn and now this own goal. The "fair officiating" has been anything but. But that second goal was beautiful. Can't be upset about that one.

Stammer would have been in lieu of Okposo. But I'm confident he would have made 3-4million more per year than we're paying Okposo. Would I swap Okposo plus 3.5M a year for a healthy Stamkos? Probably for the near term, but the way things shook out leave it undoubtably easier to fill out the team once extensions are handed out.

I hear you guys are getting Uber :) Another more useful suggestion- you could check with the local Boy Scout council in Buffalo. I'm sure they have inner-city programs like we have here in Columbus. We pay para-pros to work with kids in schools that otherwise couldn't have Scouting. A lot of these kids couldn't afford the program, and many of them come from situations where their parents can't step up as leaders just because of life circumstances. So we pay people to go in and run the program for them. It's usually an after school type of thing, at least for us. Once a week per school, with multiple schools participating and various para-pros assigned to a handful apiece. The para-pros don't get paid much (hell, I'm a full time professional and I don't get paid squat :P ). But it's a feel-good thing to work with kids who really benefit from a program they never dreamed of having access to. And it's not too time consuming. I think they work with our professional to make their own schedules. Just a thought! It's something I'll probably do if/when I leave this current job, so thought I'd toss it out there.

I hope Strome reaches his potential out in the desert. Imagine being a Yotes fan and watching Matthews pot 40 goals while Dylan got sent down after a miserable 7 games. He still lit it up in the OHL, so there's hope. But that one week stings, badly.

Matthews belongs in Phoenix, would have been very cool. And the '15 draft would go down as a pretty epic one. Realistic chance that these are the best three players in the league 5 years from now. Would we still have tanked as hard if there were two consolation prizes? I think so

Gaudreau, Tarasenko, and Granlund are finalist for Lady Byng. Johnny Hockey only took 2 minor penalties all year (72 GP). Not bad! I have a coworker that went to BC with him. I can't wait to tease her about the nomination. Based on her stories, Johnnie fancied himself a ladies man, not a Lady Byng :P
