  1. I second that sentiment. Also Sabres win 6-4 tonight because we're due for a ridiculous game that will get our hopes up just for them to lose the next 4 in a row. It is the Buffalo way.
  2. He played 14-15 in ROC, 15-16 in Buffalo so he's a 3rd year player, therefore not exempt
  3. Forwards: Okposo: We have no choice ROR: No brainer Foligno: Finally becoming the power forward we hoped for, hopefully the consistency improves further next year Carrier: Be a tough loss if he were to go, great young prospect with lots of upside Zemgus: Solid depth guy, finding his way again, plus Latvian Locomotive is an awesome nickname Kane: If we haven't traded him yet, I suppose Deslauriers if we trade Kane Larsson: I guess, we're deep at center but sure because I need 7 Defense: Risto: No brainer McCabe: Also fairly obvious at this point Bogo: But only if we have to Franson: If we don't have to protect Bogo, he's been a really solid possession guy this year Goalie: Lehner: Because GMTM It's still super early, who knows what we look like after the deadline. But if it were tomorrow this is what I would want to see.
  4. And a new fear of what is to come in the world of parenting has come to light. Suppose I'll just have to keep enjoying the toddler years while they last.
  5. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't let Grant play top six minutes.
  6. Exactly. I don't even have a ton of interest for Fowler with the price tag they want anyway and I'm willing to bet neither does GMTM or we wouldn't have Kulikov. Granted the Ducks may be more willing to drop the price to help sign Lindholm, but I'd rather just offer sheet Lindholm than have Fowler.
  7. Good thing John Scott played college hockey here in the states and has, as discussed earlier in this thread, a mechanical engineering degree. Honestly his biggest problem post hockey will be getting a company to not pay him entry level mech e money since he hasn't ever worked as an engineer. But he does have a real education to fall back on.
  8. You should care what they make because that is money against the cap and makes it difficult to sign impact FAs come the off season. Any FA you would hope to have a real impact on your team comes with a price tag. I know we aren't having any cap issues now, but that stuff could mean something even just 2 seasons from now.
  9. I disagree, many goalies play just fine until they're 36 or 37 years old. You don't even see much of a save % dip on a talented goalie until their mid/late 30's so if Johnson seems like he could be the future then I have no problem with him being signed as a 30 year old. I guess, for me at least, it would be more of question of would rather Lehner or Johnson to be starting while Ullmark is transitioning into a true NHL starter. I totally agree with bringing Makarov up over Ullmark though, much rather let Ullmark get the regular starts over playing the top competition every 6 or 7 games.
  10. This is the team that signed Andrew Ference and went "Yup, our defense is all fixed" just to turn around 2 seasons later and throw him on the trading block now. They have offensive talent, but they have no leadership. They haven't had a decent GM since Sather and honestly his success was all because Larry Gordon managed to trade for Gretzky and then got to keep him on some ridiculous contract they had him sign. Until they get a GM that can put together a solid team with a mix of veteran leadership and young talent, including some sound blue liners, they'll never be good anywhere other than on paper.
