You can speak as you like, of course, but in general, several is greater than 2. https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/several Personally, my general rule is couple = 2 few = 3-4 several = 5-10

This is the 2nd season that they have been a cap floor team. The season after firing Botterill the team spent to the cap max on player salary.
-
Because I didn’t scroll over to look at playoff games. In the 1984-85 Roy played 44 reg season games in the QMJHL, 20 mins of action in one NHL reg season game, a full 60 mins in one AHL reg season game, and then 13 AHL playoff games.
-
No one is out of line for classifying Skinner as over paid. It’s ok if you don’t want to talk about it, but he definitely is.
-
Haha. Roy played exactly 1 game in the AHL the season before his rookie year. Then he took over as an NHL starter at 20. Does that really count as not going straight to the NHL?
-
What year is that from? Sabres did not start 17-6-2 this season.
-
They have always spent lots of money on the Front Office and Coaching personnel. This season and last season they seem to purposely spend close to the cap floor on player salaries. However, prior to that, they basically spent as much as they could each season on player salaries as well. Personally, I feel pretty confident that starting next season they will spend closer to the cap maximum on player salaries.

No. The Sabres should not fire Granato.

This team has taken all the goodwill built up over the last year and...

Man, this team had an 8 game losing streak earlier this season. They are extremely young, doesn’t have great depth, and the goaltending is not good. I am honestly surprised that so many people are surprised that they are going through a bad stretch of hockey. To, this is disappointing, of course, but it was somewhat predictable and it doesn’t destroy all the good work that has been done so far in assembling this group. -
You meant Kisakov and Rosen? Östlund is a C. I know you know, just clarifying for everyone watching at home.
-
I actually forget where I saw it. Maybe Kris Baker said it? Anyway, I believe that it was 40” hips, not waist. Big, wide, powerful hips are good for a goalie.
-
Goalies are a bit different. If a skater is really struggling, you can shift them to the bottom of the lineup, give them limited minutes, skip shifts, have them sit out a game. Goalies, it’s kind all or nothing, they are just out there, and if you need to pull them for poor performance in the middle of a game, it’s kind of a big, blatantly obvious thing. So, I do think it’s different putting out a green starting goalie versus a green bottom-6 forward or 3rd pair defenseman. With that said, you may have a point. Levi did just finish an all time great college career. I could be selling him short a bit. I’ll trust the Sabres judgement on whether or not he can is ready, both technically and mentally, to handle regular NHL starts. Either way, he is going to need some onboarding time. There is more to playing NHL goal than going out and stopping pucks. He’ll need a bit of time to get familiar with the Sabres’ systems.
-
I don’t think that they should jump Levi straight to getting consistent NHL starts. If they want to start him off in NHL practice to get a good feel for eachother and/or if they want to give him 1-2 NHL starts if they fall out of the playoff race, that’s fine. I think he needs to work his way through Rochester before becoming a full time NHLer though. I know that Levi seems like a unique breed mentally, but I still worry about confidence issues, not to mention technical development, with rushing a young goalie to the NHL. I hope they don’t do it.

He is 23. It’s definitely not child abuse.
-
Yuck, I don’t really care that he is a hockey player or what his team decides to do in response to this. He needs to charged with a misdemeanor for destruction of personal property, fined, and made responsible for paying for the damages.
-
I will a little. He is big, 6’2”, with a muscular physique. He skates extremely well. He can rip the puck and loves to shoot and score goals. He plays hard and isn’t just a perimeter guy. He is only 19 and did respectably well in the KHL. Basically, he is a star top-6 goal scoring winger starter kit. I can’t say if he will put it all together, but his potential is immense.
-
Poltapov I think is definitely trending towards being an NHL player, probably a bottom 6 winger who can play a checking/energy line game. Novikov it’s really hard to say because he is a 6th round pick defensive defenseman. It’s impressive that he has gotten so much playing time in the KHL, but I don’t really know how it will translate. Seems like Adams wants to spend a lot of the higher draft picks taking swings at hitting on star offensive producers, and is going to try to bring in the more defensive/role players via FA or trade. It makes sense, because stars are extremely hard to get any other way except via the draft. And piggybacking off of what Taro said a bit, it could be that they feel, more than any other player “type”, they are able to most accurately project scoring forwards to the NHL level. As long as they are getting lots of good scoring forward prospects, they should be able to keep the best ones and trade the surplus for help in other areas. Big picture; having a team with a surplus of high end top-6 forwards, but not enough bottom-6 sandpaper types; is probably in a better overall position than a team with a surplus of bottom-6 sandpaper guys, but lacking in high end top-6 guys.
-
Prokhor Poltapov, Olivier Nadeau, Nikita Novikov…… Really, there isn’t that much. I think that’s why we have seen Adams trying to acquire some NHL players with these characteristics….Lyubushkin, Stillman, Greenway.
-
You shouldn’t be worried because even if they do regress a tad, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Greenway, Power, Jokiharju, Comrie, and UPL are all going to take their turn at breakout seasons.
-
I mean this in the most sincere way: I think that you should watch his current play more closely. What you are saying was much more true 2-3 years ago, but I don’t think it’s accurate any longer. Mittelstadt has gotten a lot stronger and he is not a small player. 6’1” 200 lbs and he uses his size much better than he used to. I don’t think it’s a weakness of his any longer.
-
Regarding the press conference, nah, that’s just how he talks with the media. For example, this post game presser from over a year ago. His team had just won 7-4 and he went to podium wearing a goofy shirt with Kevin Fiala’s face on it. He still barely cracked a smile. Same energy and mannerisms. https://www.nhl.com/wild/video/greenway-postgame-vs-detroit/t-277437412/c-10574088

Combination of things I’d say. 1) At this point they probably don’t care about the reg season that much. They are not going to go all out all season, just want to get ready for the playoffs. 2) They have played 71 playoff games over the past 3 seasons. It takes a toll. 3) They just don’t have it going right now.

Yeah, as a couple people just said, The Last of Us is really good. I hadn’t watched any, and I watched the first 6 episodes over the past couple weeks. I think Pedro Pascal is great (he was also fantastic in Game of Thrones). -
My daughter is learning to talk. Some times she will come out with something and I’ll wonder in amazement where she even learned that word. Sometimes she will put 3 coherent words together and I’ll feel so proud of how far she has come. Sometimes she uses words completely wrong. Sometimes I have no idea what she is trying to say. I pretty much feel the same way about Rob. 😂
