    I think we saw flashes in Lehner last year of what he'll be consistently this season. There's nothing I love more than an athlete who is supremely focused on proving their talent to not only to everyone else but also themselves. After last season's many setbacks I can't see the game to game ebbs and flow really knocking him off his game. Though it could be wishful thinking, but I must say that it feels incredible to truly believe in the Sabres again.

    I can see Okposo having a career year next year and hitting 30. Other than that, I think Eichel will as well with Kane being the dark horse and surprising everyone by hitting 26.

    I for one am completely sold on Lehner. The games he did play (while recovering) were good to great and everything I've read about him says he's a never say die, never quit kind of player. I don't think he'll miss a moment of PT or training and spend every day working and getting back up to top form. I wouldn't be surprised if he blows all expectations out of the water and he strikes me as the kind of guy that is motivated by people doubting him instead of letting it shake his confidence.

    Good riddance. His shoot first before looking if a play can develop isn't needed. His me first attitude on the ice and off the ice doesn't fit with the team we're developing. Don't give him away for free but a this point, any addition we can get in an area of need is a bonus. And it'll be all the more space to lure Vesey.

    My 2 cents. For long term view I actually hope he does sign with Toronto. Reason being is that Toronto will overpay and I think Stamkos is a phenomenal player but he will never produce to his contract size. I think he may have 1 more 40 goal season in him but that will quickly decline. 2nd, having the albatross of his contract around their neck makes it harder to sign the players they're developing in the future. I think Stamkos would make Toronto great in the short term, but kill them long term and playing them 5 times a season is going to be a baptism by fire for the next few years which overall I think will strengthen our team. The hardest steel is forged by the hottest fires. My guess is that as we're hitting our prime as a team, Toronto would be declining hard. If we do sign him I hope to god we do not include a NMC. Offer him all the money in the world, but if he's not producing up to his contract, expose him in the expansion draft. Maybe not to Vegas, but to Seattle when they come around. Could get his contract off your neck right as you're signing Jack and Sam to their long term deals. But in all fairness I'll be more excited when we sign Risto long term than if we sign Stamkos.

    But this still leaves the D wide open. I don't wanna see us as a barely better version of Edmonton. Gotta be calm. in GMTM I shall trust...

    I love late games. I'm in the Florida panhandle so I'm an hour behind you guys. Some nights (like tonight) I don't get out of work until 8:30 so I had time to cook and sit down before it starts.

    Not in the effort department, but in the locker room, ect. I think we saw a flash of it on his assist to Samson for the hat trick, and I think given more responsibility he could really connect even further and become an even greater player.

    We weren't making the playoffs this season anyway. This is a great opportunity for Jack and Samson to step up and carry on how to persevere without ROR there. I'm actually curious to see if Kane will step up a bit. I think a little responsibility and being depended on to lead would do him wonders.

    I posted this in the Columbus GDT, but I would love to say it again: He's absolutely worth the 1st for entertainment value alone. The fact that he's actually good is just gravy. I love every game he starts because it almost feels like we have a caged animal in net that will go berserk at any moment and tear through the opposing team in a flurry of claws and teeth. I can't say whether or not he'll be elite or not and if he'll be our goalie for a cup run or not. I certainly hope he is. Regardless, right now every game he's in is entertaining and I ADORE his intensity. He is the exact opposite personality of Miller in every way. Opposing players are intimidated and afraid of our goalie. It's great seeing the team have his back, but it's amazing to see someone who can handle his **** himself and also have his teammates backs. One day someone will be stupid enough to drop the gloves with him. On that day angels shall weep for his opponent.

    Sure seems like it. You just know that GMTM is going to do something now. If we had gotten off to a great start, I'd say hey can sit on his hands, but not with Kane sitting out. Which is a shame because we don't need to trade anymore assets for temporary solutions. My guess is that the goalie situation is handled.

    God this team is 1000x more entertaining this year. Playing this well in a next day game is a pleasant surprise. Though I agree with the sentiment that I just don't see Eichel and Kane ever truly forming an amazing chemistry. I can honestly see him on Samson's wing developing a truly frightening chemistry.
