Tampa is home through the trade deadline. Why make Miller fly back to Buffalo, let him stay in Florida and enjoy the weather. -

One of the few posters who have been dead on about this team is trolling? Right :flirt: -

Welcome to Sabres Space's "Scrub of The Game!" Instead of a fur coat the winner has to wear Ennis and Gerbe like earmuffs. -

This is such fanboi thing to say. What ever "attitude" he is bringing to the "locker-room" isn't reflected on the ice. -

Lieno is a reputation based on the one playoffs he had with 10 goals and 21 points. He's another Fernado Pisani, 14 goals 4 assists for the 2005-06 Oilers. -

He was a scrub player that had one average year in Philly while that team was carried by Briere, Giroux, Carter and Richards. -

This is very true. They overpaid a marginal player to come here and play out of position. It is what it is. It was a panic move after they found out they had zero chance at Richards. -

Maybe a "top 6" on this Sabres team, not a "top 6" on a team with talent. -

Maybe people harp on the coaching because deep down people know that the man in charge of the roster won't be making any significant changes. It's as if it's their last shred of hope. -

As I am sitting here watching a meaningless game in March between two bad hockey teams I have to wonder, could you build a playoff team if you combined the team the Sabres dressed tonight and the team the Panthers dressed tonight? Looking over the rosters, I don't think it is possible. Even without salary cap restrictions, I don't think it's possible. -
This move may put the Bruins in overdrive to get something done. The boys in WGR were throwing around the idea of Vanek to Boston. The next few days should be interesting.

Just something about the name gives me the chills.

I am wondering if Miller, and goalies in general, have any value at all?

Why not target Florida? I wonder what it would take to get their 1st round pick? It would be a bold move that wouldn't come cheap. I'd be willing to pay any price to see the Sabres enter next years draft with two of the top picks. It would be like Burke getting the Sedin twins.

There is no magic "formula" to winning. I do believe there are sound base principles in which to build a team that will give you a greater chance of winning. IMO, it starts with defining the type of players you want to bring into the organization. Asset management is also very important. From drafting and player development to free agency and the trade market. It is important to develop a solid team identity and seek out those players that fit that identity.

Finish in the bottom three and you don't have to give up anything.
-
Why give up additional assets unnecessarily? Exactly.

How many Stanley Cups has he won?

As a Sabres fan, at this very moment what would you rather have, a first round loss to the Rangers last season or Mikhail Grigorenko in the Sabres pipeline?
-
There has to be a certain level of consistent winning to lure quality free agents. If the Sabres make a run to 8th place I don't think it will effect the signing of free agents. When it comes to quality free agents like Ehrhoff, it's going to take a heavily front loaded contract. I've already said I'd rather see the Sabres finish in the bottom three. Not just because of the players available at the top of the draft, the Sabres would be picking at the top of every round. Those picks would have increased value if they were used to acquire players via trade or even to move up in the draft.

When exactly did I do that?
