It was a delayed off-sides until the Bruins cleared the zone. Not sure where the confusion is coming from? Stop the video right at the 8 sec mark, it clearly shows Lucic about to enter the zone as Horton hits the blue-line.

It's about opportunity, the Wild are in pretty bad shape cap wise, Clutterbuck may end up being a casualty. If he is available the Sabres need to jump all over it. If he was under contract and the wild had cap space i wouldn't even consider this as possible.

Clutterbuck is nothing like the "3rd line talent" that currently floods this roster. He is basically a Steve Ott clone. This teams needs a new core. A core starting with Ott and Clutterbuck is a far better option than anything else on this current roster. I would waive Tropp and Flynn to make room for Clutterbuck, he's on a far different level.

Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly and Andre Reed where drafted before Polian became GM.

Why don't you just admit you have no idea who Cal Clutterbuck is and what he brings to the rink on a nightly basis. Cal Clutterbuck is a player that makes the franchise better. Exactly! Just imagine Clutterbuck and Ott flying around the ice hitting anything that moves. Let's go way overboard and imagine Ryane Clowe on the left side of Ott and Clutterbuck. That would entertainment on an insane level.

Here, watch the replay. Stop the replay at exactly 8:00, Horton clears the zone before Lucic enters the zone negating the off-sides. It was a close call, still, no off-sides. Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhBZ2K0JwSM

His age and style of play would make him a great target for the Sabres. In a dream scenario the Sabres get out from under the Leino contract and use that money on a player like Clutterbuck. I would even be willing to see the Sabres overpay for Clutterbuck in both a trade for his rights and a contract extension.

Great win by the Blackhawks and a great effort by the Bruins. I don't believe it's going out on a limb saying that both these teams are not done winning Stanley Cups. The way these teams are built has them in position for some long term success. No one should be surprised if these teams hook up again in the Finals in the very near future. In the short term. Long term they will have many chances to get another Cup. It was a great series and the NHL and their fans should be proud of the product that was displayed these playoffs. it really made up for all that lockout nonsense. In a Sabres perspective, the Finals were a bit frightening. It shows how ridiculously far the Sabres are from being a contender for the Stanley Cup.

If this a failed attempt at a joke? Kovalchuk has been one of the best players in the league since he signed that contract and had a bit if a slow start. He was a big part of their run to the Eastern Conference title and it is no surprise the Devils fell out of the playoffs when he got hurt last season. He has proven to be a great value at a cap hit less than Thomas Vanek. It is insulting to Kovalchuk to include him in a conversation regarding Ville Leino. You pay for production. Kovalchuk has not only produced he has also matured in his overall game. He is no Selke candidate, he is also no Briere in his own end. Kovalchuk is by far the best big ticket free agent signing in recent years. What is "reasonable" about retaining a bad hockey player with a horrible contract? Ville Leino and is contract are the only things that make Drew Stafford and his contract look like a great value. I should have said, "will be" not "are". Once reporters start questioning why Ville Leino is still on the roster, I can see them using the "he wasn't eligible because of the rehab" excuse. Thanks!

I believe it was once was Vasilis. We went there out of the blue and were pleasantly surprised.

Maybe they should, maybe they wouldn't have missed the playoffs 7 of the last 11 years. With this front office's track record they really shouldn't be disregarding any outside opinions.

Went to a new place on Kenmore Ave this morning called the Howling Rooster Cafe. The wife had some very tasty Eggs Benedict and I has something called the Roo-ben Omelet which was a omelet made with all the ingredients of a classic Reuben. Everything tasted really fresh and homemade. I have no association to this place other that i would like to see it stick around for a while, good breakfast is hard to find. Here is a Yelp review" http://www.yelp.com/biz/howling-rooster-cafe-buffalo

Forget the Ice Girls, Foligno and the #8 to Florida & Hodgson and the #16 to Tampa for some of their hot female fans to stick in the crowd at Sabre games. Every time MSG pans the audience in Buffalo it looks like a pro-wrestling crowd.
-
If you want to go there, I'd give up all our 1st and 2nd round picks over the next three seasons to Detroit for their entire front office.
-
Pardon my tin foil hat, my first thought on this is that they are using the "rehabbing" angle to avoid criticism for not using the compliance buyout on him.
-
If Pegula came over and painted your house and put down a new carpet would your feelings change? It worked for the Sabres, look at all the top end free agents and coaches banging on the doors of 'Hockey Heaven."
-
The LA Clippers are giving up a #1 pick to the Boston Celtics for head coach Doc Rivers. Is there a head coach in the NHL anyone would be willing to give up a #1 pick for? Outside of Detroit I really can't think of anyone.
-
He has four years left at $15 mil which counts as $18 mil against the cap. It's "symbolic' because it is a horrible mistake of a move that this franchise needs to move away from. When did he have surgery?
-
His cap is $18 mil, his actual salary is $15 mil. Leino's contract is symbolic of a poorly run organization.

I will agree, I really need to step up my trolling game to get on the level of some on this board. I left off the name to not embarrass the author. :P
-
Obviously the stats are skewed by a couple of bad games. :w00t:
-
If only I could "troll" on this level. ;)
-
Would it even be noticeable at this point? Certainly not to a point where passing up on a chance to get younger and save some some cap space should be disregarded.
-
22nd in goals against and 30th in shots allowed, just saying.

Will the Sabres ever catch a break?
