  1. I believe Paul Hamilton nailed this one on the head. The jersey manufacturer has their logo at the bottom of the jersey, considering the money they pay for the rights to make the jerseys it's understandable that they would want their logo visible. I don't think we have to worry about other logos appearing in the near future.

    KALETA

Different player in a different situation.

    KALETA

If Kaleta wasn't already a Sabre I doubt anyone would give him any consideration. He's here, he already has the uniform and equipment so they might as well keep him. He's not a player that is going to make or break this franchise by his presence or lack there of. By the time this franchise is ready to really compete, Kaleta will likely be part of a 'Where are they now" article.
  4. His paycheck?
  5. I would think the majority of football fans in the area know where this team is at this point. The Bills beat a below average team on Sunday with an exciting finish, a finish which should do wonders for their rookie QB's confidence going forward. I don't think that means that a large portion of the fan base is putting money aside for playoff tickets. It's going to take a few seasons to fill out the roster and learn how to walk as they say. 2013 is about EJ Manuel, if the kid turns out to be the player fans hope he will be it will allow the Bills to concentrate on other areas instead of searching for a QB which they have done for what seems to be an eternity. 10 receptions for 104 yards while being "double covered" tells you the Bills had issues in the secondary. The Pats receivers had 21 receptions in the game which really should have been closer to 30 if Tompkins didn't have his issues with the ball. Not to take anything away from Amendola because he had a nice game, he is a cog in the machine known as the Patriots offense.
  6. Edelman has 7 receptions for 79 yards and 2 TDs. Vereen had a 101 yards on 14 carries and 7 receptions for 58 yards. The Bills had 5 receptions total by wide receivers. The better team found a way to win when they weren't at their best. Amendola or not, Brady and the Patriots would have found a way.
  7. It's not as bad as John Murphy saying "the most underrated play of the game was the two point conversion" about 5 minutes after the game.
  8. They got bitten by their own lack of aggressiveness. Some were complaining last week that the Bills should have done exactly what the Panthers did this week.
  9. It was the best defensive call I've seen by the Bills in a long long time. It's makes all the sense in the world. It's a long developing play with an offensive line that has had difficulty protecting the QB. I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes a new trend.
  10. I wouldn't expect the Patriots to be as bad over the final 14 as they were the first 2 weeks. It's taking time for the new receivers to get n the the same page as Brady and they are in need to find a safety valve outlet out of the backfield or TE. At some point it is all going to click for the Patriots. Good teams seem to find ways to make it work.
  11. This. You can't give a team like the Patriots that many free yards. I like that the Bills didn't "slow it down" in the fourth quarter. This is a team looking to define their identity offensively.
  12. Should fans of a football team that lost four straight Super Bowls ever use the word "choking" in a derogatory manor against another team or player? Especially when that player has a Super Bowl ring? Seems a bit foolish. Good Luck to the Buffalo Bills today. A win maybe a little too much to ask for. I am hoping to see a good game plan, good coaching decisions/time management and the elimination of the killer penalties at the worst possible times. This would give me hope that we are entering a "new era" in Bills history and not just a different chapter in the same old book.
  13. EJ Manuel is being put into a tough position, IMO. As a rookie coming off an injury and missing valuable time in his first pre-season I have concerns about his readiness. Being against the Patriots likely meaning the Bills are going to have score a bunch to keep the game close is an unenvible position. On the other hand, if EJ Manuel leads the Bills to victory? The legend of EJ Manuel begins.
  14. Has there ever been a QB with such a complete command of an offense? Brady may have the title rings, from a pure football knowledge standpoint, I don't know if anyone comes close to Manning?
  15. It's not like he was 100% effort guy prior to the contract.
  16. It sucks, but when I read your post my first thought was "why would he sign with the Sabres?" I know it sucks, I dream of the day where I can look over the list of available free agents and not cross off 65% of the list because I doubt they would even consider coming to the Sabres.
  17. It's official. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/9593789/mikhail-grabovski-play-washington-capitals Good signing for the Caps.
  18. Does the NFL credit individual players with wins/loses? I thought only coaches get credit for wins/loses.
  19. Right place at the right time in Philly. I don't think the Bills need an excuse to proceed with caution with EJ Manuel. The worst thing they could do is to rush this kid back from any procedure no matter how minor. He's only in the opening weeks of his career, sacrifice a few weeks in exchange for many hopefully healthy years. Kolb is a journeyman, he knows it, the Bills know it and most fans know it. He's a veteran QB who knows any time he has as a starter is borrowed.
  20. Really? There is no saying the Sabres would even have a one goal lead going into the third period. If you want to offer a theoretical account of what may have happened in game seven you have to factor in that any theoretical changes of events would start at the opening face-off not just the third period. Let's use your logic. It the Sabres defense was healthy, than Fitzpatrick would not have been on the ice in OT of game #6 to pass the puck to Briere for the game winning goal.
  21. Resorting to the nonsensical so soon? Brian Campbell's first penalty happened a 1:46 of the first period, are you suggesting he was gassed after a minute and 46 seconds? Talk about trying too hard. He didn't need to. The Sabres had other d-men like Lydman who played 24:27 in game #7 after playing 27:41 in game #6. Not to mention one of the AHL d-men scored one of the two Sabre goals on the night. Even Fitzpatrick did a good job over his 44 minutes of ice time in games 6 & 7. And you'd be right. They do however play on the PP and manged no shots on four attempts including a crucial 2 minute power play with 4;35 left in the game. 82 game regular season and 4 rounds of best of seven, the road to the Stanley Cup is as much a game of attrition as it is anything else. In the end the Sabres broke down. The Canes played a tough 25 games and ended up hoisting the Stanley Cup. Maybe it's time for Sabre fans to grow up a bit and respect the effort. Maybe someday it will be the Sabres hoisting the Cup, I would hate to hear people crying about luck and injuries, it's just weak.
  22. They still had Campbell for game 7. They also had Briere, Drury. Dumont, Roy and Pominville. The Sabres lost the series because they went 0-4 on the power play in game seven while not recording 1 shot on the power play not because of injuries. I did answer the question.
  23. You're assuming what happened in the series is what the Canes "needed" to win the series. It's like the Hull foot in the crease. There is this automatic assumption that Sabres would have gone on to win.
  24. Seems like Eleven missed the point. The Canes out scored the Sabres on the season. Canes had a 40+ goal, three 30+ goal and two 20 goal scorers. The Sabres had one 30+ and five 20+ goal scores. Sabres look back on that Sabres team as an offensive juggernaut, the Canes were a little better even though the Sabres may been more balanced.
