GDT - Ryan Miller's first NHL game not as a Sabre 8:00pm
deluca67 replied to SwampD's topic in The Aud Club
Predictions: Ott and Roy start their run as the most prolific tandem in NHL history. Miller gets the W but loses the shutout in the final minutes on a soft goal scored by Tim Kennedy who has recently changed his legal name to Sidney Crosby. -
I wonder if Nolan banged PLF?

Patty was on the job for 108 days and won ZERO Stanley Cups, he had to go.

The US should take a queue from the Russians and start rolling tanks into Arizona. Those are people that should not be left to their own devices.

Cap space is an asset for this team that needs to be used wisely. The Sabres should target teams nearing the cap ceiling looking to free up space. I am talking older players with only a year left. possible two defending on the player and the position. Players that can be flipped at the deadline or just allowed to walk at the end of the season.

Lafontaine stepping down because he wanted more say in player personnel is like a WalMart greeter getting up set because they won't let him stock the shelves. Lafontaine was brought in for a specific reason and given a title he was woefully unqualified for. At the end of the day, as they say, this will all be much to do about nothing. I am frankly more interested in hearing that Ehrhoff was asked to submit 8 teams for his NTC list.

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
deluca67 replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
It's a performance based decision. Lack has let in 2 goals over his past three starts. Luongo is 0-5 his last five starts with a gga about 3.50 over his last six. -
What are the Sabres actually losing here? Lafontaine was a familiar face that made people feel good, hockey wise it's not a big loss.

Relax all, it will be fine. Just wait until I am (cough cough), I mean, an announcement is made. ;)

When evaluating Chris Stewart and his future with the Sabres may I remind all who the head coach is of the Sabres. IMO, Chris Stewart's size and game makes him the prototypical Ted Nolan player. The Blues will be my non-Sabres playoff team this year. I wish all the best to Miller & Ott. I like Stewart, but if he can be flipped for a Zibanejad I'd be OK with that. A 20 year with size that I can see as a 20-30 goal scorer in the future.

With Miller now gone, you would think that Stafford at some point will wonder what he has done to his own value as a player. Seeing all of his friends/team mates moving on he has to think at some point "why not me?"

"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition

Agreed. There are far more pressing matters that need to be addressed unless a team comes in with an offer that blows the Sabres away for either player. -
"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition
deluca67 replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
When this team is ready to contend Ennis & Hodgson will either be role players or gone. They are not top end forwards and certainly not the players to lead a team into a brighter future. Upgrading the forwards is a must. I'd like to hope if Murray has a similar list that Stewart and Myers are not on it. I like Stewart and he could be a solid piece of a foundation. As I said before, there is no reason trade Myers. That's a decision that can be made well down the road. He's locked into a contract and his value at this point is less than optimal. He's getting the his game turned around, it's in the Sabres best interest to see if he can get his game completely turned around. -
This is a very good deal for the Sabres. They get a decent prospect, a 1st round pick and a potential additional 1st round. Halak is a piece to be moved later. At 26 years old, an extension for Stewart should become a priority. He has all the attributes a team looks for. This is a guy I can see part of something special when this team is taking that step to contender status 3-4 years from now. Good job by TM. Looking forward to more moves.

Being a "top scorer" on the worst roster in franchise history is not the distinction you are making it out to be. -
That you Harold, for all of the laughs.

Nolan kicked John Scott out of practice this morning

I never figured John Scott to be a guy who practiced. -
Democracy is the establishment of a system that allows every person to have a voice. 1 person, 1 voice & 1 vote. Under Democracy a person on welfare has the same voice as a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. At least that is how it is supposed to work. As capitalism spreads that voice of the individual is silenced. Capitalism is a system based on wealth and influence. Under Capitalism you have the development of a class system almost to a point of monarchy type structure. You have a small percentage of the population that dictates policy by exerting their wealth and influence. It's not a party bias, there are billionaires and millionaires at the top of the Republican and Democratic parties. The real difference is the willingness to throw the common people a bone once in awhile. Democracy at this point is an ideology that is currently on life support. Capitalism is slowly choking the life out the Democracy that was once the United Stated of America. It's the millions spent on superpak adds or the $100's of millions of dollars being spent to pass voter suppression laws or the demonizing of the impoverished it's a constant barrage of the basic core value of Capitalism where your worth as a citizen is based upon your monetary worth.

The Constitution is a declaration of Democracy not Capitalism. Capitalism is the opposite of Democracy.

It helps give health coverage to those that don't have any. I'd gladly pay a little more in taxes if it means health care coverage for others. Maybe we are putting the wrong people in prison. Instead of fattening up prosecution numbers with minor pot dealers, lets fill prisons with the real scum of the earth, the corporate head Wall Street types that steal billions each year from unsuspecting investors and that cheat all of us by failing to pay the taxes they owe. Put them in cells next to the corporate heads that use lame excuses to cut employee benefits while collecting ridiculous bonus from companies that record record profits year after year.
-
I'd much rather see my tax dollars go to providing healthcare to all that seek it than funding the war machine. Going to the County lockup is a great idea. These are people likely without healthcare.

I got $25. Four more people and we can own a failed professional hockey player.

I am not a fan of the Carl character and thought this episode was by far the slowest and least interesting of the entire series. They have so many interesting characters and directions they could go, did we really need to watch Carl whine and cry for 40 minutes. The only saving grace of the episode was Michone letting loose on the group of walkers and the dream she had. Hopefully it picks up tonight with emphasis on the other survivors.
