"Accidental bad hit", is that Latin for intentionally going after a star players head? A playoff team would have more interest in Kassian's physical game than Hodgson's floating and bloated contract.
-
Or, which is the more likely scenario, is that he didn't think the hit was enough to warrant being rejected from the game.
-
How many games did Ericksson miss again? The "trade" looks better every time Cody Hodgson floats around the ice disinterested which is pretty much most nights. Which is far more often that Kassian's indiscretions.
-
We're talking fractions of a second. I would think it would be near impossible to disengage once the decision is made to throw the hit no matter was the target does. Looking at Kassian's reaction he knew right away he screwed up. He didn't give the bewildered John Scott "what do mean I can't elbow a player in the head from behind" look like he did after the attack on Ericksson.

Kassian, like Kaleta, is reckless, as you pointed out Scott has one job on the ice which makes his actions deliberate.

GAME DISCUSSION THREAD GDT: Buffalo at Florida 3-7-14 at 7:30 PM EST

It was a panic signing once they were frozen out of the Richards derby. Let's not pretend it was anything other than that. -
When did I ever say Kaleta was "bad?" I wouldn't lump Kaleta and Scott together. Kaleta does have some hockey skills and can play a regular shift. You seem to have forgone accuracy in an attempt to somehow legitimize John Scott as a hockey player. If you want to have a discussion regarding Kaleta and Kassian I'm up for it. Let's just not embarrass either player by comparing them to John Scott.

Would anyone trade Tyler Myers to the Oilers for their 2014 1st round pick?

People have been worried for a long time about the goaltending if Miller ever left. IMO, the Sabres have a couple of 25 year old net minders they can go forward with. -

Yeah, this is some pretty poor officiating tonight. Did Nolan bang Dave Lewis' wife last night or something? -
If Scott ever took the time to learn how to play hockey.

The Penguins were bad for 4 seasons before their turnaround and the Blackhawks missed the playoffs 9 years out of 11 before their turnaround. The idea that their turn arounds were quick is just not true.

Buffalo HAS to bring in 1 leader for next year (with talent)
deluca67 replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
The best course of action is to take all the names listed thus far in this thread, write them on a sheet of paper than take that paper crumble it up and toss it in the trash. The Sabres are at the early stages of rebuilding, there is no need to fill the roster with over paid or over the hill vets. The Sabres need to be focused on the draft. The only way the Sabres should even consider bringing a "vet" is the way they did it with Stewart. Find a player with term and age that fits into what you are trying to build and trade for them. -
When you play with an edge you will occasionally step over that edge. One of the problems with Hodgson is that he has no edge and plays with zero urgency.
-
No to 9th and No to the playoffs. They just completed stripping down the roster. The step is cashing in on all those assets they have accumulated.

Give Tallinder a one year $25 million extension.
-
I believe the six players have 5 Stanley Cup rings between them.
-
Three of the six players ended up having long HOF quality careers.
-
That was never a realistic time frame. If you believed it could take on 2 or 3 years you underestimated the damage Regier had done. The stripping down is finally complete.

Maybe Johnathan Parker was also the guy in charge of web casts.
