Gionta gets the 'C'. Stafford and Moulson get an 'A.' Also, I think Stafford gets an extension.

Love the name and the pic. I'd take Johansen and Ryan any day and everyday. High level established NHL talent is always the better play.

The Chargers are the better team, I have no doubt about that. This game in San Diego and i would consider the Bills huge underdogs. Luckily the game is not in San Diego. The Chargers are making the cross country trip and a physical game against Seattle in 110-115 degree heat. I can't imagine they would be fully recovered physically after just a week's time. The Bills need to play a physical game against the Chargers. A steady diet of Jackson, Spiller and Dixon should be on the menu. If Manuel can take of the ball continue making smart decisions the Bills should win this game. Phillip Rivers is no Ryan Tannehill, Rivers will make plays and keep the Chargers in the game. Field goals in the red zone won't cut it. Prediction: Bills 24 Chargers 20

Obama was able to provide health care to millions which makes him the best President we have had in my life time, probably best since JFK. Congress, crippled by Republican obstructionism, is historically bad, Obama is the only adult in Washington we have working to move this Country forward.

Bills - 30 Dolphins - 14 I've never seen a more over-rated team after just one week than the Dolphins. They are favored in a divisional road game because they beat the Patriots at home. As each week goes by that victory over the Patriots is going to look less impressive. At the same time the Bills beating the Bears in Chicago is going to get more respect. Emotion and a strong running game carries the day for the Bills.

Any previous expectations of Grigorenko need to be tossed out the window. Grigorenko is a player who can be a valuable part of the future of this franchise even if he doesn't live up to the initial expectations of being a #1 pick. IMO, if Grigorenko settles into a Curtis Brown like 3rd line center he would be of great value to the Sabres.

Prediction time: Bills 27 - Bears 17 It's been a while since Bills Nation has been on such a high level of panic over pre-season football. Pre-season football is nothing more than televised practice drills. I like the talent on defense and they have the most talent on offense they have had since those guys Kelly, Thomas and Reed suited up. My only concern about Manuel is him avoiding hits and staying healthy. The keys to the season are: Jackson & Spiller each gaining 1,000 yards. Mario Williams building on last years resurgence. EJ Manuel playing 16 games. 4-2/5-1 division record which I believe is very doable. Take care of the games at home and they have some very winnable games on the road in Chicago, Houston and Oakland. I'm predicting right now a 10-6 season for the Bills. Taking a step back and looking at it minus the frustration of the past two decades and all the white noise from this years pre-season, I see this schedule as a very favorable schedule for a team like the Bills to end up with 10 wins.

Not just a first, likely a top 10 first next year.

I agree with this sentiment. I had zero expectations for any of the players listed in the poll. My most disappointing player: Pierre Turgeon. A franchise needs to get more than 5 seasons and zero playoff victories out of the #1 overall pick. They ended up trading him for LaFontaine who couldn't stay healthy. They got 2 1/2 great seasons out the six he was Sabre out of LaFontaine. That pick was cursed.

Prediction time: Which player will take the biggest step up in 2014-15?
deluca67 replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
Reinhart across the board. The Sabres are overdue to have a rookie forward make a huge impact. -
Hasek, IMO, was a "generational" player. He may have not gone the traditional route to becoming one but he was as dominant as any forward or even blueliner. Hasek was very important to the Sabres as Perreault was before him. There is a stability that comes with having a "generational player." One of the biggest aspects of having that type of player is the feeling that you always have a chance no matter the odds or the opponent. It's been a while since the Sabres had a player that could carry the team on his back.

And undo all the work the Republican Party has done over the past 50 years? They would never allow it.

This is a tragedy that can easily get much much worse. Having the protesters going back at the officers is a absolute worst case scenario for both sides.

We are seeing an escalation from police (or peace) officer to soldier. There are way too many instances in the news recently where officers are looking for confrontations instead of diffusing them. There are citizens in Ferguson that are angry and have a voice that needs to be heard. The only job the police officers have in that situation is to make sure no one gets hurt, not to confront.

I love the music Kurt Cobain made, I hate Kurt Cobain because of all the great music he cheated me out of. It's perfectly natural to be angry or judge. Performers like Cobain or Robin Williams live theirs lives trying to reach as many people as they can, make that connection that they ride to great heights of success. If you are one of those people they reach and touch through their art it is a natural reaction to feel frustration and anger when they take it away by their own hand.

I believe this to be 100% true, if you intentionally kill another human being you can never truly be a Christian or a Muslim. I am not a religious man, I do see the value in the solace of spirituality for those that find it. Christian and Muslim have become hollow words that far too many people use. I wonder if the 'rapture" ever comes if anyone will notice because the number of those who ascend to their god will be so small. We live in a country where "Law Enforcement" is turning into just 'Enforcement."

Which Team was Closer to Winning the Stanley Cup?
deluca67 replied to LastPommerFan's topic in The Aud Club
If not for the Islanders dynasty 1979-80 team we may have spent the last 34 years celebrating that Stanley Cup. I'll also throw out the Sabres 1992-93 Buffalo Sabres team that beat Boston and lost to the eventual Cup winners in Montreal was as close as any team the Sabres put on the ice to winning a Cup.- 52 replies

Sadly, I do not believe the extremists in this country would allow a woman President on the heels of a black President. That would be too much for some to take. Clinton could certainly win a Presidential election, I just have serious doubts she could survive the campaign.

This is the priced paid for genius it appears. Robin Williams is yet another victim of his own talents. The ability to see the world in such a way that daily life becomes unbearable. I don't think any of us will ever fully understand why the likes of Robin Williams, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and others who create so much art feel the need to destroy themselves in the process. It's Faustian in a way.

It's time to take down the Statue of Liberty. She has clearly lost all of her meaning and symbolism.
-
Not at all, I am simply keeping them in context. You can't ignore the clear restriction the Founding Fathers placed in the 2nd Amendment. The right to bear arms only exists under the restrictions of a well regulated militia. If it's a pretty clear amendment. It what way? I think I have been pretty clear. Because the 2nd Amendment is pretty clear.
-
You can't dance around the words "well regulated militia." If anything it's the right to form a "well regulated militia" not the right to build a personal arsenal. Any]way you want to rewrite it , it stills says the same thing. There is no right "to bear arms" outside of a a "well regulated militia." I thinks the limitations in the 2nd are as clear as the 4th. Protection against "unreasonable" searches and seizures is not an absolute protection against any and all searches seizures just as the 2nd is not an all you can eat guns buffet.
-
The Supreme Court is a political institution swayed by the same influences as any congressman or President. You want me to put more credence into someone's interpretation of what the founding father's intent was over the words of the amendment they drafted? If the founding fathers wanted any individual who wanted to own a gun to own one they would have put that into the amendment. They didn't which tells me they were smart enough to realize how foolish it would be. We are to a point in this country where children are gunning down children, the founding fathers new what they were doing. Any bastardizing of the 2nd amendment is just that, a perversion of a clear well thought out amendment for financial and political gain.
-
If that were the case the 2nd would clearly state the right as an individual right. It's doesn't, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Sabres sign Tyler Ennis to 5 year / $23 M deal
deluca67 replied to Swedesessed's topic in The Aud Club
It would be great for this franchise if a player like Ennis outplayed their contract. It's a different outlook, short and long term, if Myers and Hodgson joined him.
