5-6 years from now I doubt anyone will remember Flynn. But I'll say this, he is the type of player this team needs at this point in time. You need those effort/work ethic type guys when you rebuilding as the Sabres are. As more talented players are added to the roster over the next few years you it's important to have that foundation of hard work and perseverance. I miss the division home and home weekends. I wish the Sabres played more of them. Great job Sabres! 7-7-2 over the last 16 games is decent stretch. Keep it going, things will only get better.

What would help are voter registration cards. It's up to the people of Ferguson to remove those who are in office and that allow the institutional racism exist and put people in place who can change the State laws on lethal force. My heart goes out to the Brown family. I doubt the memory of their son will ever be allowed to rest peacefully. One hope for the Brown family is that Double Jeopardy doesn't apply here. All they would need is a prosecutor who is actually willing to seek charges against their son's murderer.

The Clinton's may very well end up with a 3rd and 4th term. And in all fairness, not many Democratic Presidents had to follow the historically high level of incompetence of GW Bush. The damage GW did to this Country was unprecedented. Obama doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves. Republicans have pretty much rendered Congress useless and yet Obama is getting things done. There has been a bi-partisan bill on immigration sitting in the House for over a year and they did nothing. it took the only adult in Washington to get something done on immigration. Does it solve the entire problem? No. It does put millions of hard working people at ease, people who epitomize the American Dream. This right here is what caused the Democrats to lose the House. Every Democrat across the country should be hitching their wagons to Obama and celebrating the accomplishments.

I've posted the list previously, no problem reminding people what can be done with a grown-up in a position of power in DC. Millions of people have healthcare who otherwise wouldn't. The US went from losing 100,000 jobs a month to gaining 200,000 jobs a month. Unemployment down from double digits to 5.8 in October. The Dow went from under 10,000 to over 17,000. I'm disappointed he couldn't get anything done on serious gun control, I am still hoping there is some type of executive order coming down the line to address that problem. Getting all this and more done while the Republican Party continues their strategy of non-governing is amazing. It's frightening to think where this country would be if Obama wasn't the President. It is a detriment to the future of this country that President Obama can;t seek a third term which would be in the best interest the US.

Game Discussion Thread Sabres at Capitals 11-22-14 7PM
deluca67 replied to spndnchz's topic in The Aud Club
It shouldn't be too far fetched to thing the Sabres can put together a respectable showing over the final 61 games. If the goal-tending holds up and the team stays healthy 25-30 wins over that span isn't out of the question. It could even be a bit better if players like Hodgson, Stewart and Foligno could show up offensively. -
I want a President that is going to continue the great work President Obama has done. That last thing this Country needs is another Bush type ignoring what is best for this Country and not selling out to Corporate interests. For that to be a Republican they would have denounce all that the Republican party stands for.
-
I love this, I say go Republicans. I am looking forward to the Republicans spending the next two years on bullsh!t like this. They have no ideas that would move this country forward. Spend the next two years embarrassing themselves guaranteeing a Democrat in the White House no mater who the candidate is.

Coaching not to lose, an inability to adjust to the Dolphin's pass rush in the second half and yet another undisciplined conduct penalty on a positive play did the Bills in. Not the Refs. There was only on marginal call in the game and that was the pass interference penalty. I've seen similar plays called both ways. The punting with less than ten minutes from your opponent's side of the field down by two scores should be the final straw. The Bills should have been in 4 down mode, the play call on third down indicates there plan was to punt if they didn't convert.
-
If the player comes in with a history of fumbles then it is clear that the coaching staff didn't properly address ball security with the player because like the Sammy Watkins play a couple of weeks ago, it should have never happened.
-
The Bills coaching staff knew when they got the ball back there would be about 25-30 seconds left, or at least they should have. How is it possible that when the offense went out there at the end of the game they were completely unprepared? A player's lack of ball security is 100% on the coaching staff. It's about discipline and game awareness which this team is lacking in.

I can sum up my feelings about this head coach in one word. Next!

Win today and things get pretty interesting going into Miami on Thursday. Hope Fred Jackason and Sammy Watkins can go today.

Agree 100%

Not with a $4.6 mil cap hit for this season and the next four. His inability to finish consistently is glaring. Any thoughts that he may be a "top 6" have to be considered wishful thinking at this point. Ennis is a third/fourth line winger, maybe a second unit power play winger. When this franchise turns the corner I just don't see a place for an inconsistent 5' 9" third line winger. He's 25 and in his 5th NHL season, I certainly expect more from Ennis than what he is producing at this point.

GDT: 11/5/2014 Canadiens @ Sabres 7:30pm (MSG,WGR)

This was a really good effort by the Sabres. Again, laying down that foundation of playing good defense. They were able to keep the shots and chances down. They have gotten points in 3 of their last 4 games. Hodgson skated harder last night than any other previous game as a Sabre. Late in the game with the Sabres buzzing and Ennis tries a nifty tip pass and turns the puck over. I hope the coaches drill him in practice today. This team doesn't have the margin of error where a careless play like that can be considered acceptable. -
I guess this means that Darryl was calling Everybody hates Chris from the bushes? I can see him becoming a big part of the story. The community he referred to with the walls is a major part of the comics.

One of the best weeks I've ever had, a combined 22-2-4 for both leagues. -
Nothing realistic or fun about it. I do get it, there has been a long history of hypocrisy on this board. Posters who claim they would never root against their team under any circumstance are doing just that. There is no fun in watching this team lose.

It's just funny how some are proudly wearing a flag that they tried to pin on others over and over again.

The Sabres were doing a decent job keeping the shots down over the first two periods. The third period continues to be a problem. They got the goaltending and did a good job on the PK. The Sabres may not be a better team than Detroits of the NHL, they are good enough to beat them at home. If they can just get the shot totals down then there will be a solid base to be building on. Defense, Goaltending and a solid PK is good way to build especially with so many young players in the line-up and poised to join the line-up over the next few years.

A thread dedicated to rooting against the Sabres? Funny how things change. Wasn't too long ago that posters would claim that's what I and others were doing. Now it seems to be the in thing to do. Which is pretty friggin sad. I may not have liked who was running Sabres or the make up of their roster, I never actively rooted against them.

GDT:11-1-2014 Buffalo at Pittsburgh 7PM, MSG B WGR

Tim Murray has a solid hockey pedigree as does Craig Patrick. -
They shouldn't be, Pittsburgh isn't an overly physical team. I would say Detroit against the Kings on Friday was a far more physical game for Detroit. If the Sabres can be physical and stay out of the box this should be a close game going into the 3rd.

Speaking of movies, I don't think anyone has looked hotter than Julie Warner in "Doc Hollywood." This isn't the Detroit Red Wings we have known over the last 20 or so years. Like the Devils they are off to a good start. They are a good team definitively not unbeatable. last night go away from the Sabres once they started taking penalties. Detroit is not the offensive juggernaut the Penguins are. They are one of the better defensive teams which doesn't bode well for a Sabre team struggling to score goals. Paper thin margin of error for the Sabres. The Moulsons, Giontas and Ennis' on this roster need to bury their chances. They will be chances, not many, but they will be there. Defensively, the Sabres need to clean up the breakdowns.
