After his performance in the WJC, Reinhart's value has to be pretty high right now. Is Reinhart getting close to "untouchable" status? If Edmonton ended up with the #1 overall pick (and the Sabres end up with around the 4th or 5th pick) and they called the Sabres looking for Reinhart and Myers to swap #1 picks, how would most feel about this? IMO, I wouldn't make that deal. Does Grigorenko have any real value at this point? Maybe as a throw in third piece in a trade, you're not structuring a trade around Grigorenko. Reinhart, IMO, has the value to be a centerpiece in trade. If I'm the GM of the Ducks or Blackhawks I'm all over Boston and Lucic making a deal happen. I'm also checking in with the Leafs to see how big of a shakeup are they planning and see if I can pry Kessel away.

Being an old-timer I can remember when the All-Star Games really meant something, to me at least. I would love to see Girgensons play in the All-Star Game, it should be because her earned it not because of the internet version of stuffing ballot boxes. For the record, I am also against idea that every team needs to be represented.

I just came back from brunch at Joe's Deli on Elwood Ave and I have to say what a pleasant surprise it was having never been there before. The Wife and I are tired of all the usual breakfast places and decided to try somewhere new. It was fantastic. I had the "Stuffed Pork" which was bacon wrapped stuffed pork smothered in caramelized apples in a ginger soy glaze served with two poached eggs. I had never tried anything like this before and I am glad I did. The ginger soy apples where such an unusual taste that really enhanced the stuffed pork and poached eggs. I started trying different combinations of the components. I was changing combinations like Scotty Bowman changing lines. Before I knew it the plate was empty. The Wife had the farmers cheese and potato Pierogies with rye toast and a side of bacon. Definitely some of the best Pierogies I have had in a long time. Overall, it was a great experience and reasonably priced. A departure form the same old omelettes and home fires you find at most places. Looking forward to going back and trying the Chicken & Waffles or the Huevos Rancheros. The Waitress was very friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there. I can't county how many times we've gone out to eat and ended with a server that made it seem we were inconveniencing them by just being there. I highly recommend to anyone looking for something really good and a little different.

This what you get when you let fans vote count too much. Fan voting should only account for 1/4. The remainder should be 1/4 coaches/GM's, 1/4 media and 1/4 the players themselves.

If Marrone had Brady, than Brady wouldn't be the QB he has become and have zero Super Bowl rings and zero playoff appearances. If Marrone proved anything in his two years in Buffalo it is he is no offensive genius. Marrone owes Mike Pettine and Jim Schwartz a part of any contract he signs.

First Marrone quits and now the Bills GM from 25 years ago isn't coming back? This New Year is getting better and better.

Lauding a 9-7 record when a better record was there to be had seems backwards to me. Was the goal to get more wins in a season than Jauron or Gailey or was it to make the playoffs. As the season played out the playoffs were there to be had. IMO, with a more aggressive coach we're talking playoff match-ups this week. I absolutely love this point. Yesterday was 4th down and in true Marrone fashion he punted. At the end of the day Marrone quit. He quit on the franchise and on his players. That's a piece of heavy baggage he will have to carry with him for a long time. How does Doug Marrone stand in front of another team and talk about perseverance and never quitting and expect it to carry any weight?

"Proven" coaches get hired all over the NFL and fail. What the Bills need to find is the Right Coach proven or otherwise. One thing we found out over the last two seasons was that Marrone was not the the Right Coach. Hopefully they get it right this time.
-
Even with "minor improvements" the Bills can end up 5-11. You just can't assume that the 2015 season is going to play out as this one did and you can just add a win or two to the total. Are the Bills going to beat a 11 win team next season because their kicker misses all of his field goal attempts? The year to break the playoff drought was this season and coaching was big factor in why it didn't happen.
-
I'd start by looking at candidates who are what Marrone was supposed to be. A modern coach with progressive ideas. What we ended up with was a man who coached like a 70 year old. The Lions, Cardinals and Seahawks all have candidates that deserve a close look.

9-7 record this season, the way the season played out wasn't good enough. The Bills had a real opportunity to be a playoff team and they left wins out on the field. This teams failure to make the playoffs was in no small part due to overly conservative coaching and a lack of player discipline.

Edmonton needs goal-tending and defense. I don't see Myers and picks solving their problems.

This smells like the moves that made Marv Levy and Pat Lafontaine GMs. There has to be someone who is relevant in today's NFL that Terry Pegula can turn to. The idea of the old GM and the pro-personnel director of the worst franchise in the NFL calling the shots is unsettling. It may even be worse idea than naming Marv Levy or Russ Brandon as GM.

I would hate to see another young extremely talented player moved like Hall without the Sabres taking a serious run at him. In the past the excuse was always that the Sabres didn't have the assets to get a deal done. The Sabres now have the assets. There surely is a deal to be made that doesn't bankrupt the future and the Sabres would be getting a 23 year old that could grow with this franchise. If there is one lingering concern it's that Hall is a more talented Hodgson. Are the Oilers trying got maximize an asset or is getting Hall off the roster the primary goal.

I honestly believe this coaching thinks a punt is a positive play for the offense.

I have Jerry Hughes in a pool on which player will take the killer undisciplined misconduct penalty this week.

What if Sarah Maclachlan sang Angel in the background?

4th and 2 at midfield? How going for it and trying to keep Rodgers off the field!
-
I biggest hope for today's game is that the coaching staff doesn't continue to hurt this team. Overly conservative decision making will get this team beat by 40. Field position means nothing against the packers. They can go 80 yards seemingly as easy as they can go 20 for a score. Any punts from the Packers side of the mid-field stripe is a major final for this coaching staff no matter the down and distance. Here's to hoping this head coach packed his balls and has them on the sidelines with him today.

That's not an unreasonable price considering Myers will only be 25 this February. Watching Myers you see the talent, if or when that switch goes on and his game comes together he will be one of the top d-men in the league. The price listed here is equal to the possible rewards. Any team trading for Myers is trading for the player they believe he will become, not the player he is at this point.

GDT: Panthers @ Sabres, 12/13/2014, 7:00 pm, MSG

The Panthers currently hold the second Wildcard slot, a win tonight and the Sabres could end up only 5 points back. -
Sabres are winning. Why are prices still so low?

It's likely a combination of things. Low expectations going into the season, the Bills season being alive into December and sports fans being creatures of habit. I would think that when the Bills season is over, over meaning their playoff chances are dead, the focus will turn to the Sabres. -
Again I feel the need to point out the continued pattern of undisciplined penalties under this Head Coach. You can't give teams like the Broncos free yards. 13:00 minutes to go and down by 3 TD's and this offense is at the same pace as if it were the beginning of the 1st quarter. Where was the urgency?

There is huge a difference. This team under Regier was stagnant with little hope for the future. I look at this roster and the assets this team has yet to spend, not to mention the young players which should be hitting the roster in the very near future and I have all the faith and hope in this franchise I could never muster when Regier was in charge. A team on the rise has far more to offer it's fans than a team mired in the status quo.

With all the picks, next year's draft is going to be huge for the future of this franchise even if they don't pick top 2. I understand the sentiment and I agree. Not sure Grier or Barnes are the best examples because, IMO, they were far for more talented than Flynn is.
