  1. History will determine who that "best player" is, not draft position.
  2. "equivalent low to a Stanley Cup High" is two torturous seasons just to end up with the next Alexandre Daigle instead of the next Sidney Crosby. The greater the expectations the greater chance of disappointment.
  3. I wouldn't consider Grigorenko "depth." Tim Murray has to take a hard look at the kid and decide if they want to invest any more time. If he were a Tim Murray pick I would say it is likely. Being a Regier pick, Murray can a bit less patient.
  4. Sure, why not? They already have the jersey made.
  5. The only meaning the emails have is as a sign that the GOP/conservatives have nothing to hang their hat on for the 2016 Elections.
  6. At 35 years old each, I don't any return would be that high. Wilson should go to each and ask to move the NTC, if they refuse, I bring that to ownership and advise it is in the franchises best interest to buy out or just release. This team should have been handed over to Pavelski and Couture years ago. The two older vets are holding the franchise back.
  7. It's meaningless in the larger scheme of things. The ridiculous letters the GOP in congress continue to write is a real scandal to the point of being treacherous. It is a far greater crime to try and sabotage this countries foreign policy than it is using the wrong email account. The two are not even close.
  8. Went to Kentucky Gregs on George Urban for the first time to today, I have to say it was amazing. I've been to most of the BBQ places around here and this place jumps to the top of the list. It was so good we ordered an extra rack of ribs to bring home, and yes they are already gone.
  9. The Republicans are desperate and need to hold on to anything they can. They can't allow 2016 to be about issues, if they do the election has no chance of even being close, because right now they have absolutely nothing. It's going to be about emails and any other distraction they can find.
  10. I believe Tim Murray hired the assistant coaches with some input from Nolan.
  11. That's easy, Ivan Koloff. Look at the job he did with Nikita Koloff and Krusher Kruschev.
  12. What is Grigorenko "effective" at? I won't argue against that there are many veterans that should be sitting on a more regular basis. I will argue that Grigorenko hasn't shown anything during his opportunities that he should be in the lineup or take ice time away from the veterans. I'll go as far as saying that if Grigorenko wasn't a highly touted 1st round he wouldn't have gotten the opportunities he has. As far as Nolan is concerned, we are getting what we thought we were getting when he signed. He was a guy desperate to get back into the NHL fully aware that his a place holder. A fan favorite to appease the massed during the lien years. He's not here to develop the young talent, that's what the assistant coaches are for.
  13. Not having the weight of expectations on his shoulders is going a long way. Even Stafford has 6 points in 11 games. Both players are slotted nicely with there new team which goes to your point regarding talent level.
  14. The only things worse than any Sabres "third jerseys" are any thread about Sabres third jerseys. I thought this crap died when Quinn left.
  15. Grigorenko has yet to show he belongs in the NHL or even deserves another shot at this point. The last thing this franchise needs to do is force some 20 year old into the lien-up who hasn't earned the opportunity. He has had games and shifts, it's up to Grigorenko take advantage of the time he has gotten. I've seen nothing from the kid that makes me think Nolan should be giving the kid more of a chance. Grigorenko has no one to blame but himself. Larsson is in a similar boat. Just because the Sabres are where they are, it shouldn't mean they should hand out playing time to those that haven't earned it. I'm not a big Nolan fan, there certainly are a lot of legit criticisms when it comes to Nolan. Not using Grigorenko or Larsson correctly is not one of them, IMO.
  16. The Bills were 26th in yards per rushing attempt and 27th in rushing TD's with only 7. I can see why a new coaching staff would want to make changes. Fred Jackson was a very good Buffalo Bill. He certainly gave it his all on every play. It's time to move forward.
  17. Suh in Miami? This division is getting interesting.
  18. Watching this game made me legitimately sad! It actually drained energy from me. Whoever the savior is that the Sabres end up with come June he better be as advertised and worth all of this.
  19. I doubt it, Vice is a Series on HBO.
  20. Has anyone else seen this show on HBO? If freaking amazing and I can't believe it's not the #1 story worldwide. Doctors at the Philadelphia Children's Hospital are curing Leukemia. 90% of 39 pediatric patients treated are in full remission. Some as early as four weeks. It's an amazing story. Doctor's are using a modified version on the HIV virus to attack and kill cancer cells. This has to be the biggest medical breakthrough in my lifetime. If you have a chance to catch it, I suggest it.
  21. Spots on a leopard are not a learned behavior, they are not subject to change. A hockey player's game is. I've seen too many players from Pierre Turgeon to Jaromir Jagr who have played their career one way and at some point as they grow they become a different player. Under the right circumstances a player can become more than what he is perceived to be. I couldn't disagree more, Stewart is a very good hockey player who needs to find the right situation.
  22. I think this goes to teams misusing Stewart. Scoring 28 goals back in 2009-10 may very well be the worst thing to happen to Stewart's career. Teams see the offensive production early in his career and they focus on it, which causes Stewart to focus on it instead of going back to those things he did that got him to the NHL. Stewart needs to be in a situation where he can focus on being the player he is instead of the player he is expected to be. Which is why I thought he was a perfect fit for this franchise at this time. The Sabres are 2-3 years away before expectations start to creep in. That, IMO, is enough time for Stewart to settle into his game. Free of the expectation and preconceptions of his draft status and previous reputation.
  23. If Stewart is going really well he can be a 2nd line winger. Deslauriers at his best, IMO, would still be a 3rd -4th liner. I see Deslauriers as a depth guy, probably a bubble player on a playoff caliber team. Not enough there to keep on the NHL roster, good enough to be a frequent injury call-up. Again, just my opinion.
  24. They gave up a fifth round pick for a guy they want to take a closer look at. This move doesn't hamper the Bills in any way. They are still likely going to comb through UFA's and possibly draft another QB. It's only March, I wouldn't start getting worried about Cassel until he starts some pre-season games. He was the Beatles drummer before Ringo Starr.
  25. It shouldn't. Heck, I'm hoping to sign on and read that the Bills traded for Andre Johnson or sign Suh.
