  1. Waiting for Bill Wirtz to die.
  2. I think the word you are looking for is embarrassing.
  3. How did Bogosian not get a star? He was a force on the ice tonight. The never say die attitude that these players are showing up to the rink with every night is really going to carry this franchise going forward. It's been a real joy to watch. Larsson has been a huge surprise. Not too long ago I was ready to toss him on the scrap heap, if this kid has turned the corner than the Sabres have a real find in this kid. I hope he and the others you mentioned keep their heads up and effort strong til the final horn of the final period.
  4. Classic trap game for the Blackhawks, after the Sabres they have two games against the Blues with a game against the Wild in between. Some unlikely saves and a couple of posts and the Sabres steal this in OT 3-2. Go Sabres!
  5. You are right, it is likely of the guys on the ice only Deslauriers will be here over the next 2-3 years. That's fine with me because it has to start somewhere. Someone needs to set the standard. Ristolainen, Zadorov, Girgenson and others are seeing how they should respond. That you think the players are suddenly "playing harder" shows that you aren't paying attention. It's not that they are "playing harder" it's that they haven't quit like so many "fans" have.
  6. Good Fans of this City understand what is going on and understand where these players are coming from. My favorite play of the season happened last night. Early third, a Leaf takes a swipe at Lindbeck and next thing you know all five Sabres have three leafs pinned against the boards. It was a great overhead shot which I wish I had as my desk top wallpaper. it was a great reminder of why you don't root against your own team. F' "The Tank", the idiot radio ass-clowns that promote it, the moronic fans that fell for it and F' McEichel. The Sabres are building something special in which we will all be enjoying the benefits of shortly. It doesn't matter if they draft 1st, 5th or 10th. I have faith in Tim Murray and this organization. nothing over the remaining games is going to change that.
  7. Does this just say it all. I'm sure the Sabres won't have any problems replacing you.
  8. This how it should be. Enjoy the hockey and worry about the off-season in the off-season.
  9. Tonight is a true test of how far gone some "fans" are. Rooting against the Sabres in a home game against the hated Toronto Maple Leafs? Any remnants of a hockey soul will be apparent tonight.
  10. Yep, nothing worse than enjoying when your team wins.
  11. Losing the "fear of dead" is one on the main story points throughout the series. It come to a point where the walkers are merely environmental. You deal with them when necessary. As Rick and the others tried to stress to people of Alexandria, the real threat is other people. The Governor, Terminous, the gang that Darryl traveled with and now the Wolves, it will always be people that are the greatest threat and will always be. The show has been sacrificing popular characters, Beth, Bob and Tyrese all went with in a few weeks. If the books are any indication, there should be some damage coming to the core group.
  12. It makes me want to call in. But then i would have to listen to those ass-clowns which I have been avoiding for a while now.
  13. Hodgson is only 25 years old. Is there any chance he can turn things around? Is there enough talent there to try and salvage over the next three seasons?
  14. We'll have to see. If we were head to head last week I would have won 11-2-1. I'm feeling good about this week.
  15. Finals in both Blue & Gold, that has to be a first.
  16. Not "ego", a base principle this franchise can not afford to do without, no matter if they are 30th or 1st in the League. "Fans" shouldn't be getting on Mike Weber for standing up and showing he cares. "Fans" should be on any player that didn't.
  17. Not to the players. Any player that would think otherwise has no business in the League.
  18. Nolan. The Sabres have no need to eat Hodgson's contract right now so I don't see him going anywhere.
  19. A truly epic level of stupidity right here. Well done.
  20. Sabre fans "endure" because it's what we do. We have been doing it for 45 years, long before "McEichel" were twinkles in their parents eyes. You point might be true for other fans of other franchises. In Buffalo, we'd all still be here McEichel or not. Because it's who we are and what we do, we endure. This is 100% crap. Get on Mike Weber because he dares to show he cares? Seriously?
  21. Tampa was also a Conference finalist four seasons ago. I would argue Tampa had a strong base than most for a GM to work with. A new GM absolutely inherits and owns the failures of his predecessor. He is brought in to correct past mistakes and change the direction of the team. It's all part of the job. A new GM should not be rewarded for the previous GM's failures. It's up to fans and ownership to give any new GM a free pass, not the NHL. There will always be portion of luck involved no matter what system is used. There will always be a good team that for some bad luck or injuries will end up in the bottom 14, I have no issues with giving that team an equal chance at the best player available in the draft. I could also do this all day. It is much more fun to actually hockey and hypothetical situations than the draining "tank" garbage that has dominated this board for the past two a seasons. A return to actual hockey talk can not come back too soon. If you are an owner in the NHL, where would you rather see Connor McDavid end up, Boston, LA, Dallas or Buffalo, Arizona, Edmonton? For the overall success of the NHL I woudl think consistently putting the best young talent on the worst franchises is bad for business.
  22. What would be the offer? If Arizona was offering #2, their second #1 pick this year and sake of argument a prospect like Max Domi, it would be foolish of the Sabres not to give that serious consideration. The plan here is to build a great team not pin all the hopes on 1 player. If you can add significant assets without dropping much or at all in the quality of player you would be drafting with your first pick, that is direction to go in.
  23. Is it really in the best interest of the league to continue to have the worst run teams have the best shot at drafting high end talent? I would offer it doesn't create the parity in the NHL that it was intended to. Draft position doesn't create parity, a quality front office does. Connor McDavid isn't going to turn the Sabres around, Tim Murray is. If Tim Murray fails than what ever Connor McDavid does on the ice will be wasted. Looking at it from a different angle, wouldn't adding top end talent to playoff bubble teams increase the parity quicker than having a high skilled prospect waste away on a bottom feeder? Expanding parity from the top instead of feeding into from the bottom seems like a more efficient way of getting closer to true parity.
  24. How do you argue against made up percentages? I guess I can make up my own percentages, what would really be the point. To add to this is a team foregoing the millions on dollars in playoff revenue for that 7.1% chance. Teams that finish 9th or 10th are focused on making it to 7th or 8th not drafting 1st or 2nd. It's an invalid and unreasonable concern. The existence of the lottery in it's self is a admittance of a problem by the NHL. The current system today and what will be used next season are nothing more than a token gesture that doesn't sufficiently address the problem. A system needs to be in place to ensure what has happened this season never happens again. The integrity of the drafting process has forever been sullied, it must be addressed.
