  1. I like the ideas of a fan from each team playing a game of NHL '16 to determine a winner or bring out the big piece of cardboard thye put in front of nets to give away cars and whichever team gets the most in the slot gets the point.
  2. Ever watch F-Troop or Hogan's Heroes?
  3. Don't forget that flash in the pan, what was his name? Orr?
  4. I completely understand this sentiment. Being here on the ground floor, as they say, of the rebuild we are being introduced to an array of incredibly talented prospects. They become "ours." They're Sabres. We as fans want to see all the promise and potential come to fruition. We want that payoff for all of the hope and faith we have been holding onto. But in the end Weave is right, asset management is very important. IMO, it is the most important aspect of a rebuild. It's the constant manipulation of the roster to the point of having just the right personal combination to finally win that Stanley Cup.
  5. I would guess the price is 3 major assets to acquire and $7 mil a year in a long term deal.
  6. If Reinhart has more value than the #3 pick in a strong draft and so much value not to be included in a deal for Ryan O'Reilly than why are we even talking about a deal for Ryan O'Reilly. If Eichel and Reinhart are the top two centers, you don't bring in O'Reilly to be the #3, especially considering the assets needed to acquire. You bring in an O'Reilly because you think Reinhart is a #3 center at best. If that's the case, I deal Reinhart for the #3 pick.
  7. What would the thought be if it turned out to be Reinhart for the #3 pick? Would anyone make that deal?
  8. Which in this case would be suicide. The Republicans know the only chance they have at a serious run at the White House is to tone down the crazy.
  9. I'm sure the upcoming elections have something to do with it.
  10. Are there history books in Texas?
  11. I wouldn't pay that price for Okposo. If the Sabres are looking to make a major impact i would prefer they take a run at a Brandon Saad. The guy has done it in the regular season and the playoffs. He is exactly the type of player at the perfect age the Sabres should be targeting. I would make a significant RFA offer or try to work out a deal with the Hawks. I'd rather see Saad than O'Reilly in the blue and gold.
  12. I would think it's a little bit more involved than that. I would have a hard time making the level of commitment needed until the medical team had to go over all the information, I would even insist on sending him to independent specialist before agreeing to a deal. I would also insist on a contract with protections for the Sabres in case the eye becomes an issue down the line.
  13. It's starting to seem that impatience is creeping in. Sharp, Kessel and now Okposo? IMO, we are getting ahead of ourselves. These are moves that make sense a few years down the road. O'Reilly makes more sense due to his age.
  14. Yeah, I got names crossed. Technically he qualifies as both, it doesn't mean I have to recognize him as either.
  15. I will admit that I let my emotions in cases like these gets the best of me. I don't consider the likes of Dylann Storm, or any white supremacist, human beings let alone American citizens. I guess we will have to just disagree on this.
  16. I am very interested in seeing what the Leafs can get for Kessel. He is a great offensive player, that contract is a monster.
  17. I voted zero. Of the players being talked about being moved around the draft, I don't see any as them landing in Buffalo and at this point I believe that would be in Buffalo's best interest. Actually I would prefer if they moved up from #21 into the top unless they are getting a real promising player in return.
  18. You're right, I do think what we have done to innocent men and women abroad is horrific. Many of the men and women held, tortured and killed under the name of fighting terrorism have done nothing more than be born with the wrong colored skin and speak with an accent. I see a huge difference between chasing those boogie men all over the world and ignoring the real threat. Members of white supremacist don't want to be a part of this nation so I don't care if they are "American" citizens or not. I would much rather see true justice come to the those that work to damage and divide this country than imaginary justice served on a people that not harmed the United States in any way. The real enemy if from within and needs to dealt with. Here is something I know is going to make your head explode. The person who gave or sold the gun to Dylann Storm should be charged with providing aid/weapons to a terrorist. It's time to for some serious accountability no more of this pussyfooting around.
  19. How we are spending trillions and killing thousands in the name of fighting "terrorism", yes I have. This is another example of how pointless the "war on terror" is. We allow known terrorist groups to exist in our own Country and refuse to do anything about them. Why? Because their skin is white? It's easier to justify killing a brown skinned man especially if they have an accent? We have wasted so much in resources and are no more safer largely impart to a number of people looking to change the ending of the Civil War.
  20. This! The game has evolved, I doubt Dave Andreychuk would have anywhere near the career he did in today's NHL.
  21. Would you consider members of Isis or Al-Qaeda as having "mental health issues?" I don't recall hearing anyone making that distinction. Hate groups within the U.S. are far more dangerous terrorists than those from foreign lands and should be treated as such. There is no difference between those nine innocent people murdered and all of those murdered on 9/11. This government needs to start spending some of trillions of dollars spent on fighting terrorism and make a concentrated effort to wipe out hate groups here in the United States. Treat them just like the terrorist groups they are. Let's start detaining members for long periods of time without any recourse and and a few drone strikes wouldn't hurt either.
  22. What? No toilet made of gold? I can't imagine that any team would even come close to paying that price form Sharp. My best offer would still be a conditional mid-round pick and that's it. I'd give up pick #31 and would prefer to switch out one of the two players for Grigorenko.
  23. Interesting point here. is it too early to make the goalie move? It may be more prudent to see what the goalie market is in 2-3 years down the line when the rest of the roster is ready to do some serious winning.
  24. I haven't read the books. The first thought that came to my mind during that last seen was that the witch was at The Wall. I recall in earlier seasons there was a character that could come back to life several times after being killed. I think this is Jon Snow's fate. IMO, the witch knows something about Jon that has not been revealed yet which is why she has such a strong interest in him and will keep him alive. I don't see the point in killing him off so soon after discovering his sword can kill white walkers.
  25. They have been subjects within a topic. Grigorenko is a topic all of his own.
