If someone did say that, that is truly sad. You are correct, this party has the potential to spawn predatory behavior. Really, any party does especially if alcohol or other drugs are involved. Another aspect of this is that McCoy if opening himself up to being a victim here of a female predator. It only takes a woman to show up at this party and been seen there and seen with McCoy and he can end up with some nasty allegations which don't have to be true, or ever proven true, to cost McCoy everything. To be honest, if I were young and had millions of dollars I'd be doing stupid things to.

I don't think anyone here really believes that. I think most have gone out at one time in hopes of looking for a "hookup" as they say. That's not a predatory act. If a party says no and you follow them, then it becomes predatory. The difference, I believe, is that you have to give the other party a chance to exercise their free will (if a party is impaired or under age they are deemed as not being able to make those decisions) and respect their wishes.

I agree with you as far as the women who would attend would be doing so of their own free will. As Far as McCoy? He has to know better, doesn't he? Considering all the PR hits the NFL has taken over the years in relation to how their players treat women, you have the think that McCoy is going to have to answer when the Bills' management asks "WTF!" It may come across "Skeevy, gross, scummy, degenerate." as Aud said, more than anything it comes across as just plain stupid and gives me, as a fan, doubts as to how smart is this guy. I know football players don't have to be members of Mensa to play the game, but damn, there should at least be a minimal about of common sense. Shouldn't there be?

It all comes down to the strategy of selling fear.It reminds of that line Michael Douglas had in the 'American President', " He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it." Immigration is not now and has never been a problem in this Country. It is a boogie man created by those that seek a certain status in this country and have nothing else to offer as a way to obtain it. As screwed up as we may be, as a Country and a Society, it is safe to say we would not have made it this far without the cultural diversity contributions of immigrants from all races nationalities and colors. Sing it Stevie!

I'm not ready for tests. ;)

Have you ever noticed how everyone's ancestors are always so hard working and provide great opportunities for future generations? Didn't Italian immigrants go on to form the Mafia and weren't Irish immigrants members of some of the most violent gangs in US history? If you want to believe that people migrating to US today are so bad and that all previous generations of immigrants where great and noble people please go ahead, that is what delusions are for. It's just another opportunity for the Right to try and distract from the Racial problems we have in this country. It's a strategy not to be taken seriously, much like the counter arguments from the gun culture when they list other items that can kill a person.

Agree 100% IMO, Native Americans are the only one's with a right to complain about the "immigrant problem." If you are white and living in the United States, you are the "immigrant problem."

This sounds about right. I would guess Drew Stafford has a better chance of hitting the 30 goal mark agian than Moulson does. I see Moulson as the weakest link in the Sabres top 6 this season.

Tiger's issues are his body breaking down and his personal life going down the toilet. As far as know Lou L is in good health and he hasn't been banging any cocktail waitresses. Though I am sure if he wore his Stanley Cup rings he could. You can rebuild without going into a full tank like the Sabres did. I think the Calgary Flames would be more of the model for the Leafs than the Sabres.
-
The Leafs just added one of the best GM's in NHL history to go along with one of the best coaches in the game today. Leaf fans have every reason to be excited. Lou just had a team in the Finals four seasons ago. I don't see where loading up on quality hockey people can ever be a bad thing. The Leafs can have one hell of a 'Bring your Stanley Cup Ring to Work Day."

You would be correct. Since I dug the books out, might as well get reacquainted.

Purchasing a gun should be the most difficult process a person will ever face. It should be harder that purchasing a house not purchasing cold medicine and should take much longer. Based on my experience and the people I've known throughout my life I can say with great confidence that less than 1% of the population is actually qualified to own any type of gun. Out of all the people I know or have known throughout my entire life I would say one person I've known is qualified to own a gun. Not qualified by the legal standards, qualified by a more realistic standard of temperament, trust and is that person most likely never to use that gun. I've known gun owners, hunters and even people in law enforcement. Another aspect in this is that is frightening is there is nothing stopping me from purchasing a gun. No way in hell should i ever be allowed to own a gun of any type. Yet, I can easily go onto the Walmart website and purchase a shotgun for $40. There is something horribly wrong with this. This is freaking insane. This disease called guns has infected our society to point where I fear that there is no ever coming back to sanity.

The sad part is, are any of us really surprised at this point? Two more people are dead, so what? There is no gun problem in this country  I guess those people would be alive if the kid on the popcorn machine had an Uzi .
-
You seem to be missing the point. Buying a cold medicine and purchasing a gun shouldn't be anywhere close to being the same process. Watching the news this evening they showed a bunch of nuts standing in front of recruiting offices with assault rifles and that's legal. Yet, a women stands in front of that same office and takes her top and bra off and she would get arrested. It's a bizarro world out there.

When's the last time you bought Sudafed?
-
I still have the Bloom County book I purchased which included a Deathtongue record.
-
You are right. It shouldn't be harder to buy Sudafed than it is a gun. We live in a backwards society created by the NRA and the gun industry.
-
Cars are not designed to kill, guns are designed to kill, nothing else.
-
And giving you a gun isn't going to protect you from someone with a gun. To think so, is as you said, silly. This is just more of people thinking that they live in a Hollywood movie and when a bad guy shows up they are going to draw their weapon and dive through the air in slow motion firing off 6 rounds and hitting the mark on each one. Heroine is the perfect analogy. Gun nuts hold on to their guns like a heroine addict holds on to their needle. Guns = heroine, neither have any socially redeeming value and both destroy lives.

The one thing I try to remember is that the Sabres traded away assets for assets further along. It's not like they dumped a number of picks to pick up some 30 years old's. The Sabres have added NHL proven parts to their core. That is no small feet and is not cheap. They were also able to do so without giving up their prime assets. Girgensons, Risto and the two Top 2 draft picks are still here. They still have a bunch of talented prospects in the pipe line and draft picks available to either move or execute. Sure, the Sabres still have holes and needs, they are just starting to put this thing together, it's not going to happen overnight. As a GM you take a look at opportunities that are out there and you take advantage. Kane and O'Reilly being Sabres is as much about timing as it was about the assets used to acquire them. Maybe next seasons Kane or O'Reilly is a blueliner, or maybe if the Bruins weren't in the Sabres division we would be talking about Dougie Hamilton. The Sabres a re in a solid position right now. And odds are that some young player that we may not be talking much about right now comes out of nowhere to make an impact filling what is now perceived as a need.

If you are attacked by someone who has an automatic weapon, what time do you have to go to your safe and unlocked it to get your automatic weapon? Or, are you proposing we go to the old west days where everyone is carrying around sidearms or automatic weapons? Again, the argument that the solution to the gun disease in this country is more guns is just so sad and pathetic. We have a heroin epidemic in WNY, so why not just pass out more heroin? We have to get away from this backwards thinking when it comes to guns and stop placating a small minority. We know what the problem is and the solution is simple. It has worked in other countries. We need, as a society, to stop acting like the world we live in is a Hollywood movie and once we ban guns there are going to be armed invaders roaming the streets killing people at will. We are supposed to be the leaders of the free world and the greatest nation in the world. Until we eliminate the gun pandemic neither will ever be true. Diversity has nothing to do with violence. There are violent crimes because we have created a violent society. The most horrific crimes are often carried out by white males, not minorities. If you want to reduce violent crimes than change the culture, don't blame any single racial group. Create a culture of opportunity where all have an equal chance at economic prosperity and eliminate those factors like racism and the gun culture that work against our societies best interests.
-
I always find the argument of the solution to the gun problem is more guns. It's really sad and shows how this gun disease has been entrenched in our culture. Until guns are treated as the pandemic they are no citizens will ever truly be safe. Here is a funny take on the issue, listen closely and you will hear a lot of truth sprinkled in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4OSKZ1Qaus

This might be the smartest course of action.
-
That makes sense for Oduya. The Stars are a bit ahead of a team like Sabres on the road to being a solid contender.
-
The Ducks get Stewart on a great contract for them. Stewart at 1 year and less than $2 mil would have been a great addition for the Sabres.
