  1. It's far more likely he is just repeating what he has been told by Sabre coaches since he turned pro. Hopefully the Canucks coaches can undo what the Sabres have done.
  2. Two teams with physical forwards that can score.
  3. The posts you referenced clearly show I was giving my opinion of what the Sabres need to do if they are "committed" to filling that #1 center position. I doubt the Sabres seriously think they solved their needs at center with this one trade. They still need a a top flight established #1 center. A prospect doesn't fit that bill and is certainly not what I was referring to. As I said, a Kassian package for a center like Getzlaf or Brown is far different than Kassian for a fellow prospect. I am extremely disappointed in the Sabres inability maximize Kassian's talents. I'm sure since Hodgson fits more of the mold he will have more chance to succeed.
  4. If you go to a website designed to talk about that book you wouldn't give an honest opinion? You would say you liked where the story was heading and that the characters were developed even though you really thought the story was choppy and the characters seemed incomplete? It doesn't mean you put the book down. You should at least be able to be honest about where you think the story is at any given time.
  5. I don't even want to think of next season's roster until Pegula has a chance to speak to Rick Nash and get the Sabres on his short list.
  6. I have a couple of offers for Hodgson. I may wait till after his debut to make any decisions or counter offers. A good game and a couple of goals may up the price.
  7. People are letting their critical observations of Kassian be known because there is no longer any rationale for them to "wait and see". Seems pretty clear to me.
  8. You mean many posters can only be honest once the player is gone? When did I make that statement? I believe I said if the Sabres are committed to acquiring a #1 center than they will be able to find a deal for a #1 center. I said that with an established #1 center in mind. I also said it was going to come with a heavy price that the Sabres need to be willing to pay if they are going to get a deal done. I also said earlier I would take Lucic over any #1 center in the league. Someone brought up Stamkos and it made me think. I would still take Lucic over Stamkos. Lucic is such an NHL oddity, there are far fewer Lucic 's in the NHL then there are #1 centers.
  9. Given the chance to have a true power forward prospect compare to a center prospect. I absolutely take the power forward prospect. Offer me Getzlaf for a package including Kassian and I make the deal. You do realize that you are the only one "bitching," I am simply adding my opinion to the conversation. You seem to want to take the conversation into another direction.
  10. If the Sabres would have gotten a #1 center the conversation would be different.
  11. How often do you see me hammer Roy? Stafford was just a name i threw out there. I know better than to think any team would give up anything for Stafford. Hodgson is far from being a #1 center, just like Kassian is far from reaching his potential. As I said earlier, if both players reach their maximum potential I would prefer Kassian. I've been hoping for a player like that to wear a Sabre uniform for a long time.
  12. Honestly, IMO, he is too young to worry about the rest of his game. Perfect the aspect of his game that he should be able to excel at and then start adding to it. It's a big step up physically to the NHL, let the kid adjust his physical game to the NHL first.
  13. I would say putting him on a line with a guy with 178 hits in 63 games is the exact right thing to do with Kassian. If Kassian is going to make his mark in the NHL it has to start with his physical game. I think that is the part Lindy could never figure out.
  14. Under Ruff he never had a chance to be. Look at what the Sabres did to Gaustad's game and now Kassian. It's almost poetic that they both got moved on the same day.
  15. Not "implying" I'm saying it. The Kassian pick was so far outside the box for Status Quo that they had no idea what to do with him. Lindy has no idea how to coach a player like that. This team does need some additional offensive talent, it wasn't lack of goal scoring that sent this season on the downward spiral. It was being embarrassed on a national level by Lucic.
  16. Gaustad for a first was exciting. If the Sabres would have given up a Stafford for Hodgson I would be ecstatic. Kassian represents so much of what this franchise is missing. I have real concerns for Foligno and McNabb going forward. Do they really have a future here in Buffalo or will they eventually be shipped out because they don't fit the Status Quo mold? It's a valid concern.
  17. That tends to happen when a monster rolls over your goalie, pretty much ending your playoff hopes, and no one on the team does a thing about it. Were sensitive that way. I hope the kid does really well, if ends up not being the next Briere he will be crucified like Roy by many of these same posters.
  18. You should continue to rest your players. Hodgson plays four times this week. You don't have a chance.
  19. Straight up for Lucic? There is an entire thread of posters that think you would be crazy to pass that deal up.
  20. What else would Regier say?
  21. I have Hodgson in the Blue League, care to make me an offer? ;)
  22. I go back to a few weeks ago when he was asked if he was told to stop fighting and responded "you're not to coach" and stormed off. That there told be that Lindy got into his head and tried to change him. The Sabres never knew what to do with Kassian and Vancouver will benefit from it.
  23. Not really!
  24. It's not about the opponent game. It's about how that opponent looks at your team. Would you disagree that teams would be a bit more tense going into a game against the Bruins and Flyers than they would be the Sabres. I think that goes a long way.
  25. That doesn't mean it's not the preferred "style of game" of some Sabre fans.
