If you noticed you didn't have enough to drink. -
I'll bet you $20 bucks that Miller's .gaa (2.55) and SV% (.916) decline next year.

Leopold and Enroth would be a pretty steep price. How about Leopold and Miller, that makes it a bit more fair. ;)

IMO, at only 19 years old I think the kid has a great maturity to his game. He fits all of the Sabres needs, size, youth, talented, physical and tough to play against. Plus, he has a great hockey name, Couturier would look great on the back of of a Sabres jersey.
-
IMO, Couturier is going to be a mega-star in the NHL. As previously stated, I have concerns that Myers has topped out.

Best The fries at Five Guys are awesome, Duff's wings Grover's Burgers Red Pepper for Chinese food. Jim's Steakout - if you are drunk at 3:00 AM. Overrated Anchor Bar Jim's Steakout - sober at 3:00 PM Bocce Club Pizza - not a fan. -
I hope all this is true, it's makes me like Obama even more.
-
Myers for Couturier? That would be a dream come true. I wonder if the Flyers would consider it.

Plus, he could have easily walked into that temple with a sponge and a bag of chips and killed those people. What are we going to do, outlaw potato chips and sponges. Have you ever pointed the gun at a human being? Every shot a human being. Cowboy bravado aside, it's one thing to say what you would do in that situation and quite another to actual pull the trigger with the intent to kill another human being.

It goes by games played not contract status.

More lives lost and others destroyed due to another jackass with a gun.

I would like for the "ghost" of Lord Stanley to become a regular fixture at the F'N Center. "Potential" is the bastard child of "expectation." I am more interested in seeing how soon the change of philosophy will be visible on the ice.

Agreed! Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to move forward.

Ottawa, Carolina, Tampa and Winnipeg are all better teams than the Sabres. If Braden Holtby can give the Caps a consistent effort in net than the Caps join the list of teams better than the Sabres, IMO. Right now, IMO, the four worst teams in the East are the Sabres, Habs, Leafs and Islanders. If Nabovkov can stay healthy then the islanders will separate themselves from the bottom three. The Sabres have work to do to get into that 6-11 range.
-
I expect this team to be on the outside looking in for pretty much the entire season. I think there are easily 9-10 teams in the East better than the Sabres will be.
-
Is it really "rebuilding" when you never built anything in the first place. Then why is most of it still in place.
-
No one expects Ruff to win a Cup with this roster. I don't even expect this team to contend for a playoff spot. I do expect a team that is prepared to play the game. A coach doesn't need a roster of all-stars for that.
-
The same place is did last season, Vanek, Pominville and a hopefully a healthy Ennis. Any success the Sabres have offensively is likely to come from the power-play. If they can somehow scratch their way from 16th into the top ten, that would go a long way.

Would anyone be willing to be rocketed to Mars even if it meant it was a one way trip? To be the first person to land on another planet would be monstrously historic. i think most people would do it.

IMO, the moves made by Regier so far this season do not make the Sabres a playoff team. IMO, they do make the franchise better. I don't think the idea of making the Sabres a tough team to play against should be taken lightly. It is a necessity if the team plans to contend for a Stanley Cup in the near future. It's not a change that can happen over night. I don't think Regier is "relying on a perfect storm." IMO, Regier is correctly a fatal flaw in his design of how to build a Cup champion. It's not about the Bruins, Eleven, it's about how they are perceived by every team in the league. It didn't get discussed much around here, but i found it deeply disturbing to hear Paul Hamilton just come out and say that pretty much every team had something to say to the Sabres about the Lucic incident. The Sabres need to earn that respect back, that wasn't going to happen with the roster as it was.

The green bottle turns the beer skunky faster. I had the same problem years ago with Molson Canadian. No matter where I went the Canadian tasted off. A bar tender told me it was a commom complaint of Canadians. Today I am enjoying some ice cold Coors Light and some Parma Prosciutto on fresh Italian bread.

I'll gladly wait for for Doan. Everyday day Doan is unsigned is a day Doan hasn't signed with a team other than the Sabres. The same with Bobby Ryan, I hope the Sabres and Ducks are still working out the details.

When talking all-time Sabre fights/fighters I always go back to Danny Gare. An extremely talented 50 goal scorer who at 5' 9" never backed down from anyone. He went toe to toe with the toughest SOB's of his era including the likes of Dave Schultz. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVCWubcrccM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iet-cApkGxw

My first thought when I saw that commercial was that I would watch if they guaranteed they were using live rounds.

I get what you are saying about Arnott, He's an NHL center that can get you 10-15 goals most likely. IMO, he's just not a plan B to a Doan plan A. If the Sabres are interested in Arnott they should sign him without any consideration to what is happening on the Doan front or even the Bobby Ryan front. As you said, for a minimal investment it wouldn't hurt to bring Arnott in to kick the tires as they say. I said last off-season that a good use of Pegula's money would be to bring in veteran players on one year deals and see what they can bring you. It's similar to what Philly did with Jagr and what Carolina did with Semin, just on a far more affordable scale.
