Anyone interested in starting a Separatist Movement here in the United States? Republicans can have the south, Democrats will occupy the north and we can build that super-fence, not at the Mexican Border, we build it right in the middle of the country. Hawaii and Alaska can be neutral zones. Two separate counties, the North can govern by the constitution and the South can govern by the bible or by Tobi Keith lyrics, which ever god tells them to do. We can move New Orleans up to the shores of the Great Lakes and relocate all southern hockey teams to the North. Anyone interested in signing up?

I prefer Pier 6 Brawl over Slobberknocker, I was a big Gordon Solie fan.
-
IMO, the difference between Torres and Brown is talent and technique. We may just be arguing chicken/egg at this point. I think we can both agree that physical hockey is about attitude.
-
I just don't honestly think it is possible.

Teams have proven that you can always find cap space. I don't think the Sabres will win a Stanley Cup with Shane Doan, what he can inject into the franchise as far as work ethic and toughness is, IMO, something that can become a base core value for teams/rosters to come. I see Shane Doan as a direction changer for this franchise that will lead to future Cups if they stay the course. I don't care about the money in this case. The possible return on investment may not be immediately realized.

I said "up there with" not "better than." BTW, who gives up a head coaching job in the NFL for Ronnie Jones.

This has to be the silliest line ever posted on this board in the 7+ years I have been participating on the board. This is up there with Wade's punt catcher analogy. Mike Tyson wasn't the 'Baddest Man on The Planet' because he knocked people out, it was because he threw his fists really hard at their heads and they lost consciousness. ;)

Agree 100% So many n this board make a big deal out of Cody Hodgson working out with Gary Roberts. This is one step better, a player cut from the same cloth as Gary Roberts. A tough veteran winger that will bring a strong veteran/physical presence. Shane Doan will not single handily lead the Sabres to a Stanley Cup. He can, however, be a huge building block to a future Stanley Cup championship, IMO.

Last year a absentee owner cost House of Quinn a chance at the playoffs. If you make the commitment live up to it. It's makes the leagues more fun for everyone when all owners are committed.

Over which Jonas Brother is cutest?

Maybe I'll use that when I take over his team in the second half of the year.

If I may, the New Jersey Devils' increased their hitting in the Playoffs. 82 regular season games they averaged 20.45 hits, 24 playoff games they averaged 32.08 hits per game. They hit at a rate in the playoffs that would have led the regular season by over 200 hits. The Devils became a physical team when it mattered most and it almost paid off. They simply ran into a team equally as physical and a bit more talented.
-
They already have their Cup. What is that is that old saying "Scoreboard." If the last four seasons the Bruins have a Stanley Cup, a Presidents' Trophy and 2 Division Titles. When you are one of the toughest/physical teams in the league a lot of other teams are going to look softer. All the things you listed contributed to the Kings Stanley Cup. It took all of those things built upon a solid foundation of physical hockey for the season to come together the way it did. Without the solid foundation it would have been just another season for the Kings. Scratch the Presidents' Trophy, the Bruins won the Conference by 8 points and San Jose won the Presidents Trophy that year 117 points to 116 points that season.
-
It was the foundation that their Cup was built on.

They made their best album after Epstein died. The White Album is the greatest album ever made.
-
Bruins and Kings come to mind. The game has changed ladies,it's time to get use to it. Time to put away your Sabres commemorative purses.
-
Just great, the off-season is so slow this board is turning into a swingers convention.
-
Yeah! That Stanley Cup is a killer.

You missed the point of the question. It was a choice of the Ennis we have now and an Ennis that had a physical side. Of course Ennis now would be more prone to injuries compared to a Ennis that had developed a physical side to his game. There is no doubt a more physical Ennis, that being a Ennis that would be capable and comfortable playing physical, would be far more valuable and would make far more money than Ennis as he is now.
-
You are basically asking who would I pay more for Ennis or Gerbe. You always pay more for offense, that's how the market goes. If the offense drops by 50% I would want more than a hit a game. How is it "better" if the offensive production stays the same.

If you don't think race is a major issue in this election you are living in denial. There are those in the Republican party that won't even listen to what Obama has to say because of the color of his skin. Just like there are those Democrats who will vote for Obama just because he is black. If you want to say race is not an issue for you that is fine, good for you for being evolved. Too many others are not so evolved, on both sides.
-
I want to add that I am a Democrat. I believe that the entire voting process needs an overhaul. Not just the registration process but the actual voting process as well. It's 2012, paper ballots should be obsolete. We are supposed to be the "greatest country in the world," we can do better than that.
-
If you want honesty it is best to practice it yourself first. If Obama was white and Republican voter ID would not be an issue. We would be talking about campaign contributions or something else.
-
Give the people going door to door a digital camera and a laptop. They can upload the picture and registration information instantly. Voting is kind of important. It should require more than some guy going door to door with a clipboard. You can even put the cost on each individual party. Make it their responsibility to get their party members properly registered. If they can spend millions on meaningless campaign commercials that no one pays attention to, they can spends millions on maintaining the integrity of the most important process we have.
