  1. Fitzpatrick had 350 yards passing yesterday. Johnson only has 23 of those years. Your point would stand if Fitzpatrick was regularly throwing for 150-200 yards a game. As someone said, he is a good fantasy QB. Johnson is just not a go-to guy, IMO. The Bills need a true #1 option so Johnson can slide to the #2 role which he is more suited for.
  2. Looking at the upcoming schedule is very disheartening. San Francisco, Arizona and Houston have been very difficult to score on this season. Get past those three and the Patriots are waiting in Foxboro to punch the Bills in the gut again. Tennessee looks like an oasis in that stretch of games.
  3. When you turn the ball over to New England 6 times you are lucky to only give up 580 yards and 52 points. You can't give the Pats a 2nd chance let alone a third, fourth and fifth. Gailey punting on the first drive at the NE 41. Fitzpatrick horribly missing a wide open Gilmore for a INT. The ball was so poorly under thrown I am surprised a lineman didn't pick it off. Spiller fumbling on the goal line. You can't leave points on the field against the Pats.
  4. Speaking of Chan Gailey. why punt on 4th and 5 on the Pats 41 in the first quarter? The Bills don't have the horses to play a field position battle with the Pats. He's not a winner.
  5. What will happen first? The Sabres get a true #1 center or the Bills getting a franchise QB?
  6. Regular refs are back and suddenly leaving your feet to hit Scott Chandler in the head isn't a penalty when you're a Patriot. Forget Mario Williams, did any see Vince Wolfolk's wife? Sign her up to play defensive end.
  7. What a surprise, the regular refs are back and suddenly calls start going the Patriots' way. Glad to see the "integrity" of the officiating has been restored.
  8. The value of Israel to the United States is strategic much like the Philippines in WWII.
  9. I love how Lindy Ruff is apparently a great coach yet has zero responsibilities and zero effect on his team. It's seems every criticism of Ruff is met with "that's not his fault."
  10. The view is a bit different from the field than it is from the couch.
  11. Firing Ruff and Regier will only be done when Pegula & Black feel they need to buy some time during the current rebuilding process. They'll make a couple of more roster moves, toss out a new jersey to distract the fans and as a last resort fire Ruff and when that wears off they will fire Regier.
  12. The only injustice on the play was a corner-back not doing his job and costing his team a game. The officials made the call with the naked eye as it happened. There was not enough evidence to overturn. it was the right call. If it were the regular refs they just would have given the ball to Green Bay because they are Green Bay and not what they saw transpire on the field.
  13. Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner. It is sad to say that the United States foreign policy can be summed up in one word, "OIL." If you ain't got it, we don't care. it's the only reason we have a presence in the Middle East and it is the only reason this Country cares about Israel. If Israel was settled in some oil-less part of the planet we wouldn't give a crap about them.
  14. It's not like the lockout has caused a drop in the quality of the show. It has been a piss poor endeavor right from the start. I also have to say that John Murphy may be the second most boring personality on Buffalo Sports Talk Radio. Having employees of the sports teams host radio shows just doesn't work.
  15. i was referring to the push off on the final play.
  16. The NFL has the rule where a player must maintain control of the ball through the process of a reception. The defender lost sole control (for the sake of argument) of the ball as he and the receiver fell to the ground. Defenders are taught from pee-wee to knock the ball down. The defender put his stats ahead of the team. Just to be fair, the refs did blow the pass interference call on Tate. A coach that controls the locker room? Now that's a novel idea.
  17. If this is the move, I like it.
  18. Tate had possession of the ball by the time they hit the ground. This all could have been avoided if the d-back would have done his job and knocked the ball away instead of pulling a Nate Clements.
  19. You've never seen officials huddle up before making a call? It happens all the time.
  20. Now you can say you did. Both players were in the air, when they came down one player had an arm wrapped around the ball and the defender had his arms wrapped around the ball and Tate's arm. Unless officials are to rule possession when players are still in the air, this was a good call.
  21. Never seen a one handed catch?
  22. Is Tate's left hand not clearly on the ball? Tie goes to the offense.
  23. 99% of the country "sees" it the way the ESPN tells them to see it. It was called simultaneous possession on the field. They call the play a INT and that same 99% are crying that the Seahawks got screwed. It's a call that is getting caught up in this media manufactured hysteria regarding the replacement officials. Watch the replay, Golden Tate has his left arm around the ball and the defender has his arms wrapped around the ball and Tate's arm. Simultaneous may have a different meaning where you live, IMO, when two players have their arms around the ball it's simultaneous possession. The regular officials never play fantasy football or have favorite teams? It's suddenly a story?
  24. All the complaining about officials reminds me of the game day threads. Two players came down with the ball, simultaneous possession going to to the passing team. That is the rule, the Packers didn't get "screwed", they had a call go against them. Happens every game, every week to most teams. The idea that the current officials are missing more calls than the previous group of officials is just false. There is just a bigger deal being made out of the missed calls because of the situation between the league and the previous group of officials. It's a provocative story that will gain the interest of sports fans. One thing I love about the new group of officials is that they are calling what they see on the play. They are not basing calls on the jersey or the name on the back of the jersey. Does anyone really think calls would go against New England and the Packers with the previous group officials calling the game? I don't. IMO, the new officials are bringing some integrity back to NFL officiating.
  25. A third party is a great concept, like religion, democracy and capitalism. The problem arises when you add the human element. It is the human element that would make any third party as flawed as the 2 major party. It may start off with the best of intentions, it would take little time for the party to be corrupted and controlled by special interests. The ideal candidate would be unaffiliated with any party, problem is that the system in place makes it really difficult. We have shifted from a democracy to a capitalist state where wealth outweighs the rights of the individual. We live in a state where being poor is almost considered a crime, so much so that they are vilified for looking for means to sustain a minimal standard of living. Romney had it right, 47% of this country is disregarded. What he and others fail to realize is that 47% will soon be 57% and as the middle class continues to be dissolved with a small percentage moving upward and the majority falling closer to the poverty line it puts this Country in a precarious position.
