  1. You write that as if to suggest they had an edge and focus prior to the break. ?
  2. Agreed. Frolik is a nothing player, it was a nothing trade, and it will do nothing to alter the landscape around here. Next!
  3. Made me LOL; he seems to be suggesting we are who we are right now b/c of the 2 injuries.
  4. This has been discussed for quite a while now. It remains to be seen how Jack might handle this situation rolling forward. Is he the kind of guy to demand a trade, or stick with the team that drafted him and made him rich? We will find out I guess. I would not personally fault him for holding out and demanding to be moved.
  5. It's a team of pussies and losers assembled by a ***** loser. I hate the team myself. The worst part is there is no end game here. What are we building to? When does it end? What is the light at the end of the tunnel? There isn't anything I can see.
  6. I am enjoying Jordan Binnington's goalie mask. It's kind of cool.
  7. In all fairness to us supporters of the tank (at the time), it was never supposed to last THIS long! It cannot be overstated just how poorly this rebuild has gone. It's been a total disaster.
  8. We had as good of a 2C as you could hope for on the team and we were horrible, with largely the same cast of characters. We then traded him away for nothing, but that's beside the point. A lights out goaltender would make a difference, but it still wouldn't correct the flawed construct of this team. I would really like to see a package of players pushed out with Reinhart at its center, in exchange for another group with a little more natural competitiveness, and see what that does.
  9. Pilut is a top 4 D man in this organization in my opinion. Of course, the brain surgeons running the organization have him in Rochester, and like to play guys like McCabe and BOGO.
  10. The OP greatly, and I mean greatly overvalues the quality of the team as currently assembled. That is extremely common among all fan groups, particularly Sabres fans. We are 4, 5, or 6 really good important pieces away from being a Cup contender.
  11. Allen's performance in the second half was abysmal. It was just horrible. He's something like the 25th best QB in the league, depending on how you want to try to evaluate things, and we simply can't score enough points to win against good teams as a result. And actually, Houston's D isn't even very good and they are very susceptible to a strong passing game. They also have a HC who makes a habit out of getting his ass kicked in playoff games. He was still good enough to beat us. Very discouraging game, especially with a 16-0 lead and being in total control at least through the first half. Our record is likely to be worse next year, so I really wanted to enjoy the moment this year while everything fell into our laps. It ended far too early!
  12. That's a joke, right?
  13. The smell of a really hot woman who has just walked past you on the sidewalk and then it finally hits you all at once--makeup, perfume, hair care products...best smell on Earth.
  14. Thank you. I still don't get it. And yes, we should absolutely be wearing red, white, and black and the goat head today.
  15. I was thinking about this the other day. There are actually very few "figures" left in the league. Just a few seasons ago that was not the case. Fighting truly is leaving the game, except when it's a spontaneous thing between guys who don't know how to fight. The first round of the playoffs will still have lots of "fighting" in this sense, but it's hard to find in the game now. The irony of all this is that there is an advantage to be gained, IMO, by someone going Broad Street Bully with a lineup, at least for a while until if and when the league catches up to that style of play again. I keep telling myself this is going to happen, but I think it's just wishful thinking.
  16. What makes you say he has all of next year as well? I think that's far from determined at this point.
  17. Looking on the bright side, Jack is the only one who does most of the goal scoring anyway, so these long term injuries to guys like Skinner and Olofsson aren't nearly as bad as they initially seem. ?
  18. It's still fire him immediately. It's going to remain that way until he is fired.
  19. Frolik is running into visa issues going from Canada to USA as a Czech citizen. Once that is sorted Wilson will be back in Rochester.
  20. We have a roster composed of no trade value players. That's a big part of the problem.
  21. This is a nothing move. UFA out, UFA in. Frolik fits the profile of most of our forwards. Don't expect him to piss a drop. The good news is he will probably be gone after the season, so no big deal, and moves of this type will help get Botterill fired. Or, they aren't going to improve his job security.
  22. Usually? Nothing. The 3rd does have a bit more value though, if used as capital to do something other than acquire a player in the draft.
  23. They are opening up cap space to make a move now--or soon--as Botterill knows he doesn't have the luxury of waiting to sell at the trade deadline.
  24. Scandella to Montreal in exchange for a 4th round pick? That is what was just announced at WGR-550.
  25. This gets my vote as best goal of the year, at least so far. I can't think of any off hand that would be better. It had that Bobby Orr look to it, like it's ridiculously easy to score and every player should be doing things like this all the time. Not many guys--even at this level--can score a goal in that manner.
