He could have done the honorable thing and moved to a new market in search of legitimate work after the fallout at WKBW. Instead, he chose to sell out his journalistic integrity, whatever of that he had, and become a corporate spokesperson for the Bills. To each his own.

There are many flavor profiles prevalent in various scotches. Only some have a peaty flavor. Many have no suggestion of peat at all. But the key is to drink what you enjoy! If you have a good bourbon you like, drink it, and enjoy it.

Gentlemen! If Babcock comes here, be assured his heart will be in it. He will give the job all he has. Mike Babcock isn't going to come to Buffalo to mail in a less than 100% effort. If he doesn't want to come, he won't come.

You had to go there. You. Had. To. Go. There.

Prediction time: Will the Sabres get Babcock?

The magic 8 ball does not lie! -
Macallan is a very well known scotch, but very sherry influenced in flavor profile and I'm not into that. Too tart and sour. But everyone has a different palate! The key with scotch is to try enough so that one knows what one likes, then stick with it. I probably sound like a salesman, but for 50 bucks, you can't beat a bottle of Highland Park 12. Smoke. Bacon. Charcoal. Oh...it's so good.

An excellent choice. Speyside offers lots of interesting choices. "The Balvenie" from Speyside is one of my favorites.

Wo. The Islay stuff is not for the faint of heart. That is the heavily peated stuff. Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg. That sort of thing. Interesting flavor profile, but somewhat similar to German hospital sanitizer.

You crazy broad! This is the most sensible post of the day.

Wo. Far out, man.

Jason Dawe playoff scoring record may get broken
Kruppstahl replied to Weave's topic in The Aud Club
Hah. What do I remember about Jason Dawe? He used to live across the street from my good buddy out in E. Amherst, off N.French Road. LOL. Dan Kelly, brother of QB Jim Kelly, lived 4 or 5 houses down. LOL. Dawe sucked. -
Thanks for posting. McKenzie is frustratingly on the fence here, and offers no real insight into where Babcock will end up.
-
Hey! "Weave" sent me here! So blame it on him when you don't like my comments or otherwise wish I hadn't chimed in here. Are there any scotch drinkers here? And if so, what do you think of this recent movement to go to non age-statement single malts?

Let's be honest, Pegula carries these coach prospects in his pocket like so many nickels and dimes. There is no way in hell Detroit is countering a $50 million package. If that is what Pegula has thrown on the table, this deal s done.

Unfortunately, until things change, Buffalo will have to buy its friends in the sporting world. We don't possess enough good will to earn them through other means. That is OK.
-
Well now you are changing the topic of debate. I agree the horses are much more important than the guy coaching the horses. Let me state this: Babcock re-defines the rules governing this sort of thing. I think that highly of him. That doesn't mean I am right or that you or anyone else should agree with me. Babcock represents the top echelon of NHL hockey and gives the Sabres organization an heir of legitimacy it would not have without him. Period. What is that worth? Tim Murray doesn't do that, as much as I love the guy!
-
Oh that is entirely possible. The consequences associated with this deal, should it go through, are an entirely different topic of conversation! If Babcock comes here for a deal worth $50 Million, I am sure the collective NHL ownership will gasp in equal amounts surprise and anger. That only makes this dish a bit sweeter as a Sabres fan! :w00t:
-
You don't think so? I think so. By the way, I am a huge Tim Murray fan! I like the guy A LOT.
-
So was that guy in your avatar! "Character" can be good! Well played. :flirt:

FMV is determined by what the market will bear for a given commodity. When Bill Gates bought Da Vinci's Leicester Codex for nearly 31 million clams was that too much for a book price? Or just right?
-
$50 million overall K amount! LOL. That's like $6 million per for 6 or 8 years, with $2 to $14 million signing bonus. Pegula made Babcock an offer he can't refuse. :w00t: :worthy:  That's OK. Babcock is the more valuable commodity.

3353 Don't say that man. Just when they had us all giddy like.
