  1. Still amazed how they pulled that off. Especially Phaneuf's contract.
  2. If history repeats itself, Buffalo will not be in next year's Stanley Cup Final.
  3. Anyone here play Mass Effect Andromeda? Is it simply bad or just not on par w/ the first 3? Maybe people are being over critical due to the hype surround it? Just curious if it's a game I should avoid completely or wait for a drop off in price.
  4. Crawford has 3 years left on his contract. He's 32 now, so the timing would be right for Petersen. Of course Chicago's key players will be older. Especially their defense. Keith will be 36 and Seabrook will be 35. Can't leave out the cap problem Chicago has. They have Hossa through 2021, and he's already 38. I'm not a GM, so maybe it's fixable. Vesey knew he'd have a shot at receiving immediate NHL playing time as a top 3 line winger. Petersen won't have the luxury of having multiple spots open on the roster. He'll spend a year in the AHL, which is the norm for goalies, and probably be a backup for Crawford the next 2. Sure, if he signs w/ the Sabres he'll still be in the AHL his rookie year. But I feel he has a chance to compete for the starting job in Buffalo in the 2018-19 season. Another thing to consider is the age and potential for the Sabres. Buffalo, okay a fan biased opinion, is on the rise. Have a lot to look forward to. Chicago will be on a steady decline. Not saying they're on their way to being a struggling, playoff bubble team. However, they won't be a Cup contender for long. If I was Petersen, I'd sign w/ a team like Buffalo. Opportunity to play and a team w/ a lot of potential is something he has to consider.
  5. :w00t: Wow!
  6. For Nashville to have a chance they'll have to win both home games.
  7. You've got to be kidding. What a joke. Pittsburgh is in control of this series now. Rinne choked a big one.
  8. I'll second that, but what matters is the scoreboard and win/loss column. Pittsburgh is up 1-0 in the series. Game 2 is tied after 1 period. Nashville would love for it to be the other way around.
  9. Love it when the movie Slap Shot is on. Wait, never mind. It's a hockey game w/ bad officiating.
  10. Watched this video for the first time today. Funny stuff. And no, I do not support the coaches challenge. Dump it.
  11. I enjoy watching this video. Covers all of Middle Earth (The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings). A tribute that brings it all to an end. The Hobbit was nowhere close to Lord of the Rings, but it's still entertaining. We'll never see another Middle Earth movie. Yes, there is "The Silmarillion", but the Tolkien estate has the film rights. And as of now they have no interests in allowing a movie(s). Middle Earth fans give the video a watch. It's worth it.
  12. Housley all the way. I'm a big fan of Ruff, hope all goes well for him. But at times it's best to move on and not return. I understand this would be Housely's first head coaching position in the NHL, but the potential is there. Feel he would have an immediate impact on the Sabres d'. Will admit a reason to bring Ruff back is his ability to adapt to the players; meaning don't force a system on them. Play a style of game that matches the players you have. The defense needs tremendous help though, so I'm staying w/ Housely.
  13. He most likely would have set a new record for majors won. Don't think he would've crushed it though.
  14. Predators fan is facing 3 charges for throwing a catfish on the ice last night. One of the charges is possessing instruments of crime. That instrument was the catfish. https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/predators-fan-charged-for-tossing-dead-catfish-on-ice-at-stanley-cup-game Pittsburgh is overreacting.
  15. Looks good. Hope Superman returns in the movie.
  16. And every goalie is due for an "off" game or stretch. Rinne has been great during the playoffs. Hope this was a one night collapse. Pulling for Nashville in this series.
  17. 1st shot in 37 minutes :censored: And screw it. Game would've been 4-4 right now had NBC/NHL not yanked the opener by Nashville.
  18. Tie game it is! Should be 4-3 Nashville though
  19. Nashville should have 2 goals now
  20. No, just a rulebook. NHL Public Relations "If a review is not conclusive and/or there is any doubt whatsoever as to whether the call on the ice was correct, the on-ice Official(s) will be instructed to confirm their original call."
  21. With upmost certainty.
  22. If there is any doubt, a call is not to be over turned. His foot was not clearly in the air.
  23. Goals 2 and 3 were legit. First Penguins goal was a gimme' from the refs. Goal taken from Nashville was complete bs. Still can't believe it was over turned.
  24. The refs screwed things up for Nashville. If it were the Sabres in this game I honestly don't know how I'd react w/ the calls made this period.
  25. :censored: And the NHL gets an assist on that goal!
