That's an achievement. Seriously, congrats on that! To get a look by an MLB team is something to be proud of. Too bad the UFC wasn't around. Could have done it there! Now that is cool stuff. To beat world class athletes is a major accomplishment. Ha Had to be fun seeing the Olympic athletes on tv and saying yeah, I smoked that guy. Way to go Ubkev!

I'll second that. But you gotta admit Nashville dominated much of the play in games 1 and 2. Especially the series opener. Pekka was beyond bad. Had he played an average game the Predators would most likely be up 3-1 right now.

:w00t: That was awesome!!!! Your friend had to know who really won the game! Way to go man. You had guts!

Ever play a sport? If so, tell us about it. Provide your most memorable experiences from it. Here's mine. Grew up playing soccer, basketball and baseball, but the sports I had the most amount of success in were cross country and track. I was a distance runner. While in high school, I won the state title in Mississippi twice in the 3200 (2 mile). During my senior year, I was recruited by schools as far north as Buffalo. UB and Canisius wanted my twin brother and I. Largest school to west was Oklahoma. Ended up signing with Mississippi College. It was a D3 school in the American Southwest Conference. Won the Conference title as a freshman. Regretted signing w/ a D3 school. Could have gone to a major D1 school, so I got in touch w/ a few SEC schools that recruited me and asked if they were still interested. LSU and MSU (Mississippi State) offered scholarships right away. Ended up choosing MSU. Competing in the SEC for cross country and track was a lot of fun. Please share what you are most proud of. Already excited to read the memories you have!

Nashville has made the playoffs 10 times in the last 13 seasons. They're routinely putting out a competitive team. If Nashville is ever in the basement they won't be there long. May not be in a traditional hockey market, but they seem to have a strong fan base. Not a 15 minutes of fame going on.

Unless the Sabres are under the impression Kane will not re-sign for a reasonable amount, I do not support the trade of Kane. Countless times Eichel expressed signs of frustration when a player he setup couldn't finish. Kane is a proven top 6 forward. He has the numbers to back that up. And tired of people using the off ice issues as a reason to get rid of him. What went down was in the wrong, but what amazes me is had this occurred in the NFL it would've been "forgotten" already. The Sabres need Kane for the goal scoring. Also need to consider playoff hockey. The game is much different in the post-season. Players get away w/ extra physical play. Kane is needed for that.

Ullmark is an RFA. If the Sabres don't have him protected, quite sure they do not, Las Vegas will have from June 18th to June 20th to sign him. Assuming we'll find out on the 21st. Hoping Buffalo doesn't lose him. Would like him to be the backup next season. Still hoping Petersen will sign w/ the Sabres. But the odds seem to be low.

Looks very intimidating.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
GoPre replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
Enjoyed Alien Covenant very much. Left a few legitimate questions to be answered in the next Alien movie. Supposedly 2 more movies are being made to bring the story full circle. 1 may take place before Covenant. As of now, production, according to Ridley Scott, will begin next year. Apparently he's wanting to crank them out fast. Alien Covenant is worth watching. -
I'm pulling for Nashville. Have a great time tonight! Possible once in a lifetime experience. Enjoy! Were the charges against him dropped? Just checked. They were dropped. The guy referred to himself as a "dumb redneck." He didn't need to say that. Admitting he made a mistake was all he needed to do.

I don't see many players from North America doing that. Why risk injury? Why sit out a year knowing they may get picked by another team they have little desire to play for? Most players, if this rule was put into play, would accept the fact they have to play for the team that selected them. Most already do that.
-
In the NFL if a player does not want to play for a team that picks him, he has to sit out and then re-enter the draft. It's as simple as that. They eventually have to go to a team that picks them. There is not a sit out and test the market in the NFL. Should be the same for NHL.
-
Waiting until his junior year was over is fine. What's not fine is the current rule. If a player does not want to play for a team that picked him, he should have to enter the next draft. Go the route of the NFL on that one.
-
I was referring to how many college seasons he played. Did you expect Petersen to come out before his junior year? Point being made is that Petersen was most likely not a player that was ready for the professional ranks after his freshman or sophomore year. 3 seasons at Notre Dame helped improve his level of play.
-
Petersen played 3 years at Notre Dame, not 4. Takes time to improve. Takes time to reach a level of potential people say you can reach. Ryan Miller put in 3 years. Even Marty St. Louis waited until after his junior year in college.
-
Foreseeable? Sure, but the odds, in Murray's opinion, had to be very low. Buffalo had to feel Petersen was a lock. They were, as Briere48 pointed out, sending someone to Notre Dame to help him develop his game. All things can be foreseeable to a certain extent. Heck, I can even say the Sabres need to consider the idea of Eichel not wanting to stay w/ Buffalo after his ELC expires. Yes, he'll be an RFA. But Eichel could tell the Sabres he'll stay in Buffalo for the RFA period, but leave after that. If that occurred, the Sabres would need to trade him to get something out of it. So yes, it all can be foreseeable. But you really gotta consider the odds of that happening. Let me add I think the odds of Eichel wanting out of Buffalo are extremely low.

Okay, when you read a post please don't overthink. You took it in a way it was not meant.

Dank needs to post more often.

No offense, but jokes, if that is one, like that are very inappropriate.
-
NHL should go that route. Prevents a player from gaining control. If Petersen didn't want to come to Buffalo, he could enter next years draft. The Sabres, after being turned down by Petersen, than have an opportunity to trade him for a pick or prospect.
-
In the NFL, if a player does not want to sign w/ a team that drafted them, aren't they allowed to sit out 1 season and enter the next draft?
-
How many pages did the Vesey thread have? Might want to get an over/under going.
-
Pekka had that covered. He was against the post. For a SLIT second there was a SMALL gap between his arm and midsection.

Nailed it
