Well that's the problem. Should have hired a more experienced coach for an inexperienced team. He shouldn't need to "grow". I was supportive of hiring Phil but now I'm very doubtful. How many seasons do we give him to "grow"? Also "great players" don't necessarily make good coaches.

While I tend to agree with this I also find agreement with Terry' s statement "something has to change". Frankly that has to be players or the coach. This team underperformed grossly after November. I think we need to stick with a plan but what plan? Whose plan? I assume the GM or owner. Housley should be on short leash. He ,I feel, has not got anywhere near the results the talent on this team should have. Playoffs? I didn't expect that. Take away that ten game stretch and we're worst than last year with more talent.
-
Just can't see them not giving him half of next season.
-
Seriously, is this team trying to get Housley fired?
-
For the record. Tonight's anthem was not close to last night's which some on here criticized.
-
Not in this case.
-
I know we still need more talent but this team is not as bad as their record.

Exactly

Well Lindy is the best Sabres coach in over twenty years.
-
I'm more and more thinking trade Risto while he still has some value. Maybe some GM hasn't looked at him.
-
Sarcasm I'm sure.
-
Yes if I thought my experience and expertise justified it. Otherwise I'd hire someone who had those qualities.
-
Yes but why not get the best pick you can. The seasons over like it or not. Understand your frustration.
-
Sabres outplayed. Game not nearly as close as the score. Is Housley THE problem? No. Nevertheless he's part of it.

Be nice if posters named their sources for so much inside info they seem so sure of. Gossip vs facts demand more than "I heard" or " know". Where did you hear? How do you know? Do I hear crickets?
-
My reasoning for coaching change is that for this team I think mire experience may be needed. I supported his hire but in hindsight(always 20/20) this is a young team, coach and GM. Not sure more experience isn't needed from ownership down.

"Wept for him" oh please! Sounds like the majority of fans are weeping about ROR not still being here. After all he was our best player outside of Jack on the team .
-
Buffalo pride? More like poor sportsmanship. He was traded he didn't say anything about Buffalo. Although fans have now given him reason.
-
Emphasis on stupid. Risto has lost a lot in my admiration society.
-
Solid player.

Should just have kept Ruff. Hindsight is great. He is better than anyone who has followed him.
