Brandon has done well but , to be fair, I'm not sure that being a GM in hockey isn't more difficult. Drafting in hockey is more speculative than in football when you're looking at 23 year olds.

I don't hate him. But not sure I like him either. Frankly the ROR trade , if it was solely Botterill then I'm down with dumping him. I'm not convinced it was not as much ownership as anything. So I'll see what the next six months brings and it better look different.

I'm giving him this next draft and off season when we shed some money. He now doesn't have space to do much. That's not excusing him but money in has to be matched by money out. Can't see any impact moves this season. Maybe be sel!ers at dead!ine. Off season have to find help because next season may well be his last.

He's what 18 years old maybe just 19? Not sure. I'm not all that concerned yet. Sure media had him an instant Bobby Orr but you know how that usually goes.

This is not the year for trades. We're not in a position to make playoffs. Any moves should be minor not big of significant just to improve this year. Unfortunately many think JBott isn't the guy to build going forward and I've moved closer to that position myself. I have a hard time finding four guys on this team I would not be willing to see gone.

Problem with this is that most teams can defend one line of that's all they have to do over a period of time. Not saying not to do this just that I don't believe that's a sustainable answer.
