For the record. I'm a Sabre fan. Have been since they came into the league. I want them to be successful. Goalies are not where I want them to spend big on but an upgrade on our backup would be nice. Spend big at other positions. If they can find one #1 or #2 scoring winger and a third line center and marginally upgrade our goalkeeper I'm happy invest your money in scoring..

Maybe they just got lucky.

Not to drag on but I hope Adams and Krueger work out, I really do. Seems like the Bills have a mtg. and coach team now. I also think football and hockey are much different animals when it comes to building a team. I don't have confidence in the owners making hockey or football decisions. They are fans who were fortunate enough to be i n a position to purchase the team. I have nothing personal against them. I'm simply looking at results. The buck stops at the owners.

We're in a position that we need free agent help. We don't have the assets to fill our most glaring holes by trades only. We'd be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I'm not concerned with whether or not I'm helping or hurting another team. I'm concerned with helping my team. Period. Frankly I don't care about other teams.

Exactly where I am. My major problem is ownership. Chaos. They don't seem to be able to put together a stable organization. We seem totally without a set plan only swinging doors of bad hires. Now he's signed a very nice and, I believe , intelligent guy with no real experience to run his team with a coach who I like a lot but also no real proven record in the NHL. This leads me to think the real decision makers are the Pegulas in whom my trust hahas pretty much evaporated.

Like I said. I hope you're right and I'm wrong. One thing you're right about is they've made mistakes. The passion part? I don't care about. I know he's gone into squirrel mode since things have gone south and the media started questioning.

First. If you can't make the playoffs in this league you're not a good team. Second Terry Pegula and Kim have overseen what by most accounts seems to be a chaotic and rudderless operation. He's proved you can't just buy a hockey team without good management. He inherited the best we've had since he's owned the team. I hope I'm wrong and your optimism is well founded.

Do you think we will be in on any of those big deals? I really don't. Depth signings? That's one thing we can do. Anyone could draft two elite talents. The problem is apparently getting players that choose us. That's why I think trades are the only way to get someone in here and with so many NTC that further limits possibilities. Sorry but I think Pegula has lost any credibility as a hockey owner he may have ever had. Hope I'm wrong we'll know by the time hockey is played again. PA was right on our owner . I'm just a little late coming around to believing we may have the worst owner in the league. Nice enough but not to smart.

I agree. The big fish are still there but now they have to land one.

The Sabres now are left between a rock and hard place. They have to make a big splash or live with what could be a total fan drop out. I wonder if the Pegulas even care anymore. Keep the Bills and sell the hockey team.

I do think Eichel will be asking out after next season. If they don't make playoffs. That seems, at the moment, very likely unfortunately.

Is there a chance we could trade the Pegulas?

I've never been big on using free agency but I think we've been put in a place where we needed to make one significant hit this year. We are at this point worst on paper than last season and that's factoring in the Stall deal.

I'm becoming convinced that we have to make trades if we are going to get anything we need. Free agency is pretty much drying up it appears. Maybe we're in running for Tofoli or Hall but I don't have much faith in that.
