A bit of an over statement but so be it.

Rangers match our speed
-
They set up like it was a power play on that.
-
I'm not as concerned now with wins vs losses. Just what their complete level is overall and how the young guys develop. At this point I'm not selective on who they play. With our record why sbould we deminish our play based on be it Washington or the Rangers? I mean I'm not expecting us to out play the top tier teams we're not there yet. But play hard against them I expect.

If you were GMKA, what is the most you would pay Reinhart to extend?

Sam is 25 almost 26 I believe. I'm saying he's given 6 or 7 years. How does 7/6.75 sit with you? I think that's as good as you get. Not sure they would accept that though. -
You and Labatte Blue help keep our feet planted😀
-
Now this is exactly how I feel. Your hope in Skinner is higher than mine probably but he's here and his contract requires us to make the best possible usage of him. Whoever our coach is I'll be watching how he utilizes Skinner.

While I agree with your position unfortunately owners are willing to spend. So to complete that means spend. Look at how over priced free agency is. That's what your competing with. Hockey with it's guaranteed contracts is much different than say football. -
Good points. Agree we're in tough competition.

Then you will complain "we need a forward". You don't improve your team by trading your best players. -

Well he's the second best. -
Agree on the goaltending. I agree with you on the Skinner contract. Disagree that we're "a long way away from a playoff team". It will take some well placed moves but I think we're closer than what you think.
-
Agree totally. Plus Rex was a bad bead coach to begin with. I do be!ieve Rex was Russ Brandon's honey to promote ticket sales but again ownership must take ownership.
-
Could care less about the demeanor. Care a lot about performance. Actually I don't care much about athletes other than performance. L
-
My point is that Rex had HC experience in the NFL. I agree that Granato has experience as a coach but many on here are talking about experience has to be NHL experience. Hence the comparison Rex and McD.
-
How did that work out? As opposed to the inexperienced McD?
-
Very possible. I think this is a very young team in immediate future. That would seem to influence whoever is chosen as the next coach. That's why I don't think Torts and his like would be a good fit. Leaman and Granato both fit to the degree of developing players it seems. Questions on them are obviously lack of NHL experience. I'm undecided on how important NHL experience is as opposed to just coaching experience. The game is still he game and maybe we complicate jt too much. Coaching players vs coaching hockey so to speak. Systems? How many can there really be?
-
Bad? Record says they are. Improving? Eye test says they are. Long way from competing with good teams? Not sure they are.
-
Glad go see that!

This is s!ipping
-
Well that's quick.

My position still is to wait for off season and evaluate this. Frankly, I'm not on Granato bandwagon or off it. The team has improved up to now under him but let's wait until seasons over. Past two games and remaining games are tough schedule we'll see. I'm not one who buys in on he should be disqualified simply because he's associated with the team though.
-
I believe we can upgrade goaltending this off season. Coaching I think has looked better under Granato. See what happens over remaining games and what decisions are made for coaching.
-
But not just for appearance to satisfy fans.
-
I doubt he would be hired without even the consideration of other possibilities. Frankly interviews can be face to face, zoom or phone. I'm sure our last coach interviewed very well. Most established coaches and their records are well documented. I'm not against hiring an established coach (with the exception of Torts who I think is a bad match) but I'm going to base support or lack of it for Granato on his performance only which to this point is pretty impressive in my mind. Let's see what the next remaining games look like.
