Worst team to watch because I'm not at all optimistic in this being fixed in the near future. Been watching them since they came into the league and this is the most down on them I've ever been. Not sure I'll see a playoff team until I'm done following them.

Same here. Been fan since team inception and this is how I feel. Truthfully Kane may be one of a couple moves possible. We have a lot tied up in contracts that are probably not tradeable. At my age I'm resigned to probably not seeing championship hockey here but at least give me entertaining and competitive games to watch.

Frankly it's hard to argue with this. Is it all the coach? No. But these guys actually have regressed under Phil and I'm not sure it's learning a new system at this point. I was all for hiring Phil but I'm nit liking this at all.

Yeah, but unfortunately this isn't possible. This team has quit on their coach or the coach can't get them up to play. I'm finding it hard to believe it's all talent. Beginning to wonder if this team has real problems internally. They don't seem in it at all. Seriously.

Hard to believe but could Housley be gone after first year or sooner. This is really looking bad.

I'm worried. Jack's two way game hasn't seemed to impress me as it has you. The only real scorer at this stage seems to be Kane. Given we can't win with Kane playing at his current level seems to reinforce the argument to trade him for more assets. This team overall seems lacking in all areas. Our goaltending is at this point a strong area compared to the rest of the team. We also have some pretty hefty long term contracts that are not producing.

I agree. Fans have become so used to talking defense that we're overlooking our dismal offense. For me get best deal regardless of forward or defense.

The Bills are not a good football team no matter which qb is in there. Their record is far better than the team. I think .500 season will be better than my expectations going into the season.

I am giving him this season and I hope things turn around but I think he's subject to the same scrutiny any other coach has been. Players are not performing up to their past performances. I'm talking about our core guys and not our defense in particular.

You may be right although I personally don't buy losing culture and if I did isn't coaching important to culture? Do you think Babcock would have the same results we're seeing? I'm not sure. Just think the honeymoon for Phil is shorter than for the GM, at least in my mind, and I'm beginning to question him as head coach. That's subject to change as I'm aware this is new for him. I like him but liking him as a person and as a coach are two different things.

Troubling thing is that the talent should be no worst than last season. In fact I would argue on paper it's better. The play has gone down hill. As much as Bylsma was disliked and as much as I liked the idea of hiring Phil I must admit new system or not I'm beginning to look more at the coaching. That's where the big change was.

Again I must note that Dunleavy has to be the worst play by play guy in hockey.

My point is I lean heavily toward Kane will want to test free agency and our chances of signing him would be slim. JBot is in a tough spot here. It may not be a question of should we extend him. Some on the board seem to think this is in the team's hands. I'm more inclined that it's more in Kane's agents hands.

I actually agree with much of what Pokey posts. I just don't feel as emotionally involved as he seems to be. Actually I was a little late to the party in coming to agree with his view of this team.

Are you assuming he would sign and not test free agency? I believe if he was going to sign it had to be before reaching last year of his deal. He's going to free agency and playing now for that huge payday free agency is known for. His value will not be higher than it is right now.

He's maybe number one on my trade list. Only problem is that right now he's not worth much. I think Kane is going to be traded anyway so may as well sooner than later because this team's going nowhere this year. We're playing the lottery game again it seems.

Bet Housley is glad he picked Buffalo to start his head coaching career with.
