  1. Good points. A coach needs to be able to manage personalities. Professional athletes are not always best buddies with their teammates. It's nice when they are but most of us have worked with people we weren't best friends with yet respected their abilities. Athletes have strong competitive egoes but good coaches need to be able to deal with it. It's not just x's and o's.
  2. Can't disagree in that the indication was that there would be changes. There still may be. I agree at this point little has changed. I do feel our talent is better than our record and management has to figure that out. Nevertheless ROR I think was the second best player on the team and now slips to third. I much prefer to keep him unless he just wants out or he is a problem for some reason other than his play.
  3. Sorry if I misunderstood. My hunch is that his value to us is greater than offers made. I'm not sure JBott wants to trade him but only would for a large return. The speculation he "needs" to be traded is just that....speculation.
  4. Now we are not talking like earlier when people seemed to think don't trade him unless it's a great deal not trade him unless the offers atrocious.
  5. Isn't he from Toronto? In any case Toronto is a popular place as a hockey player I would presume.
  6. Unless they flip him in a deal for ROR which is unlikely.
  7. I don't believe they would trade ROR because he's older than other key members of the team. I don't think they will look at older players in free agency but there's always a chance I suppose.
  8. Hope so. Looks more like it than I thought prior to today.
  9. Seems to me that if he's not traded prior to paying the bonus why rush to trade him unless it's a deal you can't refuse.
  10. Vegas is signing Stastny so I doubt they're in on JT.
  11. Still hoping we don't trade ROR. Only the team knows if there is discord but if there isn't I can't understand trading him.
  12. Thanks for your insight. My obvious insight trumps yours.
  13. I use Colorado as an example of having turn around season without big changes to their roster. This team of ours I believe under performed for the talent we have. Better goaltending and defense could change things as well as a few young guys progressing.
  14. Agree. This is where we find out if this is Botterill needing to trade him (culture/locker room problems) or has a deal that improves our team now.
  15. That's the only rationale I can think of as well and we must trust Botterill to handle it. I love ROR as a player but I'm not in a position to make those assessments.

    Politics....

Please NO politics. There are , I'm sure, other sites for such interests.
  17. Okay, now I'm moving closer to your thinking as I'm on record on not wanting to trade ROR. My feeling is we're going to and if that's the case then his value is,in my opinion, along the lines of what the rumors are saying.
  18. Agree. I'm not cool. I enjoy his perspective on hockey but his sarcasm and attacks on ownership get old at times. PA bad moment my saying leave. My bad.
  19. Expected no less from you. But nevertheless my prediction is no matter what we get for ROR or if we keep him the naysayers on here will have a field day.
  20. By what I've read he is thought of that highly by the Blues organization. The only thing is the Blues are in a win now mode and might look at ROR as filling the need now and yet not that old. His contract is also a factor. It's one that some teams won't or can't take on.
