Just dawned on me. ROR was heavily criticized for "losing his love for the game " by fans who seem to have lost their love of the Sabres. Some even saying they stopped watching games. Guess I sort of accept both parties on this. Can't criticise either.

I'm on record of liking ROR a lot. Hated to see it end the way it did. Also on record saying I'm surprised we got what we did. ROR is a very good all around hockey player not an elite one.

A lot of allegedly in your post. Unfortunately I do think Jack will get flak if this team doesn't perform better. For me it's more abut his play. I'm one who thinks it's relatively rare a captain literally takes a team further than it's collective players can go.

I agree with previous poster I would be happy with 60 points. I'm wondering if Rinehart tends to be a lazy player. He's smart and talented but is he motivated? Does he have the drive to win or is he settling to just be in the league? Just wondering.

I think likewise on your team expectations. I will look more at how they are playing energy wise and that over used but nevertheless true how they compete. Standings are, for me, less important. My confidence in Housley is not high at this point. Hope I'm wrong he seems like a nice guy and knows by experience what it takes to play in this league. Can he impart that to others? We'll see.

I agree. Not sure I'm sold on our head coach and I do think too much hate was aimed at Bylsma at times. If this team looks in November like it did last November the pitchforks will come out aimed at Housley.

Wouldn't predict playoffs but the rest of your post I'm on board with.

After reflecting on this trade I'm brought to this. I love ROR as a player. I hated to see him go...as a player. Nevertheless it seems we got back a return I didn't think we would. I never doubted in any trade the best player in the trade would be our guy. I didn't think we would get two serviceable NHL players,a first and second round draft pick and a good prospect for ROR. Further let's face it we were a last place hockey team. So as much as I'm sad he got traded I'm not as down on the return as many and at the end if the day we were last place with him.

I have all along said how much I like ROR. Also that if he's traded it's not because of his play. I have to believe that either he asked to be traded or there was something in the speculation of locker room discord. At the end of the day we got what speculation was saying was the asking price. A 1st,prospect and roster players. I was a ROR fan but they got actually more than I expected at the end of the day.

Make me another in agreement with this. I'm hoping if ROR has to be traded it's for improvement now and going forward. This team is better with him in my opinion.
