  1. Paved (relative) paradise, put up a parking lot
  2. The entire sabres organizational system down through every facet of the operation is infected by the lack of expectation that set in so thoroughly, owing to those in change too dangerously pushing the boundaries of how far winning in the now could be put off. They pushed and pushed and it broke: the players know the team isn’t really about winning. The players know the “playoffs or bust” mindset parroted coming in was bogus: too little, too late. At odds with operational spending and roster construction. no one believes. I don’t know what term we want to use…people are throwing around heart…but it’s context based. People know the expectations are low in *buffalo*. Players know they can ease up here, and the worst case scenario is they get dealt to a better team Mike Tomlin always says the Steelers have a Standard. There’s no standard here, no embarrassment too low. There will be individual players that have a personal standard and push against this, but we know one talent can’t carry a lineup: much the same with one or two mindsets. Only a matter of time before they get swallowed up by the current they are swimming against it: flowing powerfully from on high
  3. lol there’s a portion of my brain (usually summoned W/alchohol)) that loves this team, in as is condition. kinda funny that they always lose. like u know when u say a word a bunch of times in a row and it loses all meaning temporarily? I/we do that with now 14 years missed playoffs im sorry… FOURTEEN years? that is objectively hilarious
  4. Why achieve success now when we can build long term sustainable greatness There should honestly be a board filter applied where any defence of any member of the organization gets blocked until we make the playoffs they all suck. No one deserves our effort This franchise is just taking a big sh*t everywhere
  5. I’m actually shocked at the level of ineptitude the franchise is willing to put up with. This is rather insane
  6. There is no reason a GM averaging 70 points for half a decade should have a job none Under the parameters of Terry’s restrictions, he’s failed utterly
  7. I think we’re had adequate goaltending for roughly 5% of Adams’ tenure
  8. Going gets tough, a tough GM goes to work well done mr Adams, I wasn’t familiar with your game
  9. The answer here is only ever “it’ll take more time” the quiet part out loud is they don’t actually care about them
  10. They’ll care about winning if they want their friends and family to be happy That’s the reason I watch - it’s the joy of celebrating with loved ones And it’s why runs like 2006 are enough.
  11. A lot don’t
  12. Not only in aspiration but in mechanics, as well. The only possible plan of action should we change GMs is another long form rebuild, of course
  13. The whole thing is being presented backwards again. We have seen the results: they are in fact very bad under Adams, league relative, for a long period of time. That’s the actual, objective standings based result, the “answer” if you will. We can work backwards to see where management went wrong we are still projecting out a “who could have expected it to be bad?” mindset based on a *personally biased* analysis of the work Adams did through the prism of the moment. We don’t need to do that: we have the actual results
  14. lol go check the samuelsson thread and read my response to see if it’s only a sketchy deal in hindsight
  15. How soon can you extend a GM currently under contract? Just curious
  16. Tbh it doesn’t really matter what happens the rest of this season. I’ve seen enough; Playoffs next year for sure purely based on the growth internally
  17. Honestly, have to hand it to Kevyn Adams
