  1. Dahlin on a 75 point 82 game pace as a D man this year while far and away our mvp in doing so. A phenom, who I fear we are wasting
  2. - - - On a separate note, I’m sort of tired of hearing about how “talented” we are. Is team defence a talent? Is hockey sense a talent? Is navigating the ups and downs of a season talent? We sick snipe sometimes are are sitting 12th overall in goals. Hang the banner? We are awful at defence - playing in other zones than the offensive one also requires talent
  3. As for the poll, options 1 and 5 should be side by side. Peas in a pod. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin. That’s passion, that’s sports. That’s life, really. That’s me and the Buffalo Sabres nowadays The true fear is neglect. Indifference. I haven’t had much luck being indifferent to this team and I don’t think that ever happens There’s one team. That’ll really all there is to it.
  4. He can’t really pass, maybe they didn’t want a line where he’s the focal point considering his streakiness. Or it’s just outright sabres stench
  5. This tournament might represent the first hockey game I’ve watched this year for a full 60 im sort of excited to care about hockey again tbh It’s also the first best on best since 2016, so that’s something the first chance guys like McDavid and Eichel have had to compete for their countries at the top level Not to mention Dahlin
  6. Loll Howdy Doody
  7. There’s no point fandangling on any of this if Pegula never spends to the cap. There’s no sense worrying about fitting things under an internal budget: the internal budget means poop is in store regardless Power’s deal isnt a burden on any team serious about winning. There, fixed it If we aren’t serious about winning, it doesn’t matter anyways
  8. I don’t know. I was just saying he provided 15 more wins over the course of 82 than whoever the other goalies are
  9. Meh. I was right about Samuelsson Im sure I’m right about Power, too If theres some sort of hockey trade where we are getting the (win now) value back we felt Power was worth, the day we drafted him, sure. hockey trades are always a fine consideration His contract isn’t an issue. We don’t spend to the cap! Meaningless. Even if we did, it’s skyrocketing
  10. And there are more headshots than injuries from headshots but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem not taking issue with your whole post but the bolded logic doesn’t make very much sense Not saying you aren’t “right” either re the rest of what you are saying but the bold is neither here nor there as it’s simply an inevitability. Could apply same logic to guns
  11. So he’s been coated in Kevyn Adams’ bath water*. So what. I’m not losing the asset cause howdy doody** effed up his contract *think about it. Visually. I can only paint so clear a picture, you need to envision the bath water scenario thoroughly to take my meaning. **how does it feel to know you’ve created a meme that will unquestionably stand the test of time around here?
  12. Honestly I like our new threads
  13. Yup, team D Stanley freakin sucks, even ask Ducky
  14. Maybe try spending to the damn cap before trading your first overall pick MAYBE
  15. It’s not just defenders making our defence bad. It’s also the combined effort of our entire F group and the times our goalies revert back into pumpkins. The TEAM DEFENCE sucks. Now, I’m not saying Power doesn’t play his part in that but what people are missing is *he is supposed to.* He is a 22 year old fledgling defender. Remember Dahlin? There are growing pains i cannot stress this enough: please do not get fooled again. It’s insane that sabres fans most often seem to be the ones incapable of maintaining context, considering we are the ones going through it. WARNING DO NOT IGNORE THE CONTEXT = Power struggling defensively at 22 isn’t unusual. Icing the youngest team in hockey every single year is unusual. Do not throw the baby out with the bath water. Power WILL figure it out. He will be VERY good. Running it back? Do not make the mistake of running back the dealing of Reinhart and Eichel as they were entering their primes Cassidy didn’t “unlock” Eichel. Eichel unlocked Eichel. Eichel turning 24 unlocked Eichel. Playing on a competent team with an eye on winning unlocked Eichel
  16. Well I mean, the bold is exactly what’s happening
  17. Generally, at least anecdotally from my recollection, it’s usually the case that the GM fields the roster, the coach configures the lines. But the GM also hires the coach so presumably a competent organization will do due diligence to ensure there’s philosophical alignment. Part of my thinks the GM specifically stays out of line configuration because it allows for a layer of separation so blame can be levied
  18. The reason is nothing. The will is everything. - - - I’m not arguing against you. I’m fighting with you. Mistaken if you think my aim is to win an argument: it’s to demonstrate that Adams stinks. To the bold, if those are your facts, I say: So be it. Let the records show, we aren’t spending due to a choice made by the GM
  19. (a nice try) but nonetheless FALSE because the descriptor I used (“cheap”) need not apply. It need not matter the reasons why we do not spend: the act of not spending in itself (which is demonstrable) is (also demonstrably) linked inextricably with failure to win Merely the most demonstrable
  20. We’ve tarred and feathered Occam’s razor’s good name in the pursuit of the avoidance of boredom congrats team
  21. He didn’t quit cause of meddling he quit cause he didn’t agree with the lack of spending The opposition was to the firings AKA the cut staff AKA the saved $
