  1. Ones that weren’t working sometimes just start working, I’ve found one now. Just keep trying, it’s so different this year and I assume going forward. It’s tough
  2. no tv no stream make thorny go something something
  3. Re: your small sample size selection there @Taro T I will say I don’t find the results of those games very compelling when our best game of the year was played without Samuelsson not only that, but prob our best game *defensively*. The problem with the “rally around it!” line of thinking is that it works both ways: could easily argue, without Samuelsson’s noted defensive presence in the lineup, the team rallied around a putting out a better defensive effort as a group. Saw it in Winnipeg. In the end, it’s easier to make up what Samuelsson provides than Dahlin. Dahlin is significantly better at offence than Samuelsson is at D. Dahlin is more advanced in his field, relative to other players with that strength league wide. Dahlin is also a better defender which makes the whole argument kinda wonky but, I digress
  4. I’m not giving the “we’d be better off with Dahlin out for a game” thing credence, sorry. Unless, Game 7, cup final, you say right now you, Taro, would remove Dahlin first, given the choice. If gun to head you’d truly remove Dahlin before Samuelsson, for game 7, cup final, I’ll just concede the argument right now because to claim something that extreme, given your general aversion to hyperbole and favouring of reasoned statements, that you’ve foreseen something I haven’t and cannot grasp not even a joke. You’d remove Dahlin b/f Samuelsson, single must win playoff game? Sure, I’m on board by the power of grey skull !
  5. No it’s pretty funny. Face is red etc etc Less known quote from Volker ”spelling is very difficult, especially if you are trying to spell words”
  6. It is. I noticed that but didn’t think it substantially changed my statement. Maybe I faux pas -d Edit just realized I typed road lol Oh well, thought it was just the “to” “of” thing 😆 Im leaving it up
  7. The board often reacts poorly to even the contemplation of questions like the OP proposed
  8. Always a tough road of hoe
  9. We don’t need a miracle because Samuelsson is out Samuelsson is objectively overrated around here, I’m sorry. He’s objectively overrated. He’s a good player there’s way too much shark-jumping going on. First it was being argued we’d sooner remove Dahlin, the league’s best d-man, for Samuelsson, for a singular playoff game. If that isn’t ridiculous enough, Now we need a “miracle” to win without him hes JAGP. just a good player. He’s not an MVP on this team. He’s 3rd, just considering D. Totally fair, but I think THEY are which in this case for me is the rub
  10. And there it is. Granato said today lineup decision were about Winning Peterka, and his development, has been Blocked, by a player we added in season Its a good day
  11. True, it was almost immediately forgivable in that sense. Not only did we win I’m pretty sure we scored almost immediately lol
  12. Gotta play this on the Tron should this night come to pass
  13. Never forgiving Boychuk Or Mario for somehow being in exactly the right spot. Give me a damn break, Mario. Ive forgiven Smolinski because his grin being immortalized is funny and punishment enough I won’t get over them prioritizing Drury over Briere until we are Back. Should be soon on that, though.
  14. As for Greenway, didn’t really notice him. Way too early to glean anything. I only have him as a bottom 6 winger going forward though, I think even the mid-6 stuff is noise. Nothing wrong with that, though. He amounts to more, all the better
  15. Was drafted as a d man
  16. Watching Oates as a kid, specifically, was formative in developing what I value most in a player. People’s mileage varies a lot on this obviously but it’s also the most entertaining style/skill to me: the whiz playmaker. On a side note, the commentator on SN yesterday said “former Sabre Adam Oates”. Wut.
  17. Wanted to add the above, as I feel it fits in with your salient opening lime below
  18. Tbh I’m with you lol. But I’m well on record saying I’d be disappointed if anyone currently on the roster is the 1G next year
  19. You “laughed” at that @GASabresIUFANbut it’s true: Even in the very unlikely event Power proved to be our #1 pp guy, we’d run 2 D on the PP before Power takes his place outright
  20. Did you watch the Jets game I was there, I didn’t see Samuelsson out there. I might have missed him though as the puck was in the Jets end the entire damn game
  21. Sorry, I already tabulated the votes. His raw totals, ala Karlsson, were just too hard to ignore - - - In seriousness, no, I think we was the biggest im saying this in a thread where I presented evidence to the fact I more less pointed out, 2 years ago, exactly what would happen so, I’m not being humble. Not that I ever am.
  22. I call bullsh*t
  23. Ya, Dahlin won’t lose PP time to anyone. There will always be someone more deserving of having their minutes lessened
  24. We should. If we believe in the principles of mathematics. Not to mention how lucky we’ve been on the injury front. Still, I’d pencil Dahlin in pretty darn confidently as an exception that proves the rule. Become league’s best d... shift to the right.. he probably just does whatever it is we want him to. Cozens has too balanced a game to fail to provide significant value even if, for a season, the points dry up a tad. The rub is that we have mathematically likely reasons to expect some of the likely regression to be offset by the inverse: it’s operating on the same logical principle: Quinn Krebs yada yada. I trust KA’s evaluation of guys like Quinn to the extent there’s no reason to think we can’t see a pretty level playing field in that “career year vs regression” sense, going forward, for a few years. Ie, the Window. Maintaining a status quo offensive output is contender worthy, no? Proof is in pudding re: the ranking next year. It’s just another thing that comes back to GM aptitude. If he’s got the right young players identified, it’s fine. A skill we need anyways, going forward, considering the necessity contending teams have of cycling in ELC talent in the end going from good to great depends on goalie, and Power. Goalie is the biggest. Self explanatory If Power is another exception to the rule, just in general, careers wise (not a bad bet, #1 overall pick) we are simply going to be GMing from a place of privilege for years. That’s what having 2 all stars who combined can play 2/3rds of any game and more less a full playoff game will do. We already have a Smythe Guy in Rasmus Oh man, TL;DR - everyone said all this above me and I took way too long writing it up
