  1. Can’t get to the spot where more than one player drives the engine of a team in perception? The only way to actually build a hockey team properly? You are too buffaloed we have been here so, so many times. One player doesn’t carry a team. Makar is firmly, firmly among the guys there elevating the whole. “Well I’d like to see him away from a good team”. Why? You’d have to eliminate the competence surrounding every player you’d want to compare them to, too. “Well I’d really need to see him on a team like Buffalo who doesn’t surround their players properly” is what that sounds like. ”call me crazy, but I’d love to see McDavid without Draisaitl on his team” “call me crazy - but I’d love to see Gretzky on a team without multiple hall of time all time players.” Oh, he failed to win a cup without them? Might be something there…looking into it
  2. He’ll go first if we select there
  3. It’s time we finally settle this. Centre ice, during the timbit intermission
  4. With his 41st assist Dahlin’s total is now the second highest of his career (58, 22/23)
  5. I have interest in winning sometime this century. We can trade Power but it has to be for an equal now return. Doubt that happens when it’s a) adams b) selling drastically low on the asset. Draft a guy at 1 and move him during growing pains absurdly dumb unless someone pays what we would have asked 2 years ago Do not sell low. I implore you
  6. Honestly they may really be saving it for tomorrow lmao I can hope
  7. I have heard that stat that in very large numbers a consensus is very unusually wrong say ask the audience on millionaire: if it gets above a majority it’s almost *always* right just the nature of mathematics if there’s enough random/wrong options I think law of averages splits up the “wrong” answers evenly the correct answer rises to the top almost inevitably
  8. Should be noted that at the time, Botterill’s board was Rossi, but when Adams took over he “fell in love” with Quinn. I suggested at the time wanting to move away from Botterill’s analysis may have contributed
  9. There was the brief, “hey maybe Adams actually knows a bit more about the prospects” situation that evaporated quicker than snape confronted with a bottle of shampoo
  10. It was funny how no one liked the pick at the time and it didn’t work out (so far) shocking lol Could we as a committee run the team better? I don’t see why not
  11. Terry getting a good look at the dude Adams just re-upped, early
  12. The numbers simply bare it out. Again, 25th in goal differential. i keep telling people this not to be snarky but to genuinely try and help: you have been mislead. Even by the Smarts of sabres twitter. They pick isolated stats they like and prop them up irrespective of the full picture: ie rampant bias. The more you shrink the data you find you be “predictive”, the less representative of the macro the endeavour is In addition, the stat is always like “twelfth! See! That’s top 16, what’s wrong with us?” Meanwhile it’s the high water mark Our rosters are always configured in an, “if everything goes right we could be ok” fashion
  13. Overall team D comes down to the aptitude of all 23. Better than goals for to evaluate the forwards and team is goal differential. Sabres are 25th. Dahlin is just one man among 23
  14. That’s what I mean. I think there’s some value there to be mined with him next to Dahlin, but that’s more less a last resort: you’d think we may be able to *easily* eclipse that value in a trade if there’s even a few GMs not properly evaluating the Dahlin situation
