  1. It’s all super wide open and difficult to predict as it stands, imo. The McLeod addition is really more exciting to me than it probably should be, part of that is the concept of the transaction and a lot of it is down to the overall cohesiveness of the roster and how the move fits in with that. We are a team that already missed the playoffs, that made more modest moves akin to that of your average team during your average off-season, I think it’s debatable whether we’ve improved on paper, at all*; but I guess because we’ve often seemingly allowed obviously holes to fester, even a more yeoman like offseason from Adams, in a timely matter, seems to inspire some confidence Others have mentioned the fact that “none of it will matter if the top 6 doesn’t rebound” and I’ve mentioned the only chance of that happening is putting the group in a spot where it has a reasonable chance of success, re: proper depth supplementation. And we’ve seen that. I can see playoffs as possible as things stand, because of the tweaking along the edges we’ve seen from KA, that should keep the runway clear for that said top 6 bounce-back. I don’t think I’d bet on playoffs outright without a top 6 addition, which is sort of the tipping point between the GM putting the roster in a spot where making it is reasonably possible to where making it is likely.
  2. That helper at the :19 second mark is a beauty
  3. And is their best player. Shows you how much % you can usually alot to a star not named McDavid Team game, obv
  4. Well I said “or someone like” so the be all end all thing is sort of erroneous. He’s really good, he’s really fast, he fits a need, and I have a certain level of bias from probably seeing more of him than most due to proximity
  5. I don’t trust a single word uttered IN winnipeg
  6. It might not be that he’s sure they have enough in the top 6, but rather the acknowledgment we need supplementation elsewhere, regardless. Adding a top 6 would put is on a real good spot to break drought but what we’ve done at least keep it within realistic shouting distance
  7. I have him on the second line currently. But I’m running a more balanced set up. I also have this weird idea about shifting Quinn to C (as I’ve heard he’s played there before) and running the best bottom 6 in hockey, if we add someone like Ehlers Peterka - Thompson - Tuch Benson - Cozens - Ehlers Zucker - Quinn - Greenway/Krebs Malenstyn - McLeod - Aube-Kubel …all 4 lines could potentially eat. 4th would feast
  8. It’s funny, I checked elite prospects after he said that, and of course Benson also has “C” listed haha.
  9. Yes I mentioned Greenway in a post just now but you got there first. I see what you are saying If we trade Dahlin…
  10. And the first 30/40 ish goosebumps
  11. An interesting piece in this regard is Greenway. Not fast. Presumably acquired purely for Granato This is the FUNNIEST post about the trade dude lol. He’s literally explaining the mechanics of how all trades work First, we had to determine what the *hole* is. Then, they had to *identify players who filled that hole.* now, this bit is tricky. You can’t select the guys who DON’T address the holes. You have to keep your eyes on the prize 3000 likes
  12. Just thinking about it. We’d make the playoffs if we added Ehlers. Barring catastrophic injury lucky. Our bottom 6 is too solid for a top 6 with a supplemented Ehlers to miss. I know there’s no guarantees but it would put us in a REALLY good position if we pulled that off. Prospect bandaid is ripped off. Let’s just part with a liiiitle bit more and get this done. We are pot committed. It’s time, anyways. Let’s get EVERYONE excited
  13. The only thing that matters is the result. I‘m not declaring, nor even predicting success: merely stating that if we add a top 6 F, im not sure anything else could have been expected in terms of offseason supplementation. That’s just imo
  14. That’s a salient point I’d imagine there’s a learning curve, too camp is extra important this year
  15. Flip the L4 wings. It wouldn’t matter but you have everyone else on their proper side so
  16. Well said
  17. Something very satisfying about this, too. One year. UFA at the end. Guess what? He’s still on the team. He still counts. The year exists, we aren’t “renting” it.
  18. I’m not sure it matters, as, assuming KA is indeed on the hot seat only playoffs makes a difference, but if we add a top 6 forward, by the prism of the moment at least we’d have to commend Adams on a very strong offseason. He’ll have checked all the boxes I can see
  19. Mostly because “Forsburg” didnt play in the nhl
  20. You read my posts in the thread and tell me
  21. Will think of him every time I read that name
  22. No one is overreacting
