  1. Adams’ goal is clearly to lose more nhl games in the nhl as a GM than he suited up for as a player The idea of Adams as an NHLer at this point is like trying to envision a stupid Albert Einstein: very unnatural
  2. I think the deal was that if Adams can successfully hire his replacement they both stay (Adams “up” to a more behind scenes position, Jarmo to official GM), otherwise there’s a total shitcanning at end of year
  3. I agree. The lack of pulse Adams has had on his own roster every year has been shocking It’s like no information has been relayed and he hasn’t attempted to glean anything
  4. We can hope for a similar end result
  5. Agree. Vader wasn’t really on Tarkin’s leash, was he? @DarthEbriate The Emperor is of course another matter but I digress
  6. At his most press conference he looked a defeated man Most recent, even @That Aud Smell
  7. Ya. If you need the C to lead you are no leader at all. If Jarmo is the most fit to steer this ship he’ll be the one doing the steering It was either on Friday or Stanksturday
  8. I think the alarm went off already some time ago and he even used up his allotted snoozes
  9. The more I think about this, the more it feels like Jarmo is essentially the shadow GM. Adams mannerisms didn’t line up with a guy still in charge, really. This guy has the experience…I think he’s the guy the non formalization at this time is merely pegula antics to save face
  10. Agree with one minor adjustment edited in
  11. How can you not yield your argument today when the thread is filled with positivity? At the very least relatively so? Your argument that “no one is ever happy” is wrong. demonstrably so. Me, I am never happy. But..look at the thread. Sabres fans are a brilliant shining light for reacting THIS positively to a *senior advisor* hire after RETAINING THEIR ENTIRE FAILED STAFF and missing the playoffs 5 times, this year sitting last in the east for the majority. i have to restrain myself from delivering “vomiting” emojis to every post that alluded to Jarmo being here because this is Adams “last chance”. Are you KIDDING me? That was the last two years if already the overwhelmingly positive reaction in this thread doesn’t prove the fans WANT to believe you aren’t looking hard enough. “how long until the dumb fans want him gone? Hurgh hurgh hurgh.” As if the fans don’t know how to appreciate something good when they have it. Dude we never have it. We won’t want him gone if we actually win once
  12. It’s a mark of how bad the situation actually is that even situations like the one above must be accepted with open arms. if Adam’s gets that position, it will be more of a go-between and less day to day: the GM would be more influential imo
  13. “If you want out of the hot seat where everyone hates you, bring in a guy who will do it better and you’ll get cushy job”
  14. Not saying it will happen just that it wouldn’t shock me. Would look like a logical turn of events, no? You are probably right that it’s not set in stone, really nothing is, but Terry and Adams and co realizing Jarmo should be in the actual Chair shortly after getting more personally acquainted with him on the job wouldn’t shock me
  15. I’ll tune out for now then thanks for the honesty
  16. Chad also theorized last summer Adams could he “bumped up” to president or whatever with his successor as GM brought in to learn the ropes, so if that wasn’t a total guess, could be the plan now tbh I wouldn’t be shocked shocked if Adams is moved up before the season starts
  17. Following Marino on twitter was a pretty big tip off
  18. Move is only interesting to me if he’s scheduled to take over in light of success and not just failure Making the playoffs and it being used to cement Adams place as GM is a bad thing
  19. Agree. I think Jarmo is as likely to take over as GM if the team is good as if they are bad. Adams has a proven track record: 78 points. If we make the playoffs, the variable is Jarmo
