  1. The sabres place in the standings was reflective of their overall roster, all 3 main positions Reflective of the talent, I mean. I still don’t think people are grasping the fact that final standings position is by far the greatest and most accurate commentary on the overall talent makeup of a roster, when we are talking about a free flowing end to end game where your best skater plays 25% of it, and all your players have to play both ways You are going more and more off track in your analysis the more you shrink the key changes variables needed, the more you hypothetically shrink down the “causes” of why we are bad to as small a territory as possible
  2. The summer should be about improving everywhere as much as possible. That’s a freebie when you’ve missed 14 years straight
  3. Adding a D of all things to Adams is a Buridan's ass level setup, that I’ve got nothing for
  4. I am trying my best here to renege on my plan and you are not helping lol There really are no more outs for me, are there
  5. Does anyone think there’s a chance, should we actually bring in a notable senior advisor, that even were we to make the playoffs this coming year, the credit would be more so given to the presence of the advisor, and we’d be thus protected from an Adams extension?
  6. “What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge goalposts?” “No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.” The truth of the matter is there’s a level of Final Boss fan evolved well beyond the matter of simply moving goalposts. They’ve eliminated them entirely: the logic being the rather gaslighting tact of claiming the level of fan satisfaction wouldn’t change regardless of the result, therefore rendering results in effect meaningless. Ie if you can’t be happy with the team as is, you never will anyways.
  7. It’s ok to admit we were wrong. We’ve now experienced it. We were wrong. I was wrong.
  8. I agree but I I don’t think he stinks in the playoffs, any current Sabre would need to elevate their career regular season per game rate significantly upon entering the playoffs to match Marner’s playoff rate
  9. lol I never said they reflect the board as a whole, liger’s classifier was “no one” It’s the idea we’d be “no happier” even if we made the playoffs. An absurd hypothesis given we haven’t even been able to test it in 14 years
  10. His playmaking would be such a goldilocks fit
  11. I literally quoted a post dude Not only does he say it he claims it’s how we ALL feel deep down
  12. Relax guys; it’s not that bad. Look, we could be the leafs!
  13. It’s because you are missing the point: it’s less about celebrating another team’s failures as it is the leafs failures being positioned to suggest the sabres “actually aren’t that bad”. You get that that’s the play, right? See
  14. Dallas over Edmonton Dallas Oilers should have lost to LA
  15. 1 Canadian team left 🙂
  16. I’m in anyone but Edmonton mode now, don’t think it would bother me too much if Toronto won today, other than thinking Florida might provide more of an obstacle for Edmonton I’d rather a Canadian team not win, all else being equal
  17. If anything we completely ripped Florida off when we bagged Kulich.
  18. I should say, it was episode 5 for me where it took off. 5 and 6 were excellent
  19. I’d like to see Dallas run the table
  20. We aren’t spending to the cap on post count, either: be my guest
  21. They aren’t looking to make the playoffs: they are looking to make the playoffs while spending less they aren’t looking for senior leadership: they are looking for senior leadership that will report to Kevyn Adams Manual. Ineptitude.
  22. But a lot of these conversations bleed back into the same thing: until you admit that appearing at a Rochester game literally does not bear mentioning relative to our unwillingness to spend to the cap, and what that means for Terry’s commitment, you’ll go in circles Almost everything Terry does is half assed where the Sabres are concerned: yes, that’s the answer for you. A lot of rich people behave this way: they see themselves so far above most others that to them, a 40% effort OUGHT to be enough, nay, rightly should be the sabres missing for 14 years straight is the opposite of a coincidence. And it’s not correlation: it’s causation. And yes, it’s inevitable. You can’t that many times in a row by chance: manual ineptitude. And what makes them so infuriating is I’m sick of hearing about how incompetent they are: cause that’s not it. They are willfully incompetent, which is much worse Yea, their non-thoroughness is a reason for the inevitable ineptitude. It’s the reason. Ownership is half assed. Why is this a question. I’ve been screaming this for 5 years I’m gonna start getting mad now: THEY AREN’T TRYING HARD ENOUGH TO WIN. What is non-thoroughness if not that? No stone unturned is what I say. They do they opposite the answers are in the room
