  1. I can buy that; but in a time frame necessary to save the current season, as it no-doubt needs to be saved, given the reason we are making the move in your hypothetical? That’s Peregrin Took territory lol 3 of those are made up for sure Maybe 4
  2. I spoke earlier in the summer though pre draft and FA and offseason moves about gaining an advantage on other teams where we can. The theory of rebooting the bottom 6 makes sense as a secondary play in theory. If we can be better than other others from guys 7 to 12, it’s still going to go a ways when the goal is merely mediocre ie 16/32 no stone unturned
  3. We could be maximizing those deals right now, ya Alas We’d rather wait until none of them are cheap
  4. Unless we don’t have the cap space for a regular recall, we won’t be calling up Ratzlaff
  5. Sabres would also need to not have the cap space available for an ordinary recall - ie for all intents and purposes we can’t / won’t be doing an emergency recall Never mind 3. We aren’t emergency recalling a CHL player this year
  6. Literally just google that you want to watch nhl games online during game day and you’ll be fine
  7. I believe starting at emergency recall 3 lol wRoNg
  8. They can, but they can’t be called up to play mid season They’d have to be on roster to start it
  9. I like how the sweaters look in that clip. Little less BRIGHT
  10. It’s not 1974 They aren’t putting their cigarettes out and throwing away their McDonald’s wrappers on their way into camp ^
  11. 2 isn’t an option, it never is. To make the playoffs you succeed in spite of injuries not because you avoided them
  12. I’ve also reinstated your X
  13. Excuse me I now run the Pesci racket in this town
  14. Remember when Lovie Smith became coach of the Bears and said the team’s primary goal was to beat the Packers?
  15. Back to what? That’s it, that’s the whole post? Disappointing. I always get so excited when I see you’ve quoted me. Pretty much exactly. I think I put them at 51% to make it last time I put an actual number on it, but realistically that 1% was willing homerism. It’s honestly hard to say.
  16. Fair enough. Your plea has been taken under consideration. …and REJECTED
  17. Ya I often feel with these models that there will necessarily always be a million nitpicks/errors along the way, but the formula in general produces reasonably accurate results in the macro over a large sample size. It’s a proven model - but not proven to *always* be right. Doesn’t make the model defective, just littered with defects in the name of the lion’s share of the data coming out fairly accurate. As for the Sabres, we were always always going to be making the playoffs off a prediction like this: we’ll need to establish a reasonable track record before predicted for reasonable results. As it should be
  18. These are part and parcel and both get talked about all the time. How many times do I need to meme “we’re on the so-and-so timeline, now”? That’s poking fun at the fact Adams had no intention of winning in the near term but rather focused on arbitrarily tying his vision for success to the youngest player the universe will allow in the name of job security Everyone knows Adams’ plan. You don’t have to agree with my assessment for the reasons Adams structured it the way he did, but it’s inarguably talked about. Betting on the Comrie-Esque magic beans as a method is also something I talk about often. His plan is well documented. Everyone has also seen the results
  19. Power back on the right. Assumed that would happen given Byram’s well-documented inability to effectively play his off hand. Good for us: Power can
  20. Another in-depth analysis here: Sabres line at 88.5 points. Seems pretty fair
  21. Who tf knows tbh. Could go either way.
  22. Well yes, by definition that’s the only way to do it. The alternative would be to quote something from the future
  23. Jury still out but I like the odds on Östlund to help Thompson and Cozens satisfy the bold
  24. Really excited about him, probably more than any prospect we have. Nothing more exciting that an elite playmaker imo and he’s a magician out there often
