Absolutely fantastic playoffs so far Rooting for the Tigers but really just for entertaining games. Nothing matches playoff ball

Those comps don’t really serve the argument, I agree. Not if the personnel isn’t comparable. It’s not as if we can just like, ya know, steal their league leading power play design and voilà. Pretty sure the artists are responsible for the created art, and I don’t see a spare McDavid lying around, let me know if you do. Biggest (see: only) avenue to substantially addressing notable issues like even strength scoring, our PP deficiencies, etc is to properly build and supplement the roster. The PP remaining bad isn’t very surprising when you remember who the key offseason additions were, after an inept PP last year. We chose to supplement the 4th line, ok. I’m shocked that without more talented players we aren’t finding more success within the area of the game talented players shine the most we are hoping right now on a sorely needed in-season move from the GM (don’t laugh) or the first three games to be proven a very unlucky statistical anomaly, wherein we really do have a good top 6, in which case goal scoring in all facets should fix itself. Ie: if Adams built a good roster, it’ll simply bear out

Always love the concession at the end maybe next time

Congratulations, you are more disappointing as a poster than the sabres are at hockey

This is only a relevant factor if that team, by scratching the surface at game 25, is able to then catapult itself into a playoff spot via that development. Figuring it out by game 25 isn’t relevant if there isn’t enough runway to catch up The coach is a footnote re: an nhl roster, anyways. They don’t get non playoff teams into the playoffs. Or vice versa. Improvement or the opposite: merely on the margins. Said it all offseason: if you need ONE coach to fix the output of TWENTY guys: you have already lost Ya; you didn’t understand my post

This is like saying, “it’s simple: you fix the amount of goals we put into the net” you don’t “fix” the powerplay. Utter misnomer. You roster better players on the powerplay

And his position on the team, the production we are counting on him for, and his long term contract, are all directly down to the GM. It’s not Cozens “fault” he’s not good enough. If someone is placed into a position they are unqualified for, in ANY workforce, it’s down to the person doing the managing. This guy could have easily been our 2Rw instead this year if he wasn’t ready to hold the mantle of 2C. How’s Jack Quinn doing? Still headed for 80 points this year? All these unproven guys we HAD to roster up top is such a farce

You spend to the cap. very simple answer. teams that spend to the cap don’t always make the playoffs, but those that dont basically never do, so it’s a very good place to start. there’s only 2 potential reasons we aren’t spending to the cap: 1) Pegula is cheap 2)Intentionally, to save money for our RFAs Both would point to debilitating issues. Obviously 2 is way stupider, as with number 1 we aren’t really failing at the chosen goal, we just don’t have the same goal as the owner. Number 2 would point to the prioritization, still, of the future, which we can’t win under

You get that “benson” being a bonafide top 6 player, as the 4th youngest player in hockey, after a season of a cool 30 points last year is a commentary on the disfunctionally built lineup…right? It’s a sad, sad commentary on the state of the lineup that a kid who was LITERALLY QUESTIONABLE injury wise pregame slots straight in as our 1LW when we are on year 5 of a rebuild, right? right? Our *top line* wing. I don’t think everyone understands how absurd this is Production from a player like Benson on any non disfunctional roster would be considered *found money*. On buffalo it’s strictly necessary, among other things, to scratch a playoff spot

He didn’t suck relative to our other players, that’s the point. It’s such a disingenuous cherry pick to only hold him to the standard of last year yet look to the better performance from earlier years of the other players. He had a down year and STILL paced for over 50 points last year. He fits literally anywhere on the team. Im not going to “move on” because the team gave me no reason to because they didn’t roster a player for his $ I can talk about

lol he paced for 27 goals over 82 last year and that’s after we made him the scapegoat for our issues in the latter half fine, we had “no room for a 27 goal scorer”. What an arbitrary hill to die on. Skinner was a pretty good player. We cut him and replaced him with nothing. That’s not arguably a good strategy. It’s inarguably a bad one
