  1. Literally zero chance they can sell another development year next year to the fans You are suggesting the intention for this season was a high pick?
  2. 6 in 16 for Sam, but also 4 of those points (3 goals) in his last 5. Maybe that turns out to be a blip, but considering he has almost always started very slow, it's likely just par for the course, and now we are seeing his production come along. Will have to wait and see to know for sure. I'm actually pretty surprised Larsson is out of the NHL. We should sign him
  3. This should give Josh a chance to......grow
  4. As long as we don't start touting a looming Cup next time they string together a few wins, I still think we might be ok LT. That's just rose-colored glasses bias on my part, but. Ya - gotta turn it around eventually, right? ...right?
  5. It's a salient point. Winning isn't supposed to be such a precious commodity that we want to save it for later. It's not an endangered resource. A .500 team is like bottom 3rd of the league, it's really, really not very hard to construct a team that can win ~ half its games or, more accurately, attain half the available points. Agree but deluca .500 isn't that meaningful of a connotation to me if it's simultaneously of the NHL .500 variety at the same time. I just call that NHL .500 then
  6. I hate doing this, and presented w/o comment: Ralph: 36-49-12, .433 points % Don: 48-65-14, .433 points %
  7. .500 is still in reach. I think that'd be a reasonably achievable benchmark at this point. Can hang our hats on improving from the 81 total in 2015 which I said was the bare minimum acceptable total coming into this season.
  8. I think it's the mindset they are being infused with. See: ROR Comes from the top down. I know we say "it's different", but there's a common denominator that's been there since the beginning of this putrid stretch. again, screw you, @PASabreFan
  9. I don't believe my own sh*t half the time but I'm really, honestly, starting to think there's merit to my theory that until the team says, "eff it, our goal is to win, that's it, whatever it takes, take care of the rest later", they won't. They need an EKG after the willingly low expectations that have been set, year after year. We've heard of self-fulfilling prophecies, right? Those are actually things people talk about for a reason. If "winning isn't the goal, anyways", wins won't come. The covid shortened, disaster 2021 season with Taylor Hall doesn't represent a good faith sample size of "going for it". It's certainly much smaller than the sample size of "development years" that have lead to zilch.
  10. I'm honestly a bit shocked they dropped this far, this quick, this hard. Jeff Marek was comparing them to Colorado like 2 weeks ago. For myself, for everyone here, there needs to be an automatic autocorrect for anyone touting a strong finish. There just isn't a correlation to games won once eliminated and the start the following year. There just isn't. screw you, @PASabreFan I blame you, exclusively
  11. got to watch this one on the big tv. a nice treat, in a manner of speaking - - - I, for one, am resoundingly glad that Adams and Granato are focussed on building a team that wins in the *playoffs*, refusing to settle for pathetic regular season wins like the rest of the chump teams around the league
  12. His moneypuck results aren’t impressive at this stage
  13. Has anyone checked on the “Everything everywhere all at once that Kevyn Adams has done” thread? on Life support
  14. Yup. Doesn’t even need to be about playoffs. We can just strive to be..better. Ridiculous not to. Truly ridiculous imo. We’ve fallen to 26 out of 32. Things need to improve substantially, playoffs or not, or we are heading down the wrong track: for the build just in general
  15. Yep. Other words: roster construction
  16. I don’t even consider the alternative - we’d have no hope not peeking behind that curtain
  17. So I come off as the pessimist to many when I’m preaching caution to being cup ready in 2 years, so people don’t get bamboozled, and the optimist in the GDTs when I remain moderate and the other extreme takes hold. I see how it is. - - - Was just messing with you dude. I’m pretty beaten down as well. But keep hope - season is still early and as I said in the GDT* - the community of us fans is the true boon *EDIT - im being told this *IS *the GDT...
  18. Exactly. We have the capital. Converting a little for the now is really, really ok. If all we do is stockpile for the future, the catch 22 is that said future probably doesn’t come
  19. Ayup. This doesn’t need to be about making a big swap to find the wins we need to be a playoff team - I’m pretty sure a necessary, reasonable move for an area of need that helps us win A LITTLE MORE would be pretty beneficial to the growth of this team The main objective can still be growth, but you need to help them. Help your team, Adams. There’s no rule that says they can’t learn while winning. Who knows, maybe they’ll actually, gasp, learn a little *more* by winning, a little more. Learn how to win, a little. I’d say that’s useful development
  20. Our only real chance, the thing we truly need if we are going to compete, is to TAKE THE FALL ACT HURT GET INDIGNANT
  21. eman comes in as usual to dish out the reactions post game and I see he’s reacted to one of mine so I eagerly check and boom.I get saddled with a laughing emoji for this. Simply crushing tbh
