  1. I think our differential re: forwards is about mid-pack though, right? I don’t think anyone could say we don’t have the offensive talent of a potential contender once some of the younger players develop - it’ll be interesting to see if their defensive game rounds out to the level where it’s good enough overall.
  2. Maybe all our players will sign for well under market value by choice and we can just sit on 30 mil of cap space that we aren’t going to use, anyways, because we don’t bring in players from the outside that need to be paid, correct? We’ll be the first perennial cup team in history that did so without even needing to worry about salary - Pegula will be happy, at least. We aren’t just going to win the cup, it’ll be the greatest cup by way of value that’s ever been awarded - - - Heiskanen isn’t close to Dahlin Fox isn’t quite as good, and will have signed 2 years earlier than Dahlin, and already makes 9.5. Why would a better player, 2 years later, take the same amount? Dahlin/Makar a toss up for ability but again, Makar will have signed a full 2 years earlier. - - - Cozens deal is a smart re-up that avoids bridging. We save money. That’s not an Adams thing that’s a league thing This is exactly what Adams *declined* to do with Dahlin. He’s already been bridged. He’s getting 10+
  3. Ya. Nope.
  4. No
  5. I’m watching on sportsnet here No sure where you’re at
  6. Lol god bless the nhl for trying to capitalize on the popularity of a movie from 1996
  7. Dude is so much better than anyone. Wanted to win accuracy shooting this year instead of fastest skater so he did it 4 for 4 under 10 seconds for CM
  8. Draisaitl embarrasses himself in accuracy shooting. Sorry Leon even the all star skills isn’t the cake job playing with McDavid is
  9. McDavid needs to get a bigger cheer than that, I’m sorry. Dude is the best ambassador for the game and it’s most important player. There should be buzz there it’s just crickets
  10. The beach stuff is what’s worked the most for me so far. Looked liked the guys were actually having fun
  11. The skill events where they nonchalantly fumble the puck down the ice and proceed to not try to actually score on the G don’t work and are cringe. Don’t showcase much of anything. Gotta stick with drills like 3 point shot in nba where players will actually try to win and they’ll be impressive doing so This dunk tank thing is fine. Players actually shooting for the targets
  12. He’s right
  13. This is such a weird drill including the goalies shooting. Crowd not feeling it lol
  14. I agree the all-white is the main culprit and the pants being blue would help, but Rolling these out the same season we got the OG black goat heads was such a weird choice/result. The white ones suffer for that certainly regardless of pants
  15. Well, both get 2023 all star listed on their Wikipedia page so.. Perhaps the REAL all stars are the friends we’ve made along the way
  16. Exactly. There’s no “angst” there for me, when it comes to the Leafs. I remember handling them in a playoff series but they’ve never beaten us in a game that’s mattered (yes, part of that lately is cause we haven’t gotten to the playoffs, but I digress.) Just like I doubt the Sabres occupy rent space in the minds of Penguins fans, I truly don’t sweat the Leafs, at all.
  17. We now have two official all stars as a team so I guess that’s nice, circumstances notwithstanding
  18. Just the Florida Sex Pumas
  19. It looks like their Pyjama variant Kit
  20. Who is he Jerome Bettis? That is an insanely large waist for 6 feet. I wonder if that’s even accurate. Like if he wasn’t in shape, sure, but I can only assume he is John Cena has a 36 inch waist
  21. It’ll be interesting, and it’ll be tough. We no longer sit top 8 by points % either. The Islanders and Panthers aren’t going to go away, 1 point and 2 points behind, respectively. Even Detroit, they’ve got a better points % than Florida, 2 points back of us if Detroit wins the 2 they have in hand on us. Don’t get to our first bit of breathing room until the 5 point gap we have on Ottawa. So we’ll have to fend off every one of the Islanders, Wings, and Panthers, and find a way to real in one of Pens and Caps. Have to find a way to beat 4 of those 5 teams. If the Sabres continue to play at the rate they have, they’ll have a good shot at it if we can avoid a slump and put together at least one surplus positive streak above our normal rate. Assuming we do put together a winning streak, we can afford one of Pittsburgh or Washington getting really hot, on a streak of their own, and probably withstand a charge from the Islanders/Wings/Panthers, if they go on heaters. If both Washington and Pens get hot, probably looks unlikely for us regardless of what we do. If the Sabres don’t put together a little streak at all, catching Pens or Caps will just be straight difficult, full stop. If even one of the 5 teams we’re up against goes on a heater we are probably out of luck, especially if it’s one currently below us but very close. Basically, I think we’ll need to not only keep up our current pace, but add in a hot streak to make it, but if we do so, we’ll be coming in in a really good position, playing well. One or more team is heating up down the stretch, we gotta find a way to be that team.
  22. Playoff format is bad, ya. Should go back to 1-8 and re-seeding throughout
  23. It’s too bad they don’t do that drill anymore where they make passes into those mini nets - that would be the skill comp for him
  24. Some of the discrepancy between Home/Away is probably just randomness/luck. I know the opponent difficulty is pretty close between the 2 but I’d love to know the numbers re: backup goalies. A little bit of it could be that it’s a team full of young guys who play better when there are more people to play better in front of. There’s already a stat that they play better with full crowds, right? They are really good in “event” games. It’s a character team, they seem to feed off the drama. They sure looked good in Winnipeg, one of their best games, and the crowd was packed.
