RIP Bouchard’s ankles, courtesy of JE He’s honestly had a very good playoffs so far
-
Holy crap what a goal
-
Yup. I give up. Their overall experience making the playoffs most years has been more less identical in enjoyment to finishing near the bottom of the league, almost every year. None of it matters
-
F*ck the Chicago blackhawks
-
Exactly. All I wanna do is have some fun. Ive got a feeling I’m not the only one
-
Probably just further faith in their already held belief that it’s about crafting a TEAM and not lumping their faith and goals onto a saviour. A lesson they already learned if they paid attention to why previous GMs failed
-
The disappointment their fans feel is simply *reflective* of all the good they experienced all season: that’s exactly WHY it hurts so much. Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. We’ve been apathetic to results come January for a decade. That’s bad.
-
It’s better to not sit at the bottom of the standings for a decade. They’ve “found embarrassing ways to lose” after a bunch of good. We just embarrassingly lost, all year, nearly every year - - - This is the same ridiculous logic that holds losing in the Super Bowl against Tom Brady or losing in the final against LeBron. Montana’s 4-0 somehow held by some in higher esteem. Why? Because he lost *earlier in the playoffs*? Rather than making it to the final? It’s so hilariously absurd. - - - Yes, having really good regular seasons is more fun and more enjoyable than totalling sucking. That this is absolutely a *hot take* on this board is something I’ll gladly wear. If the only thing that made it all worth it, was winning the cup one day, I’d absolutely not be watching. Logically foolish considering the likelihood it never happens

Tons better off. Tons. Saying, “oh well they only have 1 more series win than the Sabres” is a drastic over simplification. Our seasons have been *OVER IN JANUARY* for basically a decade. We aren’t the same It’s about the journey. They’ve had seasons full of great moments and clunker endings. We’ve had nothing. No moments. Wasted years.
-
Nope
-
They are in the final 8. That’s “working” - - - On a separate note: I hope once the Sabres make the playoffs, I never let myself forget how much I wanted merely that, and the long road we all took in waiting for it. If I sound like Leafs fans do, today, even after finally getting the series win they’ve been craving for so long: just fecking shoot me

Leon the professional. Have to give him props.
-
Ya. Enough rationalizing for why this was actually good and questioning of our own bias. Dahlin was robbed of a nomination. Makar missed a quarter season. He wasn’t Lemieux.

-
Rock bottom lol
-
Oh so THAT’s what bot is short for
-
Wasn’t it’s 5-1 at the time?
-
5 to 1, penalty calls
-
I have to leave Twitter. The most common argument for why Makar deserved it was because even despite missing games he was *still* able to achieve point per game. I mean..people understand it’s easier to maintain ppg the smaller the sample size, right? That certainly doesn’t make it more impressive and it actually makes it less. Like when you play through injury instead and your ppg goes down

The people (like Paul Hamilton) arguing for Morrissey are the WORST. His defensive metrics were terrible lol. Do even one ounce or research beyond “oh the guy they are calling NORRISSEY has pointz” I beg you.
-
Forward positions have much more to do with D zone coverage . I’ve been talking about this forever re: Cozens being best at C (guess where he always lines up?) They aren’t playing “positionless hockey” in the D zone
-
Lol Makar making it over Dahlin with 60 gp is horse *****
