  1. I do. We did. No one agreed with me except dudacek and brawndo im good with that
  2. I don’t consider a full season a rental. I consider it a full season the Hellebuyck deal I liked wasn’t multiple top prospects though it was 13th o/a and change
  3. True. KA seems to favour 7. Still a good length at 10 mil. But it’s, say, the discrepancy some were missing for why, say, Caufield’s deal was a bit more that Cozens, they paid for that extra UFA year
  4. No I think the offer is fine I just chuckle at the contrast of “This price is absolutely a non-starter for a perennial vezina guy but I’ll sign on the dotted line immediately for this significantly inferior goalie...we get the worse guy for a second year!” But we’ve been here, already - no real need to rehash
  5. Marek today with a good segment on how Vegas has a habit of turning good goalies into pumpkins Particularly when it was obvious the layoff would hurt Florida
  6. Hart played 55 games last year. Comrie hasn’t played that many in his career. It’s an upgrade. Not close to Hellebuyck, but an upgrade nonetheless
  7. Tough to say. It’s been a real team effort. But, Eichel, Marchessault and Hill to me have been the most crucial pieces leading the way. It’ll be one of those 3, all deserving imo. With the high scoring I think I’ll go with one of Eichel or Marchy. They play on the same line so are sort of part and parcel. I doubt either cares. Jack leads Vegas in points, 2 way play, and is the active points leader in the playoffs. Marchy leads in goals and is on a goal scoring tear. Toss up. FWIW Jeff Marek’s pick is Eichel
  8. I seem to recall someone mentioning
  9. Not the “mediocre means average” convo again I p*ssed everyone off with the first time, again..
  10. A playmaker? You don’t say..
  11. Had capable, established, good veteran goaltenders, though, holding the fort. The one exception I see. If only there was one on the market.. Nikolai Khabibulin led the way in 08-09 with 42 games played, 15 in the playoffs. *who they ditched the following year*. But the standard was set that season and he was a big part of it. They actually had veteran Huet, too, who started 41. The following year, vet Huet remained, who transitioned to youngster Niemi (Levi?) by the time the playoffs started for 09-10. Niemi (22 gp in playoffs, Huet 1). Levi could be our Niemi. What we don’t have, what we need, is the Khabibulin/Huet to guide the way. No more UPL/Comrie nonsense
  12. Should be noted the little symbols aren’t a commentary on role diminishing/increasing, merely where I project the output
  13. Skinner (-) Thompson (-) Tuch (=) Peterka (+) Cozens (+) Quinn (+) Mittelstadt (+) Krebs (+) Okposo (-) Girgensons (=) Kulich/Jost (=) Greenway (=) ...is kinda where my mind goes when thinking about the (botterill’s voice) Forward Group. Cautiously I’ll predict some statistical regression from Skinner, Thompson, and Okposo. Peterka, Cozens, Quinn, Mittelstadt, Krebs, I’m reasonably confident in upswings. Tuch, Girgs, 4C Guy, Greenway*, these 4 ill predict more less a status quo. Anyone can do the math there and see things look pretty darn good should the projections hold close, considering the fOrWaRd gRoUp was already, league relative, excellent last season (ymmv depending on thought on 200 ft play). But regardless, there’s improvement to be found. I’d say it’s quite likely. Our goalies sucked. It’s funny how much people are, IMO, overthinking this. Add Hellebuyck and go. *I almost went + for Greenway but consider the = a wilful check on my own bias
  14. Caufield’s deal looks pretty good. It’s pretty close to Cozens’ but Caufield got the extra year, so, seems about even
  15. The year is 2030. Comrie has been traded back to the Sabres after returning to Winnipeg for the 5th time. Sabrespace proclaims Rick Comrie “just hasn’t been given a fair shake, yet.” - - - Comrie hasn’t managed to establish he can be counted on for anything other than spotty back up duty *in a decade*. This is evidence. Time matters. I feel like people mistake this as him being some sort of unknown. “Hey, we just don’t know yet, he could be Hellebuyck”. It’s not even an undrafted mystery box. The fact is, the timeframe matters. Time, the only thing this board cares for not at all. He’s not an unknown. We know. We know he hasn’t been able to seize a starting role in 10 years. The longer the timeframe gets, the significantly less compelling explaining away every year, one at a time, becomes. Is it strictly possible he bucks trend? Yes. Is it worth betting on? Not even CLOSE - - - Since being drafted, 10 years ago, Comrie has started *47* NHL games. Ie the amount a starter might have at it, in a single year. By all means, bring Comrie back, if you are looking to fill the role of mediocre backup goaltender, you have a decent shot at fulfilling that standard
  16. Can’t spell MVP without Brandon Belt
  17. BPA and not in the cliched “bPehHhH” way. Our system is v. good. BPA
  18. I wouldn’t if I were you, either But i picked Vegas in 5 so obv will stick with that. Could Florida win? As far as I know I’ve never been wrong f*ckin wrong, sure. But..
  19. Ya man. The hoop-jumping you see must get hella tiring, like in seriousness. How can that be worth it I thought the tank was a good decision. I was way, way f*ckin wrong. The end ..it’s really not that hard
  20. Florida had won 8 straight on the road heading in telling ya, Vegas is a different animal. Suspected Vegas vs Edmonton was the Cup for real and that may indeed be playing out
  21. Ya he’s a super freak
  22. Our summers are fantastic and the harshness of the winters a thing of the past (probably not for good reasons, but)
