  1. I’m honestly good with his current role: placeholder
  2. Let the bodies hit the floor Let the bodies hit the floor
  3. Extra impressive since they played yesterday
  4. This was actually so prophetic, with the floodgates opening lol
  5. Not even snakebitten hes just a snakebite personified
  6. Ya we’re on the same wavelength. It’s not like what I think matters one iota, but missing this year would be a failed expectation, necessitating meeting expectations NEXT year, under pain of canning
  7. He needs an Event game A chance to show he bleeds Buffalo blue when everyone is watching
  8. Number 1 isn’t relevant re: the hypothesis that they are better than their record Number 2 might be, but given that those aspects were intended features of the GM, and not bugs, it might be more relevant towards the idea that we could and should be better than we are, more so than an implication that we, in fact, are. As “are” would require intent
  9. I’m speaking towards his modus operandi as a whole which I think it’s very relevant because he appears to be exceptionally regimented Ive posted about this recently, I have a high opinion on his skills as an evaluator, drafter, negotiator, most nouns: my suspicion is he’s a terrible strategist - at least relative to the strategy id employ ymmv
  10. I am absolutely worried this is exactly how KA thinks a refusal to lose a battle to win the war imo, it’s stinky strategy
  11. I just want to make the playoffs.
  12. Making a deal that would help us a lot this season CAN ONLY be seen as “short-sighted” in this mindset because this season is only A *MEANS TO A FUTURE END* rather than something completely valuable *in and of itself* just make the playoffs! Do what you need to to make it happen! ffs. THIS year of our lives is valuable! The Sabres could be good now, it would be worth it to have a great year! leaving that much cap space on the table.. you aren’t doing what you can to make the playoffs. we might make it this year. But in this way it seems we aren’t really trying to.
  13. I used to kind of joke about it but I legitimately am beginning to think this is a real symptom of the fans being conditioned to focus on the future, for so long “We aren’t going to win the cup this year, anyways.” it makes me shiver. what a poisonous line of thought. Just terrifying. And you hear it a lot. the current season can have almost no value, by necessity, if the equation in one’s mind so prioritizes what’s to come rather than what’s in front of us, right now
  14. “Make us look bad” LMAO that’s a good one, dude ..oh wait… you were serious.. Honestly my friend, if that’s what you are worried about you need to take solace in the fact there’s nothing we could do that would make us look materially worse than what we’ve already been doing for a decade plus. Do you think outsiders pay attention to the ins and outs of things that we do here that rightly or wrongly give us hope for the what may or may not be on the horizon? They look at the playoff drought. The language of others teams is generally winning and losing not development and improvement - we’ve just become accustomed to it and forgotten. WHO CARES what they think. If that’s what you are hung up on, you should understand that the only thing that will stop us “looking bad” to all them is actually winning: regardless of what “bad, embarrassing” moves we do, or do not make. It might not work, but you have to try.
  15. I don’t know enough about the Bills, or Football, or Democracy for that matter.. the Sabres, their seats are about as hot as a skip the dishes delivery order
  16. Why do we win in the goatheads like enough kidding around, someone explain this to me. Tell me it’s just small sample size randomness please
  17. You can’t afford to let it get too far ahead of you if the result of making the playoffs is the goal, but I honestly do think we are in “playing well is more important” territory, still. Like just mathematically. They had a 3 stooges type 3rd but overall probably carried the play. I hate the “I’m not worried” thing I mean how could one not be, I am, how many times do you have to see them not succeed to make it before you accept it’s an ever present possibility until PROVEN otherwise - but I still when breaking down the fact can see the positives that suggest a turn around while no means close to guaranteed is well within the realm of possibility still More data!
  18. Fans are a reflection of the product, not the other way around people online care about the fact we locked up all our core to long term deals ahead of schedule. the lay-fan cares much more about the long term playoff drought
  19. I feel like this is sort of what I’ve been speaking towards when I talk about what you prioritize as a GM. I want the team itself and its results to be maximized, not to max out every player. To exhaust each young player to their limits because they have unlimited runways. Butter scraped over too much bread.
